Anthropic is calling for governments to have the authority to stop deployment of advanced AI systems that pose unacceptable risks. CEO Dario Amodei points to the company's Mythos cybersecurity model as proof that AI has become a matter of national and strategic consequence, warning that cyber risks may soon be followed by biological and autonomy risks. Meanwhile, security researcher Nightmare Eclipse has released RoguePlanet, a new Windows Defender zero-day that reportedly works against fully patched Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems. The disclosure comes shortly after Microsoft said it had no intention of pursuing action against security researchers, suggesting the dispute between the company and the researcher is far from over. And European authorities have dismantled AudiA6, a cryptocurrency laundering operation that Europol says used thousands of fraudulent exchange accounts to help obscure the proceeds of ransomware attacks and other cybercrime. Send us Fan MailWe instinctively think of planets as rocky or gaseous bodies orbiting a star like our sun, with sunrise, sunset, heating and maybe even seasons. But what if a planet didn't orbit a light source? What if it just floated through space vaguely orbiting the centre of the galaxy, but tugged this way and that way by nearby stars and stellar systems. These are rogue planets. No sunrise, no sunset, no heat from an outside source. Just starlight and blackness as it wandered aimlessly through lonely interstellar space. And they just might be the most common type of planet in our galaxy.Follow Cosmic Coffee Time on X for some special contentX.com/CosmicCoffTimeEmail us! cosmiccoffeetime@gmail.comYou can request a topic for the show! Marshall Masters is a controversial researcher and author known for his long-standing focus on Planet X (also referred to as Nibiru) and its alleged cyclical return. In Planet X To Return in November 2017, Masters examines ancient texts, astronomical data, prophetic traditions, and alternative science claims to argue that a rogue planetary body periodically enters the inner solar system, influencing Earth through gravitational effects and global upheaval. His work blends catastrophe theory, survival preparedness, and reinterpretations of historical records, positioning Planet X as both a physical and civilizational reset mechanism. While highly debated, his research has made him a prominent figure in alternative cosmology and doomsday studies.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-x-zone-radio-tv-show--1078348/support.Please note that all XZBN radio and/or television shows are Copyright © REL-MAR McConnell Meda Company, Niagara, Ontario, Canada – www.rel-mar.com. Is this hobby the one remaining place we can still escape from digital technology and leave the phones, tablets, etc at the door? Or, are there benefits to be had by implementing certain tech to run "hybrid" style gaming experiences? That's just one of the topics we touch on in this episode of the Tabletop Miniature Hobby Podcast. This time around, we're joined by Robey Jenkins of Precinct Omega. Robey is the creator of the Horizon Wars games series, as well as the Precinct Omega News & Game Design Podcast. You can find his games (as well as a whole trove of others) on Wargame Vault. We talk about storytelling, and worldbuilding in miniature agnostic games, referencing some of our own favourites like Open Combat, Song of Blades & Heroes, and Rogue Planet. Does providing a universe or setting limit players, or does it help them to build their forces and play out more meaningful encounters? We couldn't have a chat with Robey without dipping into game mechanics. What are some of the most innovative ones he's come across? What are the mechanics he's most proud of creating himself? Are there only so many different variations of miniature wargame rules out there? And while we're at it, what makes a hobbyist gamer want to start writing their own rules in the first place anyway?Robey also offers his thoughts on how he'd go about adapting a popular miniature game into a solo or co-op ruleset, and whether or not you could make a "tiny" game with only two minis. No conversation on this podcast would be complete without touching on Games Workshop, either. Does GW have more or less of an influence and hold over this industry than it did, say, 25 years ago?
