This passage is a God-wink passage for me. I volunteered to speak on this passage at PWOC here in Italy and the day I was scheduled to share was actually election day 2024 in the states. On a day that's filled with people voting and responding to the results out of their own wisdom, we were studying a passage that reminds us to think, speak, and respond out of Godly wisdom. Though election day has passed and the results are already in, this passage continues to and will always remind us to think, speak and respond out of Godly wisdom instead of earthly wisdom.Verses: James 3:13-18, James 2:24, James 1:17, Genesis 3:1-6, Matthew 4, Galatians 5:16-26, Romans 15:13 NLT, Matthew 5:43-44 NLT, Leviticus 20:7 NLT, Luke 9:23-25 NLT, 1 Peter 2:9 NLTUnless otherwise noted, all Scripture references are from the English Standard Version.Worship on the Way Out: I Am Yours by NEEDTOBREATHELooking for more ways to connect? On this week's episode of Organize the Unorganized, we cover some of the key CIO unions not yet discussed in great detail, including the UE, ILWU, TWOC and PWOC. There were many other unions that formed the CIO - unions in oil, printing, transport, retail - but the four that we're covering on this episode were four of the biggest and most influential that we haven't yet gotten into. Preparing Your Heart to Serve Eph. 2:10 For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Did you know God has prepared specific works for each of us to do? It may be hugging your child and cleaning a scrape and kissing a boo boo. It may be sharing Christ with your neighbor. Or it may be in a more organized type of ministry, such as at PWOC. Each year at this time we begin the process of interviewing and choosing the executive board for next year's PWOC. These include president, Spiritual Life vp, Programs VP, financial liaison, and administration coordinator. These positions are chosen through an application and interview process. Then the new president chooses the rest of the extended board, for such positions as childcare coordinator, worship leader, publicity, prayer, community reach, hospitality, and participation. Apply for the Right Reason I would like to talk today about ways to prepare your heart to serve the Lord most effectively this year. God is calling some of you to serve on the executive board next year. Others he is calling to serve on the extended board. And others he is calling to serve on support teams or in one-on-one relationships. Some he is calling primarily to serve in your family right now. Wherever God calls us, that calling is noble and beautiful when we respond His way. Phil. 2:20,21 20 I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. 21 For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. Sometimes people desire a board position for the wrong reason. They feel a need for significance and struggle with feelings of low self-worth. Having an official position can temporarily bolster a person's weak self-esteem. People notice you and perhaps admire you and look up to you. But this is the wrong reason to be on the board. If you struggle with low self-esteem, then that need will overshadow your ability to genuinely serve others selflessly. Whenever someone brings a criticism or suggestion for improvement, you may take it personally and feel attacked. When someone doesn't show enough appreciation or approval, you may lash out and complain they don't appreciate you. Our value comes from God, not from our position on a board. If you recognize yourself here, then bring your heart to God for healing. Seek out ladies who can work with you to see yourself as God sees you. Let him heal this area so you will be free to truly serve others freely in the future. The application process itself can be a growing process. Perhaps through the interview time you may not be chosen to serve this year, but will see areas to target for personal growth this year so that you will be ready to serve in the future. It's often also a good growth process to be involved as a team member before actually taking on a board position. If that is the recommendation you receive, receive it graciously and commit to growing and learning all you can until God calls you to something else. Know You Are not Alone Heb. 13:5 I will never leave you nor forsake you. TO APPLY: https://braggpwoc.wordpress.com/2021/02/08/leadership-selection-2021/

We discussed how to make friends with awesome things like: Frg, Spouse Groups, Mops, PWOC, Book Clubs, Deployed Love, and many other options. How many times can we be overwhelmed and anxious with all the circumstances in life? We are reminded to stop and take a breath and be still before the Lord. Carrie Pollack from Cru Military came to share our devotion this week.
I invited one of my mentors and mother of five, Kathie Manning, to teach my Tuesday morning class at PWOC. She reminded us that little is written directly addressing parenting, yet we are to raise these sweet little sinners well. She reminded us that we’ve been chosen and entrusted with the incredible task of teaching our children the Truth, and to raise them in the Truth. Parenting is hard because you rarely get a break, and it can be so mundane. But we must not look at our relationship with our children as an interruption or disturbance. Parents, we must rededicate our hearts to this mission, and this probably needs to happen every single morning. Kathie also shares many great resources. #Parenting, #ChristianParenting, #ParentingWithJesus,

This week Jen's chatting with Tara Howes, a retired Army spouse who's gotten through military life with lots of laughs and facing challenges with flexibility. Tara is the mother of four and the cohost of My Military Life Radio. Over the years of her husband's Army career, she’s become in her words, a "professional volunteer," supporting military families in numerous capacities, including as a parent trainer for Military Child Education Coalition, an Army Community Service Master Trainer, an Army Family Team Building instructor, and as a volunteer for PWOC, the FRG, and more. She says she's loving life post-military and currently resides in Arizona with her husband Dino and four kids. Tara's advice? "Take the overseas assignments!"
