Canale Telegram: https://t.me/da0a42Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/da0a42/Profilo Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/37970087Club Strava: https://www.strava.com/clubs/da0a42Sito: https://da0a42.home.blogOppure contattami!https://da0a42.home.blog/contatti/I miei microfoni:- HyperX Quadcast: https://amzn.to/3bs06wC- Rode NT-USB: https://amzn.to/4cTfaAu----------------------Un grazie a tutti i miei sostenitori:Matteo Bombelli, Antonio Palma, George Caldarescu, Dorothea Cuccini, Alessandro Rizzo, Calogero Augusta, Mauro Del Quondam, Claudio Pittarello, Luca Felicetti, Andrea Borsetto, Massimo Ferretti, Andrea Pompini, Joseph Djeke, Luca Demartino, Laura Bernacca, Vincenzo Iannotta, Patty Bellia, Pasquale Castrilli, Laura Ravani, Xavier Fallico, Nicola Monachello, Gabriele Orazi, Matilde Bisighini, Carmine Cuccuru, Letizia Beoni, Giulia Rosaia, Marco Allaria, Gregorio Maggiani, Fabrizio Carbonara, Mattia Vasoli.----------------------Music credits: Feeling of Sunlight by Danosongs - https://danosongs.comDiventa un supporter di questo podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/da-0-a-42-il-mio-podcast-sul-running--4063195/support.

Steve Holmberg and Matt Trappe are back for a debrief on one of the biggest weeks in trail running — Broken Arrow, Western States, and everything in between at TrailCon. Steve breaks down his state-of-the-industry analysis: why trail running's rebrand from "ultra running" unlocked massive new participation, why the sport is about to fragment the way mountain biking did decades ago, and why brands chasing "max" specs are about to pivot to "right" specs built specifically for trail. Then Matt takes listeners inside a project few people got to experience firsthand — a house in Tahoe built with Skratch and other partners, designed to bring brand leaders, athletes, and creators together without competitive walls. He explains the intention behind it, what happened when 37 of 40 people in the room spoke up during an unscripted conversation, and why some of the best moments of the week happened specifically because they weren't being recorded. Trail running has grown from a small community of passionate runners into a global sport, bringing bigger races, better gear, international competition, and more opportunities than ever before. Gaël Dutigny shares a firsthand account of witnessing UTMB from its very first edition in 2003 and reflects on how its evolution mirrors the growth of trail running itself. The conversation explores both sides of that growth, from crowded lotteries and commercialization to innovations in equipment, race organization, and worldwide access to incredible events. Along the way, Gaël, Don, and Scott discuss what makes iconic races so special, why local races still matter, and how runners can stay connected to the welcoming culture that first drew so many to the trails. It's a thoughtful discussion about preserving the soul of trail running while embracing the sport's exciting future. The discussion turns to lotteries, qualifiers, and whether iconic races have become too difficult for everyday runners to experience. 37:00 | The Benefits of Growth Why commercialization has also brought lighter gear, better shoes, safer races, and more opportunities for runners around the world. 46:00 | You Don't Need UTMB to Belong A reminder that unforgettable trail running experiences can still be found at local races and on your favorite hometown trails. 1:00:00 | Protecting the Spirit of Trail Running Gaël, Don, and Scott discuss how runners can embrace the sport's growth without losing the welcoming community that makes trail running unique.

For all of Canada's incredible venues for trail racing, none captures the attention of the running world quite so much as the famed Quebec Mega Trail. For years, QMT has been the proving ground for the nation's top ultra endurance athletes and one that has increasingly drawn the interest of some of the sport's biggest names globally as a stop on the World Trail Majors circuit. Whether it's the raucous crowds, the beautiful scenes along the St. Lawrence, or the ever-increasing depth of competition, the Quebec Mega Trail weekend has established itself as the crown jewel on the schedule of the Canadian trail scene.  Adding further intrigue to the 2026 iteration is its status as the Canadian trail championships for long and short course, pulling nearly all of the country's top names to compete head-to-head over the 80 & 50k distances. No stranger to QMT is one of Canada's top returners for this year's event, Kelsey Hogan. While her global accolades continue to impress, it is here at QMT that Hogan seems to find her very finest form and after 4 straight years on QMT podiums, including back-to-back 100 mile championships in 2022/23, she's back again in 2026 and looking to reclaim top honours against a stacked field in the women's national long course championship.  Today, Kelsey joins the show to talk all things Quebec Mega Trail, from her own preparation leading into this year's event to the storylines she's most looking forward to watching play out across the slate of race distances, and what it is exactly about the QMT vibe that keeps athletes coming back year after year. Nickademus de la Rosa is no stranger to mountaintops, of both the literal and metaphorical variety.  For much of the 2010s he was at the top of the ultrarunning world, rattling off podium appearances at some of the longest, toughest and most iconic events in the sport, and boasting a list of completions almost as long as the races themselves. Of all the highs, perhaps none was greater than his finish at the 2013 Barkley Marathons, a race often deemed the toughest in the world, with only 26 finishes in its 30+ year history.  Yet, while a victory on one of the sport's greatest stages brought the promise of a legacy cemented, it also served to further deepen an identity rooted in performance, one perpetuated by a constant striving for the next win. While de la Rosa's immense talent for the trails allowed him to dictate his own story for years, his performance-centric identity collapsed when an abrupt diagnosis and open-heart surgery forced him to retire from competition in 2017. What followed were years of soul-searching and grappling to rediscover a sense of self outside of sport.  That journey ultimately led him to mental performance coaching, using his education in sport and performance psychology and the hard-earned lessons from his own career to help athletes separate their self-worth from performance and free themselves to compete at their best. Today on The Shakeout Podcast, Nick shares from his own journey of mountaintops and valley bottoms, how's he reshaped a relationship with the sport he loves that's built for the long run, and how stepping away from the narrow constraints of the podium can help us all get the most out of the sport we love.  Subscribe to The Shakeout Podcast feed on Apple, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you find your podcasts. But after publishing an episode on that tension, I received an unexpected response from Bob Crowley, former President of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA).Bob argues that both sides may be focused on the wrong thing. What follows is a conversation about culture, stewardship, local races, and whether the values that built trail running can survive success. Send us Fan Mail#387 - Every year when my Sober Birthday comes around, I like to talk about it on the show. I pick a different theme or aspect of sobriety and what it means to me. There are thousands of us sober/clean runners out there. I can think of few activities that are as great for those getting sober or clean than running. My theme this year is being honest with ourselves. This applies to both running and the rest of our lives. Many times we're not honest with ourselves in our running. It's time to be honest. If you're injured, then get help. If you're slow and you run, you're a runner. And so on..... give yourself props, you deserve it.  Fit, Healthy & Happy Podcast Welcome to the Fit, Healthy and Happy Podcast hosted by Josh and Kyle from Colossus...Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showMartha Runs the World websitehttps://www.buzzsprout.com/248027Email:martharunstheworld@gmail.comYouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@martharunstheworldInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/martharunstheworld/#

Tim shares how his work with Runners for Public Lands and Mammoth Trail Fest has changed the way he views trails, volunteerism, and the responsibility runners have to give back to the places they love. The conversation explores everything from carrying a small saw on training runs to the challenges and opportunities created by big sponsors, larger race organizations, and growing prize purses.
