Send us a textHave you ever wondered why prayer sometimes feels routine, awkward, or empty--even when you're trying your best?In this message, we begin a new series called "Teach My Heart to Pray." We look at the moment when the disciples watched Jesus pray and finally said, "Lord, teach us to pray." Instead of giving them a script, Jesus began shaping their hearts. This sermon explores what it means to slow down, listen, and let Jesus teach us how to live close to the Father--not by praying harder, but by becoming more teachable.Whether you've prayed your whole life or you feel like you're still figuring it out, this episode offers hope, honesty, and an invitation to draw closer. Here are the messages in this series;Teach Me to ListenTeach Me to AskTeach Me to GiveLinkoln shares his story on why he started coming to Ravenna Church of the Nazarene and shares why you should consider doing the same.Ravenna Church of the Nazarene530 Main Street, Ravenna, KY 40472Support the showThe Dirt Path Sermon Podcast is a place for real sermons that speak to real life. Listening to God in Silence, Rev. Dr. Colleen Hurley-Bates (12.7.25) by Sermons
In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl launches the new series The King Has Come with a powerful exploration of the first great gift Jesus brings: hope.Turning to Luke 2 and the quiet, largely forgotten figures of Simeon and Anna, Pastor Karl paints a vivid picture of two elderly saints who spent decades waiting in faithful obscurity—praying unanswered prayers, worshiping through silence, and serving without recognition. Yet the moment a 40-day-old baby was carried into the temple, their Spirit-illuminated eyes saw what the crowds missed: the long-promised Messiah, the Consolation of Israel, the Redemption of Jerusalem.Through their story, Pastor Karl reveals that biblical hope is not wishful thinking; it is the confident, unshakable expectation of future good rooted in the unchanging character and faithfulness of God. Hope grows in the hidden soil of daily faithfulness, thrives when God chooses to work in silence, and celebrates the tiny seed because it already trusts the coming harvest. Simeon and Anna never saw Jesus preach, heal, or rise from the dead—yet they held the infant King and departed in peace, because they knew who He was long before they saw what He would do.A tender yet convicting word for everyone who has waited a long time and is still waiting, prayed a long time and is still praying, and hoped a long time and is still hoping. In a season that can feel rushed and noisy, this message calls us to slow down, stay faithful, and train our eyes to recognize the presence of the King—even when He shows up wrapped in the ordinary, the small, and the seemingly insignificant.Because the King has come, hope is not dead. It is alive, resilient, and bubbling up in every heart that keeps showing up and keeps looking for Jesus. Essential listening for anyone who needs fresh hope this Christmas.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

GOD: An Autobiography, As Told to a Philosopher - The Podcast, S1
Questions? Comments? Text Us!In this week's episode of God: An Autobiography, The Podcast, Jerry L. Martin explores one of the most practical and urgent spiritual questions we face: How do we know what we're meant to do with our lives—and how do we tell when God is guiding us?Drawing on the Hindu concepts of dharma and swadharma, Jerry explains the difference between our role-based responsibilities and our deeply personal calling; the tasks that “have your name on them.” From there, he turns to the heart of the episode: a clear, four-step method God gave him for recognizing divine communication in daily life. You'll learn how God speaks through prayer, dreams, intuition, hunches, insights, and inner signals, and how to prepare yourself to receive that guidance. Jerry breaks down each step—listening, heeding, openness of heart, and sensitive attunement—as a real spiritual practice you can begin using today.Whether you're discerning a big life decision or simply trying to stay more connected to the sacred in everyday moments, this episode offers an accessible, experiential path for SBNR seekers looking to deepen their relationship with the Divine.Listen in as Jerry shares how your search for God meets God's search for you, and how the relationship unfolds from there.Other Series:The podcast began with the Dramatic Adaptation of the book and now has several series:The Life Wisdom Project – Spiritual insights on living a wiser, more meaningful life. From God to Jerry to You – Divine messages and breakthroughs for seekers. Two Philosophers Wrestle With