Child Advocacy Supervisor Jaime Hernandez joined the CASA of Tarrant County team when he realized he could make a bigger impact than with other organizations. This 25-year Airforce Veteran has been in the business of caring for others for a very long time. Today, Jaime has a message for our neighbors here in Tarrant County. "WE NEED YOUR HELP". Last year 663 children were removed from their homes in our county which carries the title of third highest in number of abuse cases in the state of Texas. All is not lost! Jaime is here to tell us how we can help and what organizations like CASA are doing to make a difference. Jaime, thank you for recording with us. Please let me know if you or anyone else from CASA would ever like to put out a PSA or do another recording. Kaitlin Aguilar and Victoria Bittmenn, thank you for getting Jaime and I in the same room for this recording! Find information on CASA of Tarrant County by visiting: https://www.speakupforachild.org/Find them on social media as: "CASA of Tarrant County" Upcoming CASA Events: • North Texas Giving Day (9/22/22): this is an event that will be hosted across the entire North Texas region by the Communities Foundation of Texas. It's a full day of recognizing and raising funds for non-profits throughout North Texas, while also raising awareness. This is a great opportunity to give financially (if that is what some employees are capable of right now), and perhaps work with their workplace, or other organizations to raise awareness or additional funds via matching programs.• Kids on Canvas (10/20/22): This event, Kids on Canvas benefitting CASA of Tarrant County, is back and better than ever! Join us at The 4 Eleven in Fort Worth for delicious bites and drinks, premium raffle prizes, kid-friendly activities, and the opportunity to take home a one-of-a-kind painting. This event is a special one-night gallery event showcasing artwork created by children of all ages that are currently in foster care. This event will help raise funds for critical advocacy and support services to the volunteers who advocate on behalf of the abused and neglected children in Tarrant County. • Clay Shoot (3/3/23): This event will be located at Defender Outdoors in Fort Worth. Our Pull for Kids Clay Shoot raises both money and awareness while having fun at the gun range! Registration starts at 8am, with first pull at 9am followed by lunch & awards. Welcome back to the Treehouse, friends! It's HOT in Texas already and the treehouse is blessedly cool. Ivy and Susie tackle all the usual subjects - Trash TV, TikTok, Mother's Day, and the last few events at Lola's Saloon and Trailer Park before they move. Which one of Ivy's friend's is she mad at at? Susie makes a visit to Daiso, and running errands leads to a big surprise for Ivy! Thanks for the Memories contains a much needed reminder about how to treat others and we wrap up the show with a quick Music Minute. Big thanks to The Funky Panther, It's Probably You, and Corks in Cowtown Podcasts for putting together the Podcasts and PBR mixer. I'm back with LDP from "It's Probably You" and we dive into why...If you feel guilty it's probably you. Robyn shares her struggles with setting boundaries, and having healthy confrontation. Have you really ever sat down to get to know who you are? LDP explains why feelings are not your personality, and gives us the much needed Silo analogy. We take matching energy to the extreme, and discuss how life is so much bigger than we realize. But wherever you go, go where you feel welcome, and always protect the vibe. Plus we discuss the stages of change, and how relapse can actually help you succeed.
Expert father, Lance Perry, from "It's Probably You" joins me for a special recording at Backlot's new podcasting studio! We talk Instagram names vs real names, and the growth and changes in our podcasting community. Ya'll have been wanting drama, so we share the two Fort Worth gossip pages for your stalking enjoyment. We talk Sundance Square past and present, and give you a teaser because events are FINALLY really back. Main Street Arts Festival is around the corner and there is some DRAMA surrounding it. But we don't really care as long as there are VIP potties...
Hello and welcome to another episode of the Drinks after work Podcast! This week, we've got with us Lance Perry aka That LDP. Host & Creator of the podcast called It's Probably You. This is one of those episodes where our personalities just clicked and we had a blast recording. We talked about Lance's background in finance and the duality of his nine-to-five vs his creative outlets like photography, podcasting, and yoga. We get into the behind the scenes of a lot of the work that he does as a photographer and content creator not only capturing the image, but also developing the aesthetic that he has become known for. There are so many stories that were shared, and so I can't wait for you guys to hear them! Gilbert's running out of grapes to sell at the market, and there's only one probable reason why: a mummy! (Probably) You can find & subscribe to our show on iTunes, Google Play, or anywhere else you stream your podcasts. We're on social media, @unexpectedshow on Twitter and @theunexpectedpodcast on Facebook. You can also find out what we're up to on our website, www.theunexpectedpodcast.com. The Unexpected storytelling podcast is written, produced, and directed by Andrew Soucek and Erik Bergstrom. Each story is somehow a work of fiction, and with the exception of public figures like Tony Danza, any resemblance to persons living or dead is coincidental, and unexpected. (It's Probably a Mummy) was written, composed, and performed by DJ Turbulent Tim.
