Sue met Amanda who was initially the organizer for a client that we've done several homes for and these have been the most organized spaces we've ever been in. She has a system and an art to it, and with her organization, it's a business she's done for 20 years and now she does estate liquidation, which ironically has a lot of commonalities. Summer break is about to begin and we're going to be at that time of year when we turn into half the woman that we were as we lose our brains a little bit, so this can be a great opportunity to start to clean out and kind of inventory where we're at and what we wanna add. You don't need more hangers.' Hangers in setting yourself up is like 120, or 180, or some people it might be 650, but once you run out, it's like ‘OK I need to purge because my closet kind of hits a max at a certain point. And it's not even a max of space, it's just a max of your visual eye and function to find what you're looking for.” 7:56@shopkuzakclosethttps://www.instagram.com/alicelaneinteriors/https://www.instagram.com/alicelanehome/https://alicelanehome.com/https://www.facebook.com/AliceLaneHomehttps://www.pinterest.com/alicelanehome/https://www.youtube.com/alicelanehomecollectionsaltlakecityNews Letter: https://manage.kmail-lists.com/subscriptions/subscribe?a=HZENWY&g=PFcqV5
Prior to the day of our independence, Adam calls up his friend, the artist from Detroit and soon to move to New York Madeline Kuzak. Maddie works in painting and illustration, as well as performance and more conceptual driven work. When Adam introduced his theory of Crytographic Transgressive art in in Amphetamine Sulphate's 'Human Rights' anthology, Maddie was one of the artists he used to bolster his concept. Maddie's work is cloaked in the tropes of femininity, and feminist curators are often all too enthusiastic to drag her work into their theories. But there is actually a very interesting subversion going on here, where the theme of female victimhood is constantly being deconstructed and challenged. Normally on my deconstructing gunfight series I talk to guests who were involved in a shooting were both sides shot back. For today’s episode I my guest was shot multiple times responding to a disturbance call which really was a violent home invasion. Officer James Kuzak served for 18 years up to the that fateful day where he found himself saving the lives of the woman and children inside but ended up paralyzed after being shot. James was rescued and survived the shooting and trial, but then had to get on with the rest of his life. A life no longer as a law enforcement officer. James told me that the one thing he never thought about on the job was being shot and ending up a different person. Many of us in law enforcement or the military will think about surviving a gunfight but most think about walking away from the injuries. James did not walk ever again and now speaks at academies and is a brand ambassador for Glock. I was put in touch with James after a friend saw him shooting a USPSA match wearing the Glock jersey and James was gracious enough to share his story with the podcast. This week he joins host John McElroy and panelists Tony Swan from Heart Magazines and Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press as our guest on Autoline This Week.
