Pop Punk Is Alive and thriving in Australia and one band who is leading the pack at the moment is Syndey's Stand Atlantic who are on the verge of releasing their new album Pink Elephant on Friday through Hopeless Records so naturally, we had to get frontwoman Bonnie Fraser on the show to chat about it. A true pioneer for being yourself, Bonnie's hilarious antics online shine through her personality but also she takes time to reflect on the more personal side of her life which she shares through her strong, metaphorical (yet hard-hitting) lyrical content, something the band have nailed on this new release. Podcast host Browny and Bonnie, both members of the LGBTI community, also share a moment to offer insights to their personal life in hiding (back in the day) and serve up some helpful advice for those struggling with their sexuality, identity and hilariously remind you that there's nothing wrong with who you want to bone! We've also enlisted the help of Wall of Sound's resident pop punk expert Tamara May to bring you a plethora of upcoming and established bands flying the flag for new age pop punk from Australia and around the world. Featuring bands like Yours Truly, Grenade Jumper, Neck Deep, Sleep On It, Homestate, Paperweight, Hot Milk and heaps more... See omnystudio.com/policies/listener for privacy information.

There's no other band on this earth quite like The Ghost Inside. They've overcome one of the most tragic events ANYONE could ever go through and they've returned to the music scene with what we've dubbed the PERFECT comeback album which is out on Friday and to celebrate, we grabbed drummer Andrew Tkaczyk for a chat all about it. Join podcast host Browny as their pair discuss the tragedy the band overcame, their slight deviation from the metalcore genre that made them a household name and, despite the curveball life threw at them, how they jumped back on the musical horse and refused to give up. Turns out Andrew is also a mad keen horror movie fan and you have to hear about some of the incredible memorabilia he's collected over the years, including one piece which manages to scare the shit out of anyone who sees it for the first time. We also take a look at the chaos across America surrounding the wrongful death of George Floyd, the serious issue in our own backyard with over 400 deaths of Indigenous Australians in police custody (which have gone unanswered) and the tracks I Prevail, Fever 333 and Sum 41 released over the past week which are more important now, than ever. G'day legends, we're back with arguably one of the best, funniest and most loved men in metal, Mr Adam Dukewitz (aka Adam D) of Killswitch Engage joining this week's show to chat about the band's forthcoming album Atonement. Not only is Adam the producer of the album, but he also shares stories of what happened when former frontman Howard Jones headed back into the studio with them to record guest vocals on 'The Signal Fire', a track which podcast host Browny is calling "Song of the Year" and something that is going to ignite a fire and unite all fans of the band new and old, hopefully putting an end to the comparisons which have plagued forums for years. Adam also gives fans an update on Times of Grace, his melodic side-project with KSE frontman Jesse Leach who have been working on a new album for what seems to be an eternity now, but it may not be that much longer until we finally hear our first taste of new music...  Talking about new tunes, we play brand new songs from TOOL, Korn, Bad Wolves and Slipknot, throwbacks from Flyleaf, Metallica, In This Moment and Trivium + more! #WoSUATW #KillswitchEngage #KSE #AdamD #AdamDukewitz #Atonement #Metal #HeavyMetal #Metalcore #Metallica #Trivium #KoRn #Flyleaf #InFlames #InThisMoment #LightTheTorch #HowardJones #TimesOfGrace #BadWolves #Slipknot #WANYK #WeAreNotYourKind #Tool #FearInoculum #Podcast #MusicPodcast #WallOfSoundAU

