Professor P’s Podcast - Entrepreneurship - Empowerment - Energetics

Welcome, everyone, to the 55th episode of Professor P's Podcast. I am back for the Fall Semester, and I couldn't be more excited to be with you all. I am kicking us off in true Professor Palumbo fashion, and I am coming with a dose of Elixir, that energetic power. Our topic today is The JOURNEY #mastery. Everyone wants the destination—the breakthrough, the answer, the promise fulfilled. But it's the journey that shapes us, heals us, and grows us. The journey is where God teaches us who we really are, and who He really is. Here's the thing, though: sometimes on the journey, we stop moving. We get stuck. We take a campground—something that was meant to be temporary—and try to make it a permanent home. Maybe it's a place of pain. Maybe it's a comfort zone. Maybe it's just familiarity. But the journey isn't about staying—it's about growing. You can't let a season that was meant to shape you turn into a prison that defines you. Don't camp where God called you to pass through. Trust the process of the journey. Even when it's slow, even when it's uncomfortable, even when it feels like everyone else is “further ahead.” Enjoy the journey. Let yourself notice the small victories, the unexpected blessings, the ways God provides strength for each step. You don't have to rush. You don't have to compare. You don't have to camp in yesterday's grief or yesterday's success. Because God's process is perfect. And when you trust His process, you'll realize the journey isn't wasted time—it's the very thing that prepares you for the promise. Questions to ask your listeners while speaking: Where have you been camping that God only meant you to pass through? Are you trusting the process of your journey, or are you fighting it? What would it look like for you to enjoy the season you're in right now, even before the destination? Homework / Call to Action: This week, write down three things about your current journey that you can be grateful for. Not the destination, not what you're waiting on—but right here, right now. Then pray over them and thank God for being with you on the journey. Jump into today's episode to hear more. Remember to connect with me on social media. My handles are below. And I would love for you to subscribe, leave me a review, and share this podcast with everyone you know. Also, if there is a topic you want me to talk about, if you have an empowerment story, or if you are an entrepreneur and would like to be on the show, please send me an email! In just two weeks, students attending Franklin & Marshall College will be back on campus for the fall semester. F&M President Dr. Barbara Altman says the start of a new academic year is the highlight of her year.  “We're expecting a first-year class of about 500, which is pretty much what we planned. I know we might want to talk about the various things going on in higher ed these days, but we're delighted with a very, very talented class of 500”. In addition to serving as President, Dr. Altman is the Board Chair of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AICUP) of Pennsylvania. AICUP is the only statewide organization that serves exclusively the interests of independent, nonprofit higher education within the Commonwealth and exists to complement and support the work of campus leaders. She also recently led the largest fundraising program in the college's history. “We closed that campaign about two years ago and we came in over about 10% over goal. It takes a long time to do a capital campaign like that. Among our most important priorities was raising money to support financial aid for students. We give very generous aid, and we commit to fully meeting a student's aid for all four years there with us. So that's a big part of our budget”. Dr. Altman has been at F&M since August 2018. She says the location in Lancaster, and the reputation of the college is what led her to Franklin & Marshall. “Being in Lancaster is an unbelievable privilege and advantage for Franklin and Marshall. Many schools like us are located in quite isolated places, but we have this wonderful, vibrant, busy, exciting city to work in and we're an open campus, so our our boundaries just meld right into the neighborhoods around us. Our students volunteer, work for paid, do internships, right in Lancaster City and Lancaster County. We love to bring the community to our facilities, as they just came for the Lancaster International Piano Festival, which was held in our beautiful little jewel of a concert hall. The bars are a concert hall, and we're just so lucky to be in the fabric, right in the fabric of a really happening little city. That is a great place for our students to live and work. I'm happy to say that we have about 1400 Franklin and Marshall grads working in the immediate area. It's our third largest alumni group, actually.”Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
