While on a walk with her father in San Francisco, Kate Steinle was tragically killed by an illegal alien that had been deported several times before. Kate's Law calls for an increase in the maximum sentence for previously deported illegal aliens who re-enter the U.S. from two years to ten years. It would also increase the maximum sentences for people who re-enter after being convicted of certain criminal offenses.