We've had this guy on the show so many times we need to start charging him rent, but when you're a guy like Marcus Bridge of Northlane, the door is always open for a chat, especially with the band's masterpiece of a new album Aliencoming out which features a whole stack of stories and themes inspired by the tragic upbringing Marcus faced throughout his childhood and youth. These stories have become the heavy songs that we hear on the new album which, as distressing as they are and sound, prove that no matter how difficult a situation may be that you're going through, there is always hope at the end of the tunnel and that's the message Marcus hopes to spread when talking about these events during his co-hosting duties. Podcast host Browny also goes over the new album's drastic musical direction which sees the band experiment with EDM/Synth and Industrial Metal sounds and influences (which they nailed in the process), proving you can progress as a band but still hold onto the key elements that made you a household name. We also take a look at Fred Durst's new movie The Fanatic which features a creepy as hell John Travolta stalking the shit out of his favourite celebrity, played by Devon Sawa and to be honest, it doesn't look too bad either. The news has divided fans (some for, some against the idea) but bassist Tony Campos is on this weel's podcast chatting all about it to clear the air and answer any concerns fans may have had. Podcast host Browny, despite being a fan, takes both sides of the argument to get the truth from the band and find out if the right intentions are at play here or if this is another one of those cash grabs from fans, but from what you'll hear, every intricate detail about this tour has been well planned, thought out and even received the blessings of Wayne's family before the ball was even rolling and it seems the people that want this the most are Static-X's longterm fans who even pledged their own money for the band's new album, Project Regeneration, which wouldn't have seen the light of day if it wasn't for their contributions. Bring Me The Horizon have been tearing up stages across the globe for the better part of the past 15 years and in that time, their sound may have changed from the early deathcore roots, through to their metalcore and most recent stadium rock albums, but now, yet again, we are seeing a significant change for the band which seems them introducing EDM influenced sounds and pop rock vibes with their latest album amo. But what triggered the change? Why did they stray so far from their original sound and (as rumours suggest) was it all a challenge to see if they could crack the mainstream market? All those burning questions you've ALWAYS wanted to know about BMTH will finally be answered as drummer Mat Nicholls co-hosts our Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall podcast this week and by everything we mean everything from their Grammy Nomination, Mat's opinions on genres being "pointless", frontman Oli Sykes' music video ideas and even if they'll be bringing their heavy song medley to Australia in April. There's even a discussion about the band's belter of a new song 'heavy metal' which is a piss-take, "fuck you" anthem for all the old fans who criticised their progression away from the heavier side of music. You do not want to miss this one. Podcast host Browny also takes a look at Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's new solo song with the late Chester Bennington and asks for your opinion about whether or not Wage War ripped off Architects' with their new song 'Low'. There's also plenty of new tunes from Seas of Conflict, Kill The Lights, The Last Martyr and Fever 333, throwbacks from A Day To Remember, Enter Shikari, While She Sleeps and heaps more… #WoSUATW #BringMeThrHorizon #BMTH #MatNicholls #amo #MANTRA #MarkMorton #ChesterBennington #SeasOfConflict #KillTheLights #WageWar #Metalcore #Architects #EnterShikari #WhileSheSleeps #Beartooth #ADayToRemember #ADTR #TheLastMartyr #IceNineKills #Fever333 #DavceGavinDance #MusicPodcast #Podcast #WallOfSoundAU

The Good Things Festival made its debut up Australia's East Coast between December 7-9, 2018 and of course, we had to work out way into the compound to get you up close to some of the bands from the lineup. Backstage in Melbourne, Victoria, podcast host Browny was joined by fellow Wall of Sound writer/interviewers Ricky Aarons and Todd Gingell who all sat down with some of the most enjoyable musicians we've ever had the chance to interview for a face to face including the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Northlane, Void of Vision, Make Them Suffer, Boston Manor, WAAX, Dashboard Confessional, The Wonder Years, Stone Sour and of course, the legendary Noodles from The Offspring. Conversations included why The Offspring would never make a biographical movie about their lives and how a shitty suburb on the Gold Coast inspired one of WAAX's biggest singles to date, through to Stone Sour loudly declaring "rock isn't fucking dead" and Void of Vision offering insightful tips for starting out in the music industry. Get to know the bands personally via our chats and through their music which we've carefully handpicked and placed into the playlist so you can get the full experience and either relive (or cure your FOMO) from the first outing of Good Things Festival 2018. Usually when bands release an album and the hype wears down, there's the long wait that follows before fans can finally get their hands on some new material, but every now and then an act can surprise us all with a small taste of what's to come in the form of a single or EP and that's what AFI have done with their new offering The Missing Man EP. The new collection of songs showcases what the band are truly capable of when they use their 27 years of experience together (20 for this week's guest co-host) and offer up five new songs that are unique, but still with that signature AFI tone. Guitarist Jade Puget joins Browny to talk about their decision to release an EP rather than waiting for a full-length album and his response really goes to show the band are certainly looking out for their fanbase (new and old). The pair also discusses Jade and frontman Davey Havok's straight-edge hardcore side project XTRMST and what the current state of that band is (if you didn't know about it, oh boy you're in for a treat when you hear the song we've got playing). Talking about New Music, there is plenty of it this week from Alpha Wolf, Justice For The Damned, Void of Vision and Emigrate, throwbacks from Angels & Airwaves, The Offspring and more... #WoSUATW #AFI #JadePuget #TheMissingMan #XTRMST #Punk #Rock #Hardcore #Sevendust #AlphaWolf #JusticeForTheDamned #VodOfVision #AngelsAndAirwaves #AvA #TomDelonge #Emigrate #Rammstein #BringMeTheHorizon #BMTH #LoFire #TheOffspring #Music Podcast #Podcast #AustralianBands #WallOfSoundAU

