Italian duo Davide Perrone and Gabriele Giuggioli have been releasing music as Primal Code for 5 years now, consistently illustrating vivid atmospheric dub techno soundscapes with varying degrees of energy. With releases on Hypnus Records and Kalahari Oyster Cult, in addition to many VA compilations, the duo's productions have become a staple in deep techno sets for the past few years. The latest gem in the ever-inspiring Hypnus Records catalog comes from Rotterdam-based Rambadu, a relative newcomer who spent his recent years researching the energetic powers and healing properties of sound. In 2019 and 2020, Rambadu released two successful EPs on his label (the latter including a fantastic remix by Luigi Tozzi). For his collaboration with Hypnus, Rambadu delivers a four-tracker ‘Ajna' - an incredible tribal techno journey that keeps on giving with each new listening. Rambadu's use of live percussions and acoustic instruments paired with hardware devices and modulated field recordings shine in its brightest light in the ‘Ajna' EP. The closing track and our premiere for today, ‘Visie,' is an after-hour tribal-techno delight. The driving rhythm, a heartbeat of ‘Visie,' layered with organic percussive intricacies, is an ideal foundation for drone pads and field recordings to do their magic in the background and create quite a hypnotic atmosphere. ‘Ajna' EP is coming out on June 24th via Hypnus Records. Antonio Vázquez is a DJ and music producer from Seville (Spain) based in Berlin since 2011. He started producing in 1998. When he moved to Madrid two years later, he began to play. There he had different chances to play in different bars and events, until he got the opportunity to play at Cassette Club on the inauguration party followed by several times afterwards. His style was always focused on environmental and organic sounds, shifting sometimes on more minimalistic and electro tones. The productions were always different styles because of his eclectic music taste and because he made different works for advertisements and websites. It was though when he arrived to Berlin and after meeting really inspiring friends that he developed his style into deep techno. After his podcast for T_Mood, he experienced a really fast and increasing success playing at ://about blank multiple times in different events, in Manchester at Komme, Pseucho Club in Leipzig and specially he had the biggest chance to play three times at Berghain. He has also performed in many different places around Europe and Berlin, including Tresor, and his productions started to be released in Shaded Explorations, Hypnus Records and Semantica. Since 2015, Bloodymery is Florence's "Tropical Animals" resident DJ and co-founder of Sainte-Cécile Techno Party. Massimiliano Pagliara, Mattia Trani, Aurora Halal, Fango, Vladimir Ivkovic, ADIEL, Dj Red, Borrowed Identity, Aquarius Heaven and Avalon Emerson are just a small part of the artists with whom he has been working recently. Always taking on a tireless musical research on Techno, Ambient, Drone and Downtempo records, he has now become a point person in his city, Florence. He is now a student in Roma Sound Design school, where he is completing his Sound Engineering, Sound Design and Analog Synthesizer Programming studies, being taught by Enrico Cosimi (one of the leading international experts in Sound Synthesis, musician, composer and beta-tester) and Francesco Bonomo (M.A. in Sound Engineering's main Lecturer in Rome's Tor Vergata University). Hypnotic Deep Techno podcast for Phrex's label W O M B, originally released in 2017. For this mix, i got inspired already some time ago by an intro set from Eli Verveine at Club Zukunft. Born and educated in Rome, the young Italian producer Luigi Tozzi was strongly influenced by the roman scene and its local artists, many of whom gave a crucial contribution to the birth and growth of the deep techno sound. Luigi’s music has so far been released on the established label Dynamic Reflection as well as setting a regular cooperation with the very promising and mysterious techno label Hypnus Records from Sweden, where he found a platform that inspired him to develop his style. Melting the tribal and hypnotic elements of techno with the atmospheric and emotional side of ambient music he is making his own path in the world of electronics. Recently this has gotten him in contact with Dino Sabatini which led to the opportunity to join Outis Music that has released well known artists such as Modern Heads, Brando Lupi, Donato Dozzy among others.

The Italian peninsula is known for its output of powerful, atmospheric and emotive techno, and Luigi Tozzi is just one supreme example of this type of sound. Hailing from Rome, Tozzi is a young producer and DJ who's Luigi-Tozziinfluenced by the deep and atmospheric sounds that are coming from the capital city and whose contributions to techno have piqued the interests of Edit Select, Claudio PRC and Deepbass; producers who Tozzi has featured with on the Outis Music imprint. Tozzi has also released on Dynamic Reflection and swedish label Hypnus Records. We really enjoy the vibe of this mix, as it takes you on a deeply introspective journey of the mind while allowing yourself to feel like you're floating out in the cosmos.
