That Anxiety Guy - Straight Talk And Help With Anxiety, Panic and Agoraphobia
Real events that you witness or stories you see on social media or in the news show us the power of suggestion at work when it comes to triggering anxiety. Today an old friend popped in to relay his experience with being "triggered" by the death of a celebrity and how he navigated through that as mostly recovered person. It's a great chat. I can't thank my friend Jay Floyd for stopping in to share with us. No stranger to the anguish that traumatic loss and events can bring, Jay Floyd has chosen to bring his pain to the pages of his books to inspire his readers to demand more for their lives. Living with PTSD and maternal panic disorder has led Floyd to write, speak, and create a complementary interactive workshop for his latest book, The Driver’s Seat: Climb out of Life's Back Seat and Step into Your God-given Purpose that addresses the need for getting unstuck and redefining your life’s purpose. Determined to lift the veils created by insecurities, inadequacies, and the obstacles we encounter on a daily basis, Floyd encourages his readers and workshop attendees to revisit the need to step back into the current moment and express gratitude for the things they have. In adopting that sense of mindfulness and gratefulness, his clients learn to center themselves and find the peace they’ve been longing for. Floyd has also authored The Poet Who Watched the Parade and The Unofficial Guide to Fatherhood, which can both be purchased on Amazon. Floyd can be reached at jayfloyd1@gmail. His Facebook handle is @JayFloydSpeaksLife and his Instagram handle is @JayFloydSpeaks.

In the 1973 case Roe v. Wade, Roe, a Texas resident, sought to terminate her pregnancy by abortion. Texas law prohibited abortions except to save the pregnant woman's life. After granting certiorari, the Court heard arguments twice. The first time, Roe's attorney -- Sarah Weddington -- could not locate the constitutional hook of her argument for Justice Potter Stewart. Her opponent -- Jay Floyd -- misfired from the start. Weddington sharpened her constitutional argument in the second round. Her new opponent -- Robert Flowers -- came under strong questioning from Justices Potter Stewart and Thurgood Marshall.
