Detective Weber has investigated over 50 reports of Medical Child Abuse that have led to 13 convictions, 3 cases pending trial. Detective Weber co-authored the APSAC best practice guidelines on Medical Child Abuse titled Munchausen by Proxy: Clinical and Case Management (APSAC Advisor journal March 2018). Weber also authored a separate article in the same issue of the Advisor titled Investigation of Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another and Medical Child Abuse. Detective Weber authored Investigating Medical Child Abuse for the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin journal (August 2018). Detective Weber was awarded the 2016 NCMEC Texas Hero for Children Award for the investigation of Geronimo Aguilar and Medical Child Abuse Cases. Weber is currently assigned to investigate crimes against children for the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office and handles all reports of medical child abuse in Tarrant County. Detective Weber contributes to the true crime/educational podcast “Nobody Should Believe Me,” which examines medical child abuse through previous cases. Garland police on Thursday were investigating the death of a 30-year-old man accused of trying to get away from officers before abandoning his vehicle and jumping off a bridge into Lake Ray Hubbard. The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. North Texans are turning to a Cedars-based produce market that has gone viral on TikTok. At Cedar Market, a bag of avocados can cost $1.50. Two pounds of strawberries are $3.99. With three videos with over a million views in the last few weeks, it's clear North Texans are eager to lower their grocery bills and want higher-quality options; century-old buildings in Dallas' Fair Park have fallen into disrepair as the city and the park's operators grapple with millions of dollars in budget shortfalls; and a woman is suing an Arlington pastor and his church on various claims, including sexual exploitation and negligence. The lawsuit, filed on Feb. 28 in the District Court of Tarrant County, alleges that Ronnie Goines — the founding and lead pastor of Koinonia Christian Church — groomed a church member before sexually assaulting her twice in 2023. The Dallas Mavericks are the Dallas Mavericks and they will be in Dallas.” In other news, the Mavs got some bad news over the weekend though. They could be without their newly acquired star for a handful of games. According to the Mavericks' injury report late Sunday afternoon, Davis has a left adductor strain. He is expected to miss multiple weeks, according to a person familiar with Davis' status; the Tarrant County sheriff's office has notified the public of the year's first in-custody death at the county jail Saturday. The inmate, whose identity has yet to be reported publicly by the county medical examiner's office, died at John Peter Smith Hospital two days after attempting suicide. The 36-year-old man is one of nearly 70 people who have died in custody at the jail since Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn took office in 2017; the Trump Administration's proposed 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada have been delayed, but a government economist warns that Texas will be “in the line of fire” if they are eventually put in place. Orrenius said her team had done a “back of the envelope” calculation into what a 25% tariff on Mexico could do to the Texas economy, and found a 15-30% decrease in GDP growth.
