As his voice fails – and he can't even summon the strength to shout ‘Hurrah', as the footage recently suppressed by the Kremlin attest to, it seems that Putin is becoming less rational, more visibly angry, frustrated, and possibly confused. He is certainly detached from reality to a large degree, because of the skewed information he is receiving from sycophants and lackeys within the vertical of power. Ken and Lima kick off with a genuinely fascinating hypothetical: what does Ryan Day do when his son, who just committed to Northwestern, potentially lines up against Ohio State as a starting quarterback, forcing Ryan Day to gameplan against his own kid? The real meat of the segment though is Ken's argument that this Cavs-Pistons series has not risen to the level of a true rivalry, and that the bigger story is how Cavs fans are more worried about Cleveland beating themselves than they are about anything Detroit can do. Ken makes a compelling case that tonight is as close to a legacy-defining moment as Donovan Mitchell has ever faced, pointing out that with Embiid done, Harden diminished, and OKC full of untouchable young stars, Mitchell is the one national media will zero in on if the Cavs flame out. The bottom line is simple: if the Cavs win tonight, Ken believes the series is over, and if they lose, the questions about blowing this whole thing up will only get louder.

I am back from my trip to Florence, and am covered in history. It is impossible to go to Florence and not be. Unless you are a college student who is doing study abroad and only know about Rafael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon and movie. It was kind of crazy to be able to walk around and casually see works of art from the 1300s. It is easy to say things like “Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance,” but when you see it in person, it makes quite the impression. Staring at a Giotti or a Botticelli or a Caravaggio leaves a mark. Being able to walk streets or sit in piazzas, thinking about the centuries of footsteps that preceded puts one life in a certain perspective. Speaking of perspective, I don't know if anything quite prepares you for standing in front of David looming over the crowds. Perfectly proportionate but on a whole other scale.  It wasn't just the past that was impressive, but the present as well. The artists who were working on the streets, showing their beautiful works in front of other beautiful works while people walked by in beautiful fashion. Beauty upon beauty upon beauty. While there, I even had the chance to take in a Mark Rothko exhibit, who interestingly enough was influenced by Renaissance art and visited Florence many times.  So much art, so many museums, so many ways to tell the story of this history.  This is why it is good timing to have Will Humphrey of the agency Sugar Creative on Experience by Design. Will started out as a fine artist, having his work exhibited as any artist would. His education combines degrees in Graphic Design and Communication as well as Molecular Genetics. Today he is the Director of Creative and Innovation at Sugar. At Sugar, he is part of a creative force that combines augmented reality, virtual reality, storytelling, and history together to bring the past into the present.  We talk about Sugar's project on the American Revolution that will allow users to experience pivotal historical moments through interactive experiences. Will shared the inspiration he received from his grandfather, who developed anti-aircraft balloons during the Battle of Britain. We share our appreciation of video games, especially those with historical features and lessons, such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Will talks about how they are working with Ubisoft to combine gaming and history to make for immersive learning experiences.  Will shares insights from his work on geolocated experiences, highlighting the value of immersing oneself in a set of ideas and understanding the physical and historical context of a place. We also discussed how physical transformations, such as landfill in Boston, affect our understanding of history and the importance of considering the nature of a space in designing experiences.   