God – A dialogue on God, truth, and reason.Jerry & Abigail: An Intimate Dialogue – Love, faith, and divine presence in partnership. What's Your Spiritual Story – Real stories of people changed by encounters with God.What's On Our Mind – Reflections from Jerry and Scott on recent episodes. What's On Your Mind – Listener questions, divine answers, and open dialogue. Who do you go to when life glitches? In this message, Lead Pastor, Jamie Nunnally continues our Holy Spirit series with instructions on how to engage with God's tech support.Ephesians 5:10 NLT Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. The Bible gives general truth for everyone, but it doesn't always answer specific situations. The great news: Christians have 24/7 tech support. The Bible gives the instructions; the Spirit gives the directions. The Bible brings the truth; the Spirit brings the troubleshooting.Romans 6:14 NIV For sin shall no longer be your master...How can we stop sinning if we don't follow the law? The Bible gives us the solution:Galatians 5:16–17 ESV Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh...The key is walking in the Spirit.Galatians 5:25 ESV If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Walking with someone means matching their pace and following their lead. The 5 steps of walking in the Spirit1. Pause.Psalm 46:10 NLT Pausing is a spiritual reboot—turning your will off and on again. Stillness reboots your awareness of God. If you don't pause, your flesh will hit "send" before the Spirit can speak.2. Listen.God speaks to your spirit. His voice often sounds like your thoughts but from a different source. If you're expecting thunder, you'll miss the whisper. We hear Him through spontaneous, persistent thoughts.John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice... Recognition comes through repetition. You don't need a louder God; you need fewer voices.3. Analyze.1 Thessalonians 5:19–21 ESV Ask: "Does this align with Scripture?" The Bible is the truth anchor. Don't test God's voice with feelings; test your feelings with God's Word. The Spirit always agrees with the Bible He wrote. Ask: "Is this what the Spirit wants or what I want?" "Does this reflect Jesus?" If the voice you hear always agrees with you, it's probably you.4. Implement.Hearing from God changes nothing until you obey. If you want God to speak more, obey what He already said.James 1:22 NLT Revelation without application becomes spiritual constipation. If the Spirit can't tell you "no," He's not your Lord—He's your mascot.5. Debrief. You won't always get it right, so process the results.Psalm 139:23–24 ESV Search me, O God...Reflection turns mistakes into maturity and lessons into lifestyle. You grow not by always getting it right but by always returning to the Teacher. Processing with God's people is essential too.ClosingHow would your life be different if you had been walking in the Spirit the whole time? You can't change yesterday, but you can start today. You have Heavenly tech support anytime, anywhere. Learn to listen and use it.Are you walking in the Spirit?

WHY and HOW God will REVEAL things to us in the way He does…
What truly makes people change? Is it a life event, a motivational moment, or something deeper? In this message from 1 Samuel 3, we explore one of the most pivotal moments in Israel's history—the calling of Samuel—and uncover a timeless truth about transformation that still speaks today. At a time when “the word of the Lord was rare,” Israel had grown spiritually blind. Eli, the high priest, and his sons had corrupted their sacred calling, and God's voice had grown silent. But into this silence, God calls a young boy named Samuel—a boy who didn't yet know the Lord but was ready to listen. Through Samuel's story, we see how renewal begins when someone chooses to hear and obey God's Word. As the Lord calls Samuel by name again and again, the boy learns that change doesn't come from emotion, environment, or effort—it comes from revelation. It's the moment when the heart says, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” From that day forward, God's Word—once rare—became constant and alive through Samuel's life, marking the beginning of a new era for Israel. This message reminds us that true spiritual change doesn't start with self-improvement but with surrender. When the Word of God becomes present and consistent in your life, everything begins to shift. If the Word is rare, transformation will be rare—but when it's central, you'll see God reshape your heart, your home, and your future.
This message was preached by Pastor Twitty on October 5, 2025 and is based on the third chapter of First Samuel.
