Sometimes, the Lord brings us to a place where our only hope is Him. Even though we try to avoid it at all costs and try to hedge our bets with lots of options, it's a profound place where we meet our Father. I think of one of my favorite movies, Star Wars (really any and all Star Wars — I celebrate it all lol) where Princess Leia sends a message to Obi-Wan Kenobi that says, “You're our only hope.” Where else could we go, Lord, as Peter proclaims. You are our only hope…isn't that the best news? Our only hope is our best hope. Get an ad-free feed of the podcast with a monthly contribution of any amount! Power of Purity | Helping Men to Honor God with their Sexual Gift
In this episode Tony shares several very impotant things: (1) He gives a shout out to his old friend, Larry, who just went to heaven. God bless Larry! God bless his life! Larry loves the Lord and served the Lord his whole life, and now Larry is in the presence to of the Lord! To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8 (2) He shares a beautiful worship song, I Love You Lord, sung by Jared Reynolds. (3) He shares very openly about a "fear" he has that he might not have the strength he needs to continue to honor God as a single man with the expression of his sexual gift. (4) He explores the profound teaching of the bible that explains how our love of God is what empowers our obedience to God. 25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” 27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” 28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” Luke 10:25-28 If you love me, keep my commands. John 14:15 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. John 14:21 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching." John 14:23 (5) He shares an important exhortation for us, as the sons of God, to love God so we will be empowered to obey God! Be blessed as you listen to this episode, The Power of Loving God!
John 6:30 Rev. Wes M. Bynum shared that the Jesus tells us "What Sign" that He is the Son of God. Laurie Edwards and Denise Jones accompanied our choir by playing the piano and organ for our worship service today, as a duet, "Love Lifted Me". Our Offertory was awesomely performed by Mike Cross. The Anthem, "I Love You Lord" was artfully performed by, the EBCC Choir under the direction of our Minister of Music, Mike Cross.
Andy takes a look at the time around the birth of Jesus and what God is wanting to say to us regarding this. Today's Music: Hark the Herald Angels Sing, My Jesus, I Love You Lord, Death Was Arrested, and Silent Night (special by Marc Helf)

To die upon a Roman cross was the most brutal and humiliating death one could imagine. And yet, it was on a Roman cross that our Savior bled and died for us. Though folly to a fallen world, to us who are being saved it is the power of God. Today, the cross is seen everywhere. It adorns the tops of churches and people's necks, but commonplace as it may be, it remains the enduring symbol of God's magnificent love for us.
