About LyssSassy. Opinionated. Smart.Lyss Stern says what other women are thinking before they even think it. A working mother of three, she balances family with a thriving marketing brand, an influential social network, and an entrepreneurial spirit that has born several products and services.Swimming in the shark-eat-shark tank of New York for 25+ years, Lyss has developed a fine-tuned BS detector, a razor-sharped wit, a keen judge of character, and a blunt, call-it-like-it-is attitude. She speaks her mind and doesn't suffer fools. Surviving and thriving in New York does that to a girl.So does motherhood, and being a LONG Hauler with Covid almost two years later! She is a survivor and is here to share her story! Lyss shares a family with her husband Brian, and it's that role that has shaped much of her life perspective. Building a brand is one thing -- raising three children is her greatest challenge and proudest achievement. But it hasn't been easy. Like any working mom, she faces the everyday struggles of child rearing in a scary, unpredictable world. She understands this audience because she is this audience. And she is proud to be their voice whether it's on social media or national television.Connect with LyssWebsite: http://divamoms.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DivalyssciousMomsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/diva_moms/Twitter: https://twitter.com/divamomsDiva Moms Spring Escape: https://express.adobe.com/page/BqYlauaHUK7Gw/
“If you don't try, you'll never know. The worst that could happen is that you fail. If you have an idea, just go for it.” - Lyss Stern In true New York fashion, Lyss Stern was all set for the birth of her first son: Her hair was blown out and her nails manicured. She was determined to keep her image of a chic New Yorker – no matter what. While settling into motherhood, Lyss realized that it was not impossible for a woman to maintain style, confidence, and “divalyssciousness” while caring for a baby. There had to be another way. Lyss searched high and low, but she could not find a single company catering to the needs of a mother who didn't want to give up her high heels and make-up in order to embrace the life-changes brought by motherhood. So, Lyss combined her creative skills, chic sense of style, networking abilities, love of children, and dual master's degree in early education and communications, to create Divalysscious Moms. In 2006, Lyss began writing a weekly column, Divalyssciously Yours, for the style section of The New York Sun, which discussed must-have products and upcoming events. She is the Lifestyle Correspondent for Cookie Magazine, sharing her extensive knowledge and advice on the magazine's media channel CookieVision and as a media correspondent on The Today Show, CNBC, MSNBC, and more. Lyss also writes the DivaLysst and appears frequently in parenting publications. This spring brings the highly anticipated release of her book If You Give a Mom a Martini: 100 Ways to Find 10 Blissful Minutes for Yourself — the Harry Potter of mommy work, this release has moms clamoring for the pre-orders. Co-authored with the fabulous Julie Klappas, the book is filled with ingenious tips from high-profile mothers from around the country. Supermodel and supermom Christie Brinkley has written the foreword (and we love her for that). Lyss lives in New York City with her husband, über talent manager Brian Stern, their two wonderful sons Jackson and Oliver, and their Wheaton Terrier, Zack Taylor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University, a Masters in Communications from New York University, and a Masters in Early Education from Hunter Graduate School. She is also the proud owner of a terrific sense of style and a wicked sense of humor. Check out Lyss at DivaMoms.com and follow through on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This episode goes out to all of the moms out there working, staying at home, doing it all. Our guest today is Lyss Stern, she's the founder of Divalysscious Moms. She's out with a new book called, Motherhood is A B#tch: 10 Steps to Regaining Your Sanity, Sexiness, and Inner Diva. Being a mom in today’s world isn't easy, whether you’re working or not working, you’re taking time off; you’re going to go back into the workforce at some point. On top of that, you’ve got your kids, you’ve got your spouse, you’ve got your bills, you’ve got your weight. I’m dealing with a bit of a weight issue right now myself, as to be expected. It’s not like all the weight is going to go away, but I’m having a hard time getting my groove back, I’ll be honest. Lyss and her book have entered my life at a very appropriate time, and I think whether you just had a kid or you had a kid 10 years ago, her advice is very helpful and relevant. She’s a modern guide to motherhood and her book has tons of tips. Lyss is actually hosting a panel in New York City on May 4th. I will be on this panel. If you’re in town, we would love to see you go to divamoms.com to grab a ticket, and the event is the Mom Mogul’s Breakfast from 9 to 11 in the morning at Lord & Taylor Department Store in New York City. Space is limited. Tickets are $75. For more information visit www.somoneypodcast.com.

Now, every time you look in the mirror you ask yourself, “Who the hell is that tired, washed out woman looking back at me?” What happened to the stylish, stiletto-wearing woman who prided herself on living the fabulous life? It’s time to reclaim your pre-baby body, mind, and mojo. No more sulking, stressing, or resenting other moms who have it more together than you and wondering how they do it. Motherhood is a B#tch! tells you how YOU can do it.
To be a mom does not mean you should hang up your stilettos and forget about all the things that make you fabulous. You are even more fabulous as a mom and this week the moms are going to rock out.
