POPULARITY
Palm Sunday is more than a celebration—it's a setup. The same crowd that shouted “Hosanna” would soon cry “Crucify Him.” Why? Because Jesus didn't meet their expectations. But what they didn't understand then… Revelation makes clear. In this message, we connect: ➡️ Palm Sunday (Matthew 21) ➡️ The New Jerusalem (Revelation 21–22) What we see is a powerful truth: What was celebrated for a moment… God is preparing for eternity.
Experience Holy Week in a deeper, more imaginative way.

This week, Pastor Joe continues to focus on resistance as a theme for Lent as we journey with Jesus into Jerusalem on what is known as Palm Sunday. He challenges us to take a side: to either align with power and empire or to follow Christ into a new way of love, justice, and communal courage.

In this week's message, we kicked off Holy Week by looking at Matthew 21:1-17. We explored the "directional" nature of Lent—how Jesus' turn toward Jerusalem was a resolute move toward the cross, not a military throne. While the crowd offered their cloaks (their most essential security) and waved palm branches (symbols of nationalistic victory), their hearts were still calibrated to the frequency of Empire. Jesus enters not as "The Hammer" (like the revolutionary Judas Maccabeus), but on a donkey, immediately challenging the "sacred empires" of the temple. He refuses to be the King we want—the one who affirms our tribe and gives quick solutions—so that He can be the King we need: the one who invites us into deep, costly transformation and total obedience to the way of peace. Palm Sunday (Matthew 21:1–11) reveals Jesus as the humble King who calls for authentic worship. Contrasting the crowd's fleeting praise with the disciples' quiet obedience, this message reminds us that true revival begins with simple, faithful surrender to Jesus.

On Palm Sunday, we remember the moment Jesus entered Jerusalem to shouts of “Hosanna,” as a hopeful crowd longed for a Savior. Drawing from Matthew 21, this message explores the tension between the king people expected and the King Jesus actually came to be. This sermon invites us to reflect on our own expectations and recognize Jesus as the true King we need.

In this Palm Sunday Mass Prep, we reflect on the mysticism of Matthew 21 and the triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem. Why do we welcome Jesus… and still struggle to recognize Him?Why does God come gently when we expect power? And what does it mean to lay something down before we understand where He is leading us?This reflection is an invitation to enter Holy Week not with performance, but with awareness — allowing our souls to walk with Christ through the movement of surrender, confusion, and ultimately, resurrection.Peace be with you and with your spirit.

Join us as we reflect on Old Testament prophecies, biblical insights, and what it would be like to stand in the crowd during the most significant week in history. AND… of course, Tammy and I are having a little fun in this one too! We can't help ourselves!
