Discovering Trek listeners, in this episode we see the Vulcans get called out for spying and they REALLY don't like that. So T'Pol is being recalled, without a new gig, soon to be gone forever from the Enterprise crew. Archer being all Archery takes her on one last mission and flies down to Coridan, where things are not so peachy on the political front. This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss captured crew, quick thinking, a sleepy returning character, plates of grool, a completely insulting scene, fake outs and the return of a beloved actor. You are Ni'Var far from adventure with this crew. So get ready for some blue, pointy, phasery and tension filled happenings in this episode. And seriously, is a little cinnamon in the oatmeal and less sexism too much to ask?

Star Trek ENT S1E15 Shadows of P'Jem
It's Vulcans vs. Andorians and humans are caught in the middle again. Jimmy, Dom, and Fr. Cory talk about this Cold War-style hostage crisis, the problematic sexualization of T'Pol, and Archer's questionable lies to solve his problem.

It's spiritual tourism time for Captain Dr. Beckett and his sentient gator sidekick! What do we do if the episode doesn't totally suck? Ah uh nuh. Vicky is correct about what happens to P'Jem she wasn't sure what else would happen
In our 14th episode, we wrongly assume that the UPN trailer would focus on the close encounter between Archer's face and T'Pol's bosom. The Enterprise crew explore a world which oddly has a 100% kidnapping rate, and everyone takes turns being a better captain than Archer. Also the name of Jeffrey Combs's character is Shran. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intro and outro music by Iván D. Essential Enterprise Season One. In every season of every Star Trek show, there are some episodes that stand out more than others — but which ones are essential to their respective shows as a whole? We begin a new four-part series where we look at each episode of each season and determine if they are essential to the overall narrative of the show. In this episode of Warp Five, host Brandon-Shea Mutala is joined by Richard Marquez of Earl Grey and Brandi Jackola of Live From the Edge to analyze the first season of Enterprise and select the absolutely essential episodes that they feel you must watch. Phyllis Strong Interview. Phyllis Strong began her work on Star Trek with the seventh season episode of Star Trek: Voyager called "Body and Soul," which she wrote with her writing partner Mike Sussman. After an additional three credits on that show, she was offered the position of Executive Story Editor for first season of the new Star Trek spinoff which would be called Enterprise. During the show's run, she would write or co-write 12 episodes, many of which have become fan favorites including "Damage," "Dead Stop," and "Fusion." In this episode of Warp Five, Floyd Dorsey and Brandon-Shea Mutala are joined by Phyllis Strong to discuss her early writing career, beginning with spec scripts for shows such as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and The X-Files. We also talk about how she began to write with Mike Sussman, and the path that lead them to working on Enterprise. We also discuss some of her favorite Trek episodes that she wrote, as well as some of the easiest and hardest characters to write for on that show. Chapters Intro (00:00:00) Welcome, Boomers! This direct sequel to the Andorian Incident brings back one of our favorite Star Trek regulars, Jeffrey Combs as Shran. This episode also happens to be one of the last times in my memory that the show tries to force us to think Archer and T'Pol could be a thing. I think we’re all grateful for that. Enterprise 01x015 - Shadows of P'Jem Directed by Mike Vejar Teleplay by Mike Sussman & Phyllis Strong Guest Stars: Jeffrey Combs, Gregory Itzin, Steven Dennis, Vaughn Armstrong, Gary Graham, Barbara Tarbuck Join Chris Keeley, Jason Allen, Joe Heiser and Joshua B. Enterprise Season One: To Help or Not Help. While Tucker and Reed tried their best to find out if one bottle is really enough, the latter half of Season One tested Captain Archer with some very difficult decisions. More and more often, we began to see that the human morals and ethics the NX-01 crew brought with them didn't always serve them well as they encountered strange, alien species more frequently. In this episode of Warp Five, hosts Floyd Dorsey and Jeffrey Harlan are joined by Mike Morrison of Meta Treks as they discuss the themes of the latter half of Enterprise's freshman season. Listen in as they debate the life-and-death decisions of Captain Archer, try to explain how a rogue planet might have green vegetation, and promote what could be a great two-man play. Enterprise manages to pull off three consecutive not-terrible episodes in a row, so maybe they're turning a corner? In any case, we watch "Dear Doctor," "Sleeping Dogs," and "Shadows of P'Jem," which are all fairly solid, if completely devoid of original thought (the best of them is a rough combination of two classic Next Gen episodes). Then, on Mad Men, Freddy Rumsen has an awful day and is given "Six Months Leave" to think about it.Next week, we start our discussion of Battlestar Galactica. How should we deal with spoilers? Avoid them? Cordon them off in their own section? Spoil the shit our of everything? Let us know in the comments, or by email at tvpodcastulacra@gmail.com.