We cover a lot of ground in this chat, which is about as much ground as I covered walking around Florence and its many museums. Jack is joined by Phil to dive into another incredibly tense week for Tottenham Hotspur, kicking things off by examining the sheer chaos over at Chelsea. With Liam Rosenior sacked, we question whether a dreaded new manager bounce could derail our survival hopes, and ask if Spurs are now the canary in the coal mine for massive clubs completely losing their way. Staring down the barrel of the Championship, we also look at Leicester City's terrifying double drop down to League One as a something we shouldn't think we're too big for. Focus then shifts to the boardroom, unpacking the exclusive news that Sebastian Kehl is the leading candidate to become the new director at Tottenham. We ask why on earth he is supposedly being brought in to work alongside Johan Lange, rather than replacing him entirely, and what the mixed reaction from Borussia Dortmund fans means for our rebuild. The conversation then turns to the rumours surrounding Micky van de Ven. Following reports that the defender is actively making arrangements to leave the club, we debate whether our survival hopes demand dropping a player who clearly has one eye on the exit door. Looking ahead, we preview the absolute do-or-die fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers, stressing just how crucial it is to finally break our psychological hoodoo against them. Finally, we tackle a massive listener Q&A, covering everything from the club's desperate, belated search for a lead psychologist, to deciding whether Destiny Udogie is worth keeping, and facing a horrifying binary choice regarding Arsenal's trophy hopes versus our own Premier League survival. Staring at a perfectly organized workbench and still not touching plastic is a special kind of frustration. A listener writes to us after a 30 year break from scale modeling, and the problem is not motivation, it is overload: canopy masks, weathering trends, endless paint lines, 3D printing, and YouTube builds that look like museum pieces. We get it, and we map out how to start again without letting modern “best practices” crush the fun.We dig into what has actually changed for the better in plastic model building, including why newer-tool model kits from the last 10 to 12 years can make your first comeback builds smoother and more rewarding. Your child's "ADHD," your brain fog, your hormone imbalances — they may all trace back to one root cause that almost nobody is checking. And it starts with how your face grew. This episode is for anyone who has been told their sleep test came back "normal" but still wakes up exhausted — and especially for parents watching their kids struggle with hyperactivity, behavioral issues, or restless nights. If you've handed a child a melatonin gummy and wondered whether there's a better answer, this conversation is for you. Dr. Terri sits down with Adam, CEO and founder of Rebus Health, a multidisciplinary sleep wellness center built on the radical premise that the question isn't just how you're sleeping — it's why you're not. Adam's team brings together sleep specialists, airway dentists, and functional medicine providers under one roof to get to the anatomical, hormonal, and systemic root causes of sleep-disordered breathing in adults and children alike. What you'll discover: Why the standard sleep apnea test misses the majority of women and why a "normal" result doesn't mean you don't have a problem (~24:31) The critical link between sleep deprivation and hormone disruption — and why optimizing hormones alone may not be enough (~24:31) What brain fog, daytime fatigue, and decreased executive function really signal — and the long-term cognitive consequences of leaving them unaddressed (~18:09) How wearables like the Oura Ring can be genuinely useful — and when they're creating unnecessary anxiety (~27:22) The truth about melatonin, CBD, THC, and sleep gummies: what the research actually shows, and why children should not be taking melatonin at all (~30:41) The shocking pre-industrial shift in facial anatomy — and how processed food, formula feeding, and modern orthodontics are narrowing our airways and setting our children up for a lifetime of sleep problems (~37:45) Why 78% of kids diagnosed with ADHD also have an underlying sleep disturbance — and why no one is connecting the dots (~41:03) The tongue tie and lip tie epidemic: why early release matters, why it fell out of practice, and what proper intervention actually looks like at every age (~44:26) The bottom line: sleep disturbances are not a minor inconvenience — they are a root cause of metabolic disease, cardiovascular risk, cognitive decline, and behavioral disorders. The earlier you intervene, the more you can change the trajectory. -- The Dr. Terri Show is presented by Evexias Health Solutions. Elk Antlers - What a Story After returning from Jackson Hole, Wyoming this week, I was struck by the beauty of the Elk refuge, a place where thousands of elk relax in the winter lowlands. Staring at them, I pondered a question: why do the elk shed their antlers yearly? Seems like a lot of wasted energy in a resource scarce world. The answer, mating. Nature has a peculiar sense of theater. When reproduction is the goal, evolution doesn't whisper, it builds costumes, props, and entire