This disturbing simple salvo led people into thirty minutes of suspense and horror sprinkled with puns from a creepy host, all of which can now be heard again in sparkling audio quality from Radio Archives. Inner Sanctum Mysteries was the brainchild of producer Himan Brown, inspired by the unsettling creaking door in the basement of a studio where he once worked. Brown took that inspiration and built around it a formula that lived on beyond the show itself. Stories on Inner Sanctum Mysteries originally included both classic and original tales, the new stories taking center stage as the show continued. With writers like pulp scribes Emile Tepperman and Robert Newman, as well as Robert Sloan, Milton Lewis, and others, it is little surprise that Inner Sanctum is still beloved by fans today. [SHOW SUMMARY] Are you an engineer who wants to stay in a technical environment but move into managerial roles?  Cornell's Engineering Management Masters may be the answer to your prayers. And it comes in two flavors: On campus and online. We're going to learn about both from the directors of the program so tune in. An interview with both the Director of Cornell's Masters in Engineering Management Program and the Executive Director/Senior Lecturer of Engineering Management at Cornell University. [SHOW NOTES] Welcome to the 516th episode of Admissions Straight Talk. Thanks for joining me. Before we dive into today's interview, I want to mention a free resource at Accepted that can benefit you if you are applying to graduate engineering programs. Applying to graduate engineering programs, what you need to know is a free downloadable guide that can guide you through a process you've never been through before. It's not the same as applying to college. Download your complimentary copy. Our guests today are Dr. Patrick Reed and Professor Robert Neuman. Dr. Reed is the director of Cornell's Masters in Engineering Management program or the MEM. He's joined today by Professor Robert Newman, Executive Director and Senior Lecturer in Engineering Management at Cornell University. Hello, Dr. Reed and Professor Newman. Welcome to Admissions Straight Talk. [1:37] Dr. Patrick Reed: Good afternoon. I'm delighted to speak with you both. Let's start with how I normally like to start a podcast. Dr. Reed, what is the Engineering Management program at Cornell University? Can you provide an overview of, first of all, the on-campus program? [1:43] Dr. Patrick Reed: Yeah, so the first thing is, just to clarify, what type of degree it is. It's our master's of engineering, so it's a professional degree. Within this, it's in the College of Engineering, and Engineering Management itself is a program where we are bringing folks that typically have engineering or STEM training, and then they want to continue in a technology-driven environment while simultaneously training them into the skill sets that links them into business and putting them into a trajectory where their future career is more focused in transitioning the technologies to market and thinking about management roles. It's that interface where it's a nice balance where you get individuals that can be involved all the way down to the technical specifications and design stage of technology, and translating it into its ultimate societal use and marketing, and the more management-driven, and I would say entrepreneurial driven opportunities. Now, in terms of the on-campus program, can you just go over what people will be studying? ]3:07] Dr. Patrick Reed: Sure. What folks will be doing when they come to the program – it's a typical version of the on-campus – is a two-semester program. When they come, they will be taking a mixture of our core courses and then some of our electives. They'll be taking courses in project management and data analytics, economics and finance, decision making, and leadership seminars. We'll also want them to get a broader training, so they'll be taking electives in organizational behavioral. It's one of those things where it's not just enough to have the technology or the idea or the design. You have to put that within the institution and market context that you want. Then one of the defining traits of our program is that it's open to nine specialization credits and a lot of that is taken across colleges can be within engineering, it could be within the business school, or even more broadly. With that, our popular tracks, consulting analytics leadership, we have real estate and construction management, sustainability and renewable energy, entrepreