Come celebrate the birthday of the one and only Kim Zimmer herself in The Locher Room on her birthday, February 2. Let's show this four-time Emmy Award-winner some love by raising money for one of her favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Kim made her daytime television debut as Bonnie Harmon on ABC's One Life to Live in 1978. In 1979, she replaced Kathleen Turner in the role of Nola Dancy Aldrich on The Doctors before returning to the role of Echo DiSavoy on One Life to Live. In 1983 Kim took Springfield by storm creating the iconic role of Reva Shayne on the long running Guiding Light. Kim played the part with everything she had for over 20 years earning four Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress. When Kim left Guiding Light in 1990 for five years, she joined the cast of Santa Barbara as Jodie DeWitt Walker and landed some memorable prime-time roles on Seinfeld, Designing Women and MacGyver to name a small few. Kim has starred in many stage roles, including several at The Barn Theater in Augusta, MI including Blood Brothers, Mama Mia, The Lion in Winter, Gypsy, Sunset Boulevard, Hello Dolly! to name a small few. Kim also joined the first North American tour of Broadway's Wicked where she played the role of Madame Morrible.Kim has been married to A.C. Weary for almost 41 years and together they have three children Rachel, Max and Jake. The Buzz Celebrates Laura Wright's 30th year in Daytime television! The actress first got her start on LOVING as Ally Rescott. She would take this character to the spin off, The City. For 8 years after that, she would Reva Shayne's sister, Cassie Layne, on Guiding Light. Currently, for the past 16 years, Wright portrays Carly Corinthos on General Hospital. The ever-popular actor, who first appeared on the CBS daytime drama in 1981, played a character that had seen great joy and tragedy in his life with his soul mate, Reva Shayne, played by Kim Zimmer. In 2002 and 2006, Newman received Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Sadly, Guiding Light left the airwaves in September of 2009 after 15,672 episodes, of which Newman appeared in roughly 3,000. Newman has worked extensively in the theater world, playing leading roles in the musicals The Robber Bridegroom, Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Fantasticks, as well as roles in such diverse plays as Veronica's Room, Titus Andronicus, The Owl and the cat, Medea and The Rainmaker. Media Nite Radio welcomes to the airwaves actor/director Brian Gaskill. Soap fans know Brian from his epic portrayal of "Rafe Kovich" the angel and vampire hunter on the now defunct daytime drama, Port Charles. After the cancellation of Port Charles, Brian went on to star on the daytime drama, Bold and The Beautiful in the role of "Oscar Marone". After his role on Bold and the Beautiful, he went on to star on now cancelled daytime drama, As The World Turns and as Reva Shayne's son, "Dylan Lewis" on the now defunct daytime drama, Guiding Light. Before daytime came calling, Brian made his television debut on the primetime drama, Models Inc. in the lead role of "David Michaels", the son of the founder and owner of Models Inc., whose portrayer was none other than Linda Gray from nighttime drama, Dallas fame. Recently, Brian has been cast as the mysterious bad boy, "Chase", in THE BAY’s upcoming summer special, THE BAY: DARKSIDE OF THE BAY. Additionally, Brian has directed music videos and also has a spoken word poetry album titled, Make It Real, which is available on CD Baby.
