Every now and then, a band comes along from your own backyard that you discover and realise think "oh shit, these guys have potential", then, out of nowhere, they back up their first release with something that's just so far advanced, you'd be mistaken for thinking its an entirely different band! Welcome to our train of thought with Reliqa. The band reign from the Central Coast in Australia and are set to release their brand new Eventide EP on Friday which is a genre-crossing orgy of madness with elements of heavy metal, metalcore, industrial metal and even nu-metal sprayed throughout this unique listening experience. Frontwoman Monique Pym is this week's guest co-host and she's taking us way back through the band's history to find out how they came to recording such a diverse, in-your-face release and how their High School Music Teacher is still on their backs to make sure they give it their all... or to collect some royalties when they start coming in. We are also exceptionally stoked to be PREMIERING a BRAND NEW song from the band called 'Doomed' which is full of callbacks to bands like Fear Factory, Static-X and Rammstein. Podcast host Browny also takes a look at The Comfort's debut album What It Is To Be and plays a bit of the roasting interview guitarist Marcus Parente copped from his brother, Wall of Sound writer Michael Parente. We guarantee you've never heard sibling rivalry like this before. There's also throwbacks from Karnivool, The Beautiful Monument, Enter Shikari, Structures and Dance Gavin Dance, New Music from Architects and Totally Unicorn + heaps more... #WoSUATW #Reliqa #EventideEP #MoniquePym #AustralianBands #Polaris #DanceGavinDance #TheComfort #Structures #Karnivool #EnterShikari #TotallyUnicorn #Architects #HeavyMetal #Podcast #MusicPodcast #IndustrialMetal #Metalcore #WallOfSoundAU