stage productions. Sometimes expensive ones. Across the mammalian world, attracting a mate often requires a spectacular display of biological investment. Energy is spent not just surviving, but advertising survival. The elk might be the most dramatic example. Every year, a male elk grows a massive set of antlers, sometimes weighing 30–40 pounds. These structures are not permanent. They are built from scratch annually, making them one of the fastest-growing tissues in the entire animal kingdom. At peak growth, antlers can elongate nearly an inch per day. To accomplish this feat, the animal diverts enormous metabolic resources into bone growth, calcium mobilization, and vascular supply. Then, after the breeding season, the antlers are shed and the process begins again. From an engineering standpoint, it seems wildly inefficient. Why build something so energetically expensive only to discard it months later? Because in evolutionary terms, reproduction is the ultimate metric of success. If an animal fails to reproduce, its genes disappear from the story entirely, Darwinian failure. Antlers function as a biological billboard: I am strong enough to waste energy....and more Dr. M

A young girl finds herself trapped in her family's lake house while they're renovating and is haunted by a mysterious invader. In the fourth week of Staring into Holes month, we discuss Silent House, a psychological horror movie featuring Elizabeth Olsen in her first starring role. While this movie takes on the style of a continuous shot, it relies on acting and character developing to guide the narrative. Even though Olsen's performance is serviceable, there isn't enough happening in the movie to keep up the investment. The twist of the movie is highly predictable, especially if you've seen psychological horror films in the past, and profound character actions towards the end don't have the proper buildup. We've been critical of this movie in the past and there are too many holes references to count to leave it out of Staring into Holes month. A brother and sister travelling home for spring break are hunted by a creature who eats human flesh and is in the midst of its feeding season. It's another month of Staring into Holes and it's time to discuss the long-awaited, Jeepers Creepers. One of Justin Long's earliest starring roles, Jeepers Creepers is a nostalgia trip for us. It introduces the Creeper, a creature that has a hunger for human flesh, specifically organs, and continues to adapt and become more ferocious, evasive, and deadly as the movie goes on. While the movie isn't perfect, and suffers from a scattered plot, lack of cohesion, and a weak third act, it offers some clever ideas and a cool horror villain. When a young girl is chosen to be a sacrifice by a worshipped pit in her backwoods community, she fights to survive even at the expense of those around her.Staring into Holes month continues with indie heater, Jug Face. This movie tells the unique story of a backwoods community that worships a pit in a forest. Sometimes when wrongdoing is amidst, the pit will call for a sacrifice, which is the case for the protagonist, Ada. Her struggle for survival after being a chosen sacrifice by the supernatural force causes significant harm to her community. This is a bizarre film that we've seen before and although we're mixed on this movie, it's certainly interesting and paints a picture of what a modern yet uncivilized community looks like; especially when a young girl is facing challenges when growing up and learning more about her world. While ridiculous at times, the movie is well-written and acted for having such a small budget and is perfect for Staring into Holes month.YouTube | The Final PodcastFacebook | The Final PodcastInstagram | thefinalpodcastMusic Credit: Karl Casey @ White Bat Audiohttps://www.youtube.com/whitebataudioWhat should we review next? In this message, Noel explores Acts 23:12–24:27 and what it means to trust God when progress feels slow or unclear. Looking at Paul's arrest, trials, and two-year imprisonment, he shows how God's promises often unfold through delays, detours, and ordinary circumstances rather than dramatic moments. The message highlights how Paul continues to point people to the hope of the resurrection even while waiting. It's a reminder that faithfulness in ordinary seasons still fits within God's larger plan.Subscribe to AfterWords on  Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts.Download a copy of the One More Series JournalVisit us online: rivchurch.comFollow us on InstagramSend us feedback: podcast@rivchurch.com—About Riverview ChurchRiverview Church is a multi-venue church based in Lansing, Michigan, where we invite everyone to know and enjoy Jesus as we stumble together in our pursuit to love like Him.
