www.atravelpath.com https://delicioats.com/discount/PATH Use Code PATH   Banff National Park Travel Guide Welcome back to Travel Tips! We joined Dedra and Garron to talk about one of the gems of their home country: Banff National Park in Canada. Nestled in the heart of Alberta, Canada, lies a natural wonderland waiting to be explored – Banff. Having grown up not far from this pristine here, they had the privilege of visiting Banff numerous times, each visit revealing new adventures and hidden treasures. With insider knowledge and tips garnered over the years, they are here to guide you through an unforgettable Banff experience. Outdoor Adventures Galore Banff isn't just a destination; it's an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Whether you're into hiking, camping, snowboarding, skiing, backpacking, or simply exploring with your furry friends (yes, Banff is dog-friendly!), there's something here for everyone. Duration of Stay While a weekend getaway is feasible for locals, they recommend dedicating at least two weeks to truly immerse yourself in all that Banff has to offer. If time permits, extend your stay to three weeks to explore the surrounding area. The Enchantment of Blue Waters Banff boasts stunning azure waters that captivate visitors from around the globe. While Lake Louise and Moraine Lake are iconic spots, they can get crowded. For a more serene experience, head to lesser-known gems like Saskatchewan Crossing in the northern part of the park, where you'll find equally mesmerizing blue waters minus the crowds. Best Time to Visit Timing is key when planning your Banff adventure. Summer, particularly July through August, offers ideal weather for outdoor activities. However, be prepared for potential snow in June and forest fires in August. For winter sports enthusiasts, the period between December and February promises snowy escapades. Getting There and Around Calgary serves as the gateway to Banff, with a scenic drive of about 1 hour and 40 minutes. While Banff town is easily navigable on foot, renting a car is advisable for exploring attractions further afield. Shuttle services are also available for those who prefer not to drive. Currency Exchange and Budgeting Ensure you exchange your currency for Canadian dollars (Loonies and Toonies) before arriving, as foreign denominations are not accepted. Budget around $100-150 per day for a comfortable experience, but savvy travelers can save by cooking meals at campsites and stocking up on supplies in Calgary to avoid inflated prices in Banff. Accommodation Options Finding free lodging in Banff can be challenging, but the national parks offer a plethora of campgrounds for outdoor enthusiasts. Tunnel Mountain Campground is a prime choice for its proximity to town, while the Canmore area boasts more budget-friendly options. Embracing Banff's Nightlife Banff has a small nightlife with bars, great dining, and clubs. That said, many visitors opt for quiet evenings by the campfire, soaking in the starlit sky and relishing the tranquility of nature Chasing Sunrises and Sunsets For unparalleled views, ascend Sulphur Mountain via the Banff Gondola or embark on a mountain hike to witness breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Since then, he continues to break boundaries as Mallet London has become one of the most successful footwear and apparel brands in the UK. Join us as, Brogan and Tommy discuss his journey in ‘Getting There', how he has used his ADHD as a superpower and how the things that he thought that would once bring him happiness and fulfilment have left him feeling a void. Grace is a gift most of us don't know how to receive. We've been so inundated with the earthly systems of give-and-get and work-and-earn that grace is a concept few ever fully grasp. Yet it's grace alone that has the power to transform lives. Grace alone has the power to bring freedom to the captives. By grace alone we are saved. Today we're launching a new series, taking time every day to discover and receive the grace of our good and loving Father.   Our Scripture for today comes from 2 Corinthians 12:9, and today's worship is Getting There by Steffany Gretzinger.   –   Thanks for listening to today's podcast.    If this space is meaningful for you, if it's producing fruit in your life, and if you're able to give right now financially, your support will make the difference in our ability to put this podcast in the hands of another believer just like you. There's a link in the description below to give.    Whether by listening, praying, sharing, or giving, thank you for being a part of this space we're making for God's presence.    Have a wonderful rest of your day, and may God bless you as you seek him.

Gillian Zoe Segal is the author of “Getting There: A Book of Mentors” and “New York Characters.” She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  We talk about her book Getting There, and we explore the stories of many successful people. We discuss some of the themes and lessons from their experience: 1)     We start with Gillian's own childhood and upbringing 2)      Gillian shares how none of the characters featured in her book had a smooth and steady ride to the top 3)      She shares a story of young Warren Buffett's fear of public speaking and how he managed to overcome it 4)      We learn how the mentors in Gillian's book had blind faith in future success despite countless rejections. 5)      We hear about the importance of treating everyone with respect. 6)      Gillian shares a lesson from Sara Blakley, the billionaire founder of Spanx how it helps to protect and nurture new ideas. 7)      We talk about how great schools and degrees are not an indispensable ingredient to success and how getting fired might have helped many of the heroes in the book succeed. 8)      We discuss the dead-ends, plateaus, and even rock bottoms in the lives of the many accomplished people that Gillian features in the book. 9)      Stay tuned until the end if you are curious to know what a big wave surfer can teach us about goals and more. I had a lovely time chatting with Gillian and learning more about many people we all admire. Her book introduces them from a whole new perspective. I think there might be a lesson there or two for all of us. We hope ya'll are ready for this one. We had the tremendous honor of speaking with the actress who played one of the most tragic characters in American cinema (or at least in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Universe). Today, we speak to Holly Towne, aka Lyndi, from Getting There.Holly Towne is actually our very first guest who was also a Mary-Kate and Ashley fan before getting cast in one of their movies (the actual dream). Holly tells us about the magical moment when she landed the role, gives us an exclusive story on how the movie was rewritten because of her, and gushes over how wonderful Mary-Kate and Ashley were to work with.Holly also opens up to us about her struggles playing characters like Lyndi, who she often got typecast as throughout her career. We unpack the harmful ways movies & media treats "airhead" characters like this, and the unfair ridicule they receive from other characters. This conversation takes us to depths of #JusticeforLyndi we had no idea we'd reach, but are so grateful for uncovering.Huge thank you to Holly for being so open during this interview. We were moved by her vulnerability and so, so excited to see where her next chapter takes her

We're continuing our journey through 2002 with a type of episode we haven't done in a while-- unpacking a Mary-Kate and Ashley interview and its implications in their larger treatment in the media! Today we're talking about Mary-Kate and Ashley's appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote Getting There... weird! In 2002, Mary-Kate and Ashley were simultaneously outsiders and leading forces in Hollywood. The way Jay Leno awkwardly asks them about school, boys, and driving is a prime example of how mainstream media really had no idea what to do with Mary-Kate and Ashley. At the time, they were making their own content, had their own self-contained brand, and operated almost entirely outside of the Hollywood studio & television network system. The Hollywood Reporter named them the "most powerful young women in Hollywood," and yet, Jay Leno himself struggles to ask them a single question about their career. To give us some context, we decided to also watch Jay Leno's interview with Kelly Clarkson in 2002, just a few months later. Sure, Kelly had just won American Idol, a dark-horse reality show that became a global phenomenon, so maybe it's not a perfect one-to-one comparison, but she was just 5 years older than Mary-Kate and Ashley at the time, and Jay Leno seems to have no issues asking her questions about her experience & career. You can watch their Tonight Show appearance in 2002 and the video version of our podcast by subscribing to our Patreon here.Kelly Clarkson on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2002Find us on Social Media!Instagram: @theythoughtiwasyouTikTok: @theythoughtiwasyouBecca: @beccarothLani: @laniharmsAre you Jay Leno and want a rebuttal?
