The Logic of Liturgy: The Book of Common Prayer and the Anglican Missal (May 27, 2026) St. Paul's Anglican Church In an era where the modern religious landscape often swings between chaotic novelty and watered-down modern liturgies, many seekers are left feeling rootless and adrift. In this talk, Fr. Wesley explores the vibrant, stable, and profound tradition of Continuing Anglicanism. We dive deep into how our historical heritage serves as a grounding force, defining the boundaries of our theology through the seven ecumenical councils and the Vincentian Canon—holding fast to that which has been believed everywhere, always, and by all. Give it a listen as we discuss why Continuing Anglicanism isn't about maintaining a dead museum of 16th-century artifacts, but about pursuing a "deep church" experience that rejects performance in favor of a living, objective sacrifice that conforms our souls to the likeness of Christ. Some resources mentioned in this talk:The Affirmation of St. LouisThe 1928 Book of Common PrayerThe People's Anglican Missal Published by the Anglican Parishes Association

Today is day 148 and we are studying The Sacrament of Marriage. 148. What grace does God give in marriage? In Christian marriage, God unites husband and wife and blesses their common life, that they may grow together in love, wisdom, and godliness, patterned on the sacrificial love of Christ. A Christian marriage embodies this grace in the world, especially through hospitality and care for those who are lonely or in need. (Genesis 2:18–25; Psalm 128; Proverbs 18:22; Matthew 1:18–25; 1 Corinthians 13:1–13; “Holy Matrimony,” Book of Common Prayer 2019) We will conclude today with Prayer 69 For a Marriage or Anniversary on page 667 of the Book of Common Prayer (2019). If you would like to buy or download To Be a Christian, head to anglicanchurch.net/catechism. Produced by Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Madison, MS. Original music from Matthew Clark.