Stop Everything: Karnivool are back together again and they're not only working on new music but they're hitting the road to play UNIFY Gathering 2019 and we can hadly contain our excitement. Joining us on this very special 'Countdown to UNIFY' podcast is frontman Ian Kenny who not only opens up about what's taking so long with the band's new material, but also the feelings of neglect he deals with when thinking about the fans who are eagerly waiting to hear it. It's no secret the man is one of Australia's hardest working musicians fronting both The Vool and Birds of Tokyo, so its great to get an insight to how his mind works and how he juggles time between the two, as well as having a social life. But the surprises don't end there, he discusses the idea of a Sound Awake Anniversary Tour in 2019 to celebrate the album's 10th Birthday, similar to what they did with their debut album Themata and from all accounts, there could very much be something in the works already... Podcast host Browny also chats with the very first Wall of Sound UNIFY Intern winner Adam Rice about taking out the prize and a couple of the bands from the lineup which changed and influenced his appreciation for heavy music. And talking about the lineup, there are plenty of tracks to get you pumped up for the annual festival including throwbacks from Every Time I Die, Taking Back Sunday, WAAX and Falcifer, newer tunes from The Plot In You, Turnstile, Underoath, Hellions, Pagan and more... #WoSUATW #IanKenny #Karnivool #BirdsOfTokyo #AustralianBands #UNIFYGathering #UNIFY2019 #ThePlotInYou #Underoath #DreamState #Hellions #TakingBackSunday #OceanSleeper #Saviour #WoSUAINYIntern #Thornhill #Karnivool #WAAX #Pagan #Falcifer #Turnstile #EveryTimeIDie #ETID #MusicPodcast #Podcast #HeavyMetal #Metalcore #Punk #BlackMetal #Deathcore #UNFD #WallOfSoundAU

Yeah, you read that right, Sydney pop punks Heroes For Hire are getting back together again for a string of Official Farewell Shows in December and you better believe we're fuckin excited for them. Joining us on the show EXCLUSIVELY this week is frontman Brad Smith who is talking all about the reunion including how the idea came about, what happened back in 2013 when he was publically ousted from the band which consequently lead to their demise and if this is a one-time only opportunity or if there'll be more tours in future. For the band's longterm fans, this is an opportunity for you to catch the guys one last time up the East Coast of Australia and relive the memories you had watching them explode back in the day. The guys played stacks of music festivals and toured with some pretty big names in the business, we ever get a sneak peek of the setlist too, so strap yourself in for nostalgia overload. Podcast host Browny also discusses the NSW Police and Government's ridiculous rules and regulations which have consequently resulted in under 18-year-old patrons no longer being allowed to attend the first Good Things Festival in Sydney and asks for music fans and listeners to join a petition to try and convince the State Government and NSW Police to rethink their strategies and work cooperatively with festival organisers to so they can make the festival an All Ages event again. Australia. We're not just known for kangaroos, stingrays, emus, drop bears and deadly killer magpies down here, we've also got a healthy collection of rock bands, some of whom have been going hard for decades and we've got the frontman of one of those bands on the show this week. Dave Gleeson is someone you'd describe as a typical Aussie bloke, but he's also an icon in the industry, having fronted both The Screaming Jets and The Angels and he's joining the show this week to chat about the Jets' new album Gotcha Covered which features covers of classic Australian bands like The Radiators, Goanna, You Am I, AC/DC, INXS, Hoodoo Gurus and more. He also takes us back through his life in the early days of playing in a band (when there were more venues accommodating) and even shares his thoughts on newer Australian bands like Tequila Mockingbyrd and Parkway Drive plus offers up his own "helping hand" for upcoming bands looking to make it big outside of Australia. As heavy music fans, we tend to follow our favourite musicians throughout their careers and all the different projects they start up or are apart of and this week's special guest co-host is a prime example of that as we say G'Day to legendary drummer Joey Jordison of the new, death/black metal hybrid Sinsaenum. The HEAVY AF supergroup is made up of various metal musicians including Frédéric Leclercq of Dragonforce, Stéphane Buriez from Loudblast, Dååth's Sean Zatorsky, Mayhem frontman Attila Csihar and SETH's Heimoth. The new band is brutally heavy and will be making their debut in Australia next week so we had to get him on to find out all about the band's conception for you and if his other side-project Vimic was still active, considering they never made it down under for fans. First up is Dan Campbell from pop punk band The Wonder Years who joins us to chat about their latest album Sister Cities which features a very emotional track Dan wrote after having to travel to Japan for a tour not long after his Grandfather passed away. Its certainly one of the better albums to be released in 2018 so far, but podcast host Browny also accidentally uncovered a secret that Dan and his partner hadn't even told the world yet which has him excited (and scared) for the future. The second guest is Bert McCracken from The Used who set up shop in Australia six years go to raise his two daughters and from all accounts he's become accustomed to life down under dropping C*Bombs more frequently than normal. He's also on deck to discuss how he still loves playing music from way back in the band's emo catalogue and what the band's setlist will include during their slow on the festival.
