DAPA or the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans, was a program set up during the Obama administration. This policy was designed to grant deferred action status to certain illegal aliens who have lived in the United States since 2010 and have children who are either American citizens or lawful permanent residents. This is definitely a step in the right direction for comprehensive immigration reform, but it is only a step. Around the same time it was announced that DAPA would be discontinued, it was quietly announced that DACA would stay in effect for the time being.
