Join Sergio and I as we talk about how its been finding himself while working with 3 bands. Sergio discusses how he's really honed in on being of service to not only the other musicians he's collaborating with but to the song itself. We get into where Sergio's sense of style and live show comes from. We dive into the journey he and Eidola have been on over the last 3 releases, culminating in a double album that went from the bands heaviest, Eviscerate, to the bands lightest, Mend. We talk about how that process was for Sergio, admittedly not being into the heavier side of things, but how that allowed him to really express himself on Mend. We get into what the future holds for the band and where Sergio thinks it could go. Sergio also talks about how he got involved with Blue Swan Records from the label side of things, and how it has been for him learning the ins and outs or working for and help run a label. Some of the early challenges he faced, and taking a moment to reflect on the successes along the way.Intro Music:“Remember “This Night” (Podcast Edit) by Chae Hawk"Pretty Lights" by HeartsickShow Sponsors:Rockabilia (www.rockabilia.com) USE OUR CODE BREWTALLY AND GET 10% OFF YOUR TOTAL ORDER!!Links:Facebook:www.facebook.com/DanceGavinDancewww.facebook.com/eidolaUTwww.facebook.com/RoyalCodaOfficialwww.facebook.com/rockabiliacomwww.facebook.com/brewspeakpodInstagram:@sergio.medina93, @dancegavindance, @eidola, @royal.coda, @rockabiliacom, @brewspeakpod, @jbeatty616Twitter:@DGDtheband, @eidola, @royalcoda, @rockabilia, @brewspeakpod, @jbeatty616Website:www.dancegavindanceband.comwww.eidolaband.comEmail:Brewtallyspeaking@gmail.comRATE/REVIEW/SUBSCRIBE!!!
This week on Toilet Radio: We're going through the most excellent lineup of this year's Hell's Heroes, a celebration of old school heavy metal going down in Houston this spring. We're also getting into the audacious response Steffen Kummerer of Obscura had for former members accusing him of stealing riffs without credit. New vid dropped of Tim Lambesis abusing his dog and his ex-wife accusing him of domestic abuse; he is who we've always said he is. A blast from the past: Upon a Burning Body and King 810 are touring together. What year is it??? SeeYouSpaceCowboy lost their vocalist because the rest of the band just had to jump on a tour with the abusers/laptop thieves in Dance Gavin Dance. Finally, Exodus switched vocalists again to the overwhelming apathy of everyone. Folks, it's a good one. Music featured on this show: Night Cobra – In Mortal Danger Want more Toilet Radio? Lead vocalist Connie Sgarbossa, a transgender singer, has announced her intention to leave the band due to ongoing controversies15. The decision stems from a recent tour announcement with Dance Gavin Dance, which sparked backlash from fans who viewed it as hypocritical given the band's previous stance on similar issues. Sgarbossa expressed her disagreement with the tour decision and cited a "lack of urgency on issues" she had been raising within the band45. Join Andrew, who has quickly become one of my best friends I've made through booking shows and doing this podcast, and I as we catch up from the last time Andrew and I talked. We get into the new Eidola record Andrew is writing and recording currently, and what fans can expect from this record. Andrew opens up a bit about how the fans support of The Architect gave him inspiration to do another Eidola record, as that was poised to be the bands last. We talk about me getting off Facebook and how that adjustment has been to my social life, and things we've noticed by integrating with people in person and if there will be more of a shift to people getting away from social media or diving further down the rabbit hole. Andrew and I talk about shared grief of losing close friends and family over the last few years, how it was for DGD to play Swanfest without Tim and ultimately what the bands first tour was like going through the cathartic experience of grieving the loss of a brother while also getting the healing that everyone needed while playing for all the bands fans each night and a whole lot more in this conversation with a great friend.
