Mitch Gibson is a native Oklahoman, born engineer, and has been a USPSA Shooter for over 15 years, having worked various technical jobs in engineering and maintenance until landing in the healthcare industry and becoming the most prominent health technology leader in the state he desired change, due to the stress of that career he decided to leave that chapter and follow his passion, quickly after he reverted from “dead man walking” to that of a true athlete. He decided to try his hand at building custom 1911 and 2011-style handguns and he found that Bob Marvel, a legendary pistolsmith, was still teaching classes. After the course he obtained a 07 Federal Firearms License for manufacturing and started Gibson Custom Guns. He produces the most cost-competitive, best-shooting, hand-fit custom handguns on the market. He is also the Section Coordinator for USPSA in Oklahoma. USPSA is the sport for practical shooting, primarily of handguns and pistol caliber carbines. The main job of the section coordinator is to host a major shooting championship once a year or more, but also includes helping the shooting clubs in the state with logistical issues and coordinating activities. Additionally, he runs a Practical Rifle match at OKC Gun Club on the fourth Saturday of every month and work as a match director for the USPSA and Steel Challenge matches.Hope you all enjoy... It was about making a pistol brace for your 3d printed firearms. My follow up question is. What is the likelihood that any of the 3d printed pistols with a pistol brace, would have gotten a letter from the ATF. Case in point, the MacDaddy MAC 11 has a pistol brace designed on it. So then since that designer most likely has not gotten a letter from the ATF, does that mean the 1000s of people that have printed it and installed it are breaking the law? That being said, is there any negative effects on submitting a brace design to the ATF. I carry every day with my DB Alloy MAC 11 in my backpack? And last follow up question. If a steel plate at had a serial number engraved on it to ATF specs that then was inserted into the printed frame during the printing process and could not be removed without destroying the print be in compliance with the ATF rules?
