SISTERHOOD OF SWEAT - Motivation, Inspiration, Health, Wealth, Fitness, Authenticity, Confidence and Empowerment

Are you interested in improving your life?  Have you been struggling with your path? Today's episode is all about learning more about how we can give more to our lives, relationships, and businesses without feeling burnt out. We're discussing the role faith plays in our lives. In this episode, I talk with Jason Criddle. Jason is a Christian, Father, Husband, Investor, Endurance Athlete, International Best-Selling Author, and the owner of Smartr Commerce, Smartr Marketing, and Jason Criddle and Associates. His brands, books, and blogs have helped thousands of businesses and entrepreneurs increase their revenue by identifying and duplicating income-producing processes through data and influence. He is also working on building his own billion-dollar brand while remembering that we should all be seeking the Path of God first in every moment of building ourselves, our relationships, and our businesses. He believes: “Your success in life is directly correlated to your faith in your highest power.” This is such a great discussion of faith and business and the impact faith has on the rest of your life. We discuss why you need to set goals, set a clear path, and let God know your intentions. Jason also shares his own experiences with faith, friendships, and business growth. We dig deep into how God leads our steps and why it is important to look for the lesson in the situation you're in. Questions I asked: If we're scared, isn't that the reason we should jump in? Why should we have goals? How can we transition to something better? Why do we need boundaries? What is the importance of connections on our path? How has God impacted your path? How can we learn from any situation? Can you tell us about the Smartr app? How can we make our life more about God? Where can people find you online? Topics Discussed: Overcoming fear. Impacting people to change their lives Signs from God. Finding what you're meant to do. Setting boundaries. Letting go of people. Today Debbie's guest, Damon Smith, is from Cellcore to talk aobut how we can help endurance athletes or driven/ambitious/high charging high performers improve fat loss, performance and longevity! Topics include: Damon's WHY -drive Can CellCore be used to help endurance How can we use CellCore protocols to help HIDDEN internal sources of chronic stress (test and not guess) as hormones, immune, detox, digestion, energy and nervous system Endurance exercise -how it impacts health and longevity – how to bio hack the damage we can do to ourselves to be “Fit and Healthy” Damon's Story: After getting out of the Marine Corps I found myself wanting to help others and push myself. It started with volunteering to lead teams of teens on international trips to help the underprivileged. Building homes, teaching English and doing what we could. It was just as much for the teens as others. Fast forward a few years later, I found myself battling my own health issues. Always into fitness , I was about a year into challenging myself at CrossFit (after a meeting with the original founder) when suddenly I started losing strength , weight and couldn't sleep. Stubbornly , I was talked into visiting my doctor. 3 Months later, and fighting to maintain what I weighed at 12 years old, I was told I had Hyperthyroidism. My "Only" option , according to San Diego's #1 endocrinologist, was to radiate my thyroid and go on medication the rest of my life. My sister, a holistic dietician, was able to send me to a practitioner that helped me heal naturally. She confided in me that years earlier, having told no one but her husband, she had a brain tumor. Attacking it naturally it had also made it disappear to the point her doctor was baffled. It was then that I decided I had a new mission. To help people heal naturally...but how? I began to dig in and learn. At this point I was about 80% of optimum for my age but still dealing with some issues. Then my sister discovered CellCore. After talking to me about using the line she saw that they were hiring, and recommended I apply. I walked away from a job paying double (at the time) and couldn't be happier! After two years with them, I not only have continued to build strength and health on the products, but better yet I get to work with practitioners to help thousands of people discover their healthiest lives are ahead , not behind. Cellcore: www.cellcore.com and use code j1p29tIf to order your kit.  Ideally, work with a functional diagnostic practitioner (as Debbie) to collect clues in a full investigation so we can create a personalized self-treatment plan to feel, look and perform your best in life.

Howard's premise is that having the right mindset will take your further than you think you can. One of the greatest pieces of our conversation is a story that Howard tells about a woman in a wheelchair who sat on the side of the road supporting racers during the intense Chattanooga Ironman. From a distance, Howard kept hearing a distinct statement from her "It's a privilege to be here". This was her revolution! She was giving her time, treasure, and talent to support the people who were doing something that she couldn't. We all have a talent, a revolution that we can give to the world. It is our mindset that allows us to make choices that will either lead us to be revolutionary or that will allow us to remain ordinary. However, he really should be a statistic. His biological father was sent to jail when he was 11 and released when James was 46. During these years he and his brother survived severe childhood abuse. It was a few caring people, a pastor and a youth group that helped guide him on the right path. He watched his older brother make choices with outcomes leading him to murder their grandmother and spending the majority of his life in jail. It only reinforced his choices to make the best life possible. Join Jay and Donna as they talk with James about his childhood, his journey into adulthood, and the choices that led him to where he is currently in his life. Hillary Allen was one of the top-ranking trail runners in the world in 2017 when a 150-foot fall off a mountain in Norway during a race nearly ended her life. She broke 14 bones, including both feet, both arms, her back, and five ribs. Despite being told she would never compete again, she slowly eased back into running and eventually went back to conquer the race that nearly took her life. These days, she's racing at an even higher level than she was before her accident, and just won her first 100-mile race, the Ultra-trail Cape Town in South Africa. In addition to running, Hillary is a sponsored cyclist, author, and former college science professor. In this interview, she talks about the long road to recovery that involved multiple setbacks (including more broken bones) and a focus on mental resilience. She discusses why she decided to write a book about her experience, and what it's like reliving such a traumatic moment in her life nearly five years later. She talks about her favored discipline, Skyrunning, which features rough terrain and extreme elevation gain, and explains why, even though her goals are bigger than ever, she prefers not to think about her trajectory as a comeback story.

The Pitfalls of a Plant-Based Diet for Endurance Athletes: Ashley Kitchens

As much as I'd love to tell you otherwise, plant-based eating can be a real struggle for some people, especially athletes.   Simply giving up animal products is no guarantee of better performance, more energy, or reduced recovery time. Why do some people thrive on a whole foods plant based diet while others start to feel worse?  Could it be that this way of eating really isn't right for everyone? I've brought on plant-based registered dietician Ashley Kitchens to explain more.  You'll learn: the common ways plant-based diets fail and how to avoid them, what you need to know to truly thrive on a plant-based diet, especially as a runner, and why you might want to skip the labels altogether and learn to tap into what your body is really asking for. Ashley earned her Masters of Public Health and Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before that, Ashley grew up on an Angus cattle farm in small-town Indiana where meat and dairy were a big part of daily life. Unfortunately, so were GI issues like chronic constipation, which she solved with a plant-based diet. She helps people who want to transition to a plant-centered way of eating and she's got a unique, holistic way of doing it. What I love about Ashley is she is the opposite of the stereotypical judgy or preachy vegan.  She is warm and calming and wants people to thrive, not stick to some kind of dogma.  She's got some great tips that you'll want to know to be sure that you are getting the most out of your nutrition. Even if you don't want to give up cheese! Be sure to stay tuned all the way to the end of the episode where I'll share another Mental Strength Minute to fortify your mind in 60 seconds or less.