Dr. Charles Stanley reminds us that one of the most vital aspects of the Christian life is learning to hear and obey the voice of God. In this message, he explains that God still speaks today—through His Word, through the Holy Spirit, and through the quiet promptings in our spirit. But listening requires a heart that is humble, attentive, and willing to surrender. Stanley warns against the distractions and noise of the world that can drown out God's voice, and he encourages believers to set aside time in prayer, Scripture reading, and stillness before the Lord. The promise is clear: when we listen to God and walk in obedience, we experience His peace, guidance, and blessing in every area of life. Jaggy,Tedi, and I thank you for tuning in and SHARING!
Many young people measure their Christianity by boxes checked and rules kept. In this episode, Bobby Bosler challenges that mindset with the words of Jesus: “But I say unto you.” Victory in the Christian life is not about religion or outward conformity, but about walking with the living Christ in daily dependence and surrender.Topics DiscussedWhat it really means to be “more than a conqueror” in ChristThe danger of checklist Christianity and outward conformityHow Jesus corrected shallow interpretations of God's lawThe difference between religion and relationshipListening to the Spirit's voice in daily lifeYielding to Christ in practical moments (family, ministry, soul winning)Key TakeawaysJesus didn't save you to lose—He saved you to live as a conqueror through His power.A checklist mentality leads to dead religion; true Christianity flows from relationship with Christ.Obedience is not about outward compliance but inward surrender to Jesus. The Spirit of God actively corrects, leads, and guides believers—if we are listening.Dependence on Jesus enables victory in habits, prayer, soul winning, and God's will.Additional ResourcesThee Generation Youth Summit — Learn more and register early for this year's conference.Upside Down Kingdom Series — Read Bobby's articles on the Sermon on the Mount (with audio read-along available).Fellowship Baptist Church Podcast — Weekly sermons from the pulpit of Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairmont, WV. The Bible often warns us against false prophets. It is all throughout the pages of Scripture. So, how can a local church discern truth from error in a world filled with mixed messages? The answer is more straightforward than you might think!1) Christians must test doctrine2) Christians must hold fast to truth3) Christians must listen to truthText: 1 John 4:1-6
I have a confession. I did not listen to God's plan for me. In 2022, I ignored God's plan for me. I had just published my book and was meditating when I felt the Holy Spirit say, "Create a program for women and their daughters to help them navigate anxiety." I didn't hear this command audibly; I felt it in my spirit. And I thought, okay, that sounds cool, but I won't do it. Despite having written a best-selling book about anxiety, having a doctorate in pharmacy, and being in the throes of raising three kids who have experienced anxiety, I doubted I had the expertise. Fast-forward to January 2025, and bam! God woke me up and has been peeling back all the layers of my heart and soul like an onion. Here's where I am today and what it means for the podcast, my business, and you. God's plan for me is coming to fruition. Let me start by saying that this has not been easy. It's taken much time, energy, and mental capacity. But here I am, and I feel God leading each step I take. He has shown me a lot, opened my eyes, and awakened me from resistance and disobedience. So, of course, this season has been difficult. Opportunities I had not been expecting. In 2024, Molly Claire hired me as a business consultant to help her with SEO, her podcast, and online visibility. I worked with her through two successful launches, and towards the end of the year, she proposed that we continue to work together and that I join her master coach training. No was my initial response. Not because I didn't love working with her, but because I wasn't convinced I needed training to become a coach. After all, I already had a master certification as a Christian life coach that I wasn't using. After praying about it, I felt God leading me to it. In the back of my mind, I thought, well, maybe I need parenting and trauma training as I expand my book series. It couldn't hurt, anyway. So I agreed and highly recommend her program for any coach who wants to expand on their knowledge of coaching. If you reach out to Molly, tell her I sent you her way. But that's not all! As I learned from Molly and her other instructors, I realized I wanted to learn more about the nervous system and the brain. I knew it would be advantageous to learn more since I hadn't studied this extensively since pharmacy school, and could use what I learned when writing. Access full shownotes and all links
