This week we are recording from Caudalie Crest Farm & Vineyard in Weston, TX, right near Celina. We are discussing the mysterious disappearances of Stacie Madison and Susan Smalley out of Carrollton, Texas. The disappearances and presumed murders of these girls has gone unsolved for 33 years. The Carrollton police department had a witness come forward and claim the boyfriend of Stacie Madison at the time of her disappearance, admitted to her that he killed both girls. We have a special guest in law enforcement joining us for this episode. Officer Brian Baker currently works for the Colony police department and shares his take on the case. We are not only sipping a beautiful, '5 corked' red blend by Cascabel Ranch Winery for this week's episode, but we have the owner here to talk to us about his experience in law enforcement and winemaking! Brian Baker is a veteran police officer, winemaker, and his expertise is in death scenes and homicide. He really brings his knowledge to this episode. The greatest living punk-rock guitarist: Brian Baker. His impact on punk music and in rock is undeniable. Whether you know him from hardcore legends Minor Threat, punk icons Bad Religion, or some non-super-group super-groups like Fake Names, Foxhall Stacks, or Beach Rats you have no doubt feasted on at least one of the Baker's dozen or so bands. We take some deep dives into gear on this one... We talk the magic of Gibsons, Marshalls, P90 pickups, and more. How the gear has influenced the player, how the player has influenced the gear, and how these have changed over time on stage and in studio, but why it's important for Brian to keep the rig simple. Welcome to Amazin’ Avenue in Conversation, a podcast from Amazin’ Avenue where we invite interesting people on the show to talk about themselves, the Mets, and more. Brian Baker only became a Met fan when he moved to New Jersey in the mid-2010s, but he has made up for lost time. If you’re a fan of punk rock, you know Brian as the founding bassist of Minor Threat, founder/guitarist/songwriter of Dag Nasty, the guitarist in Bad Religion since the mid-90s, and, most recently, as the guitarist in both Fake Names and Beach Rats. Hosts Chris and Brian geek out for 40 minutes or so with Brian about the time he played with Carlos Santana as a tween, this most likable of Mets teams, and much, much more. You can listen or subscribe to all of our wonderful Amazin’ Avenue Audio podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, Spotify, or listen wherever you get podcasts. Follow Brian on Twitter (@BrianXBaker) and Instagram (@BrianBakers), and check out Epitaph Records for new releases and tour dates for Bad Religion, Beach Rats, and Fake Names. Check out AmazinAvenue.com for all your Mets needs, and make sure to follow the site on Twitter (@AmazinAvenue), as well as hosts Chris McShane (@ChrisMcShane) and Brian Salvatore (@BrianNeedsaNap).
