Driven by a vision of making people's lives better through health, culture, and environment, Marcus developed and founded two successful businesses, including international performance company and CrossFit Gym InnerFight, and online Paleo-food startup Smith St Paleo. Marcus previously played professional rugby and participated in the 2009 IRB Rugby Sevens World Cup. He retired from the game in 2010 and moved to CrossFit and endurance challenges. Some of these challenges include 30 marathons in 30 days in 2018, 250km self-supported across the Sahara desert in 2015, 230km self-supported through Kenya in 2019, crossing the island of Corsica on foot with 13,000m of elevation in 2018. His latest achievement is back in October when he successfully ran for 24 hours crossing a total distance of 206.9km, to inaugurate the new athletics track at Sports Village, Dubai Sports City. Marcus walks us through his daily habits that frame the body and mind for ultimate performance, shares the nutrition secret that will keep you fit and healthy forever, and walks us through his experiences and the extreme challenges he has conquered. In this way, when you read it, you’re reinforcing to your subconscious that you’ve already done it. Nikki said: “Life throws things at you, and when things are thrown at you, you start thinking, ‘Maybe I can’t do this. Maybe I’m pushing just one step too far.’ But then I have to think again about why it is that I’d want to give it a go in the first place.” “You have to work out what it is that you genuinely want. In this episode, you follow my progress on the Roller Coaster Run in the Mt. Dandenong Ranges. As I run through, you hear some of my personal experiences and struggles and how I turn those into lessons that can translate to everyday life. While running through, there were definitely ups and downs but some of the main bullet points of what you can take away from this episode are: 1. Push through negativity. In any case, there will be positive aspects you can take away... whether it be lessons on how to cope better, becoming stronger, or finding out that you have more inside you than you thought. 2. Live in the moment and savour the moment. Take in those moments in your life that you are going through. Mindfully take mental snapshots by taking a deep breath and acknowledging what is going on around you. 3. Pay the positivity forward! Form positive bonds with everyone you can. Whatever positivity you find, try to help others to enjoy it as well. You have the power to help people on their journey. 3. Always keep going! The end will make all the struggles worth it.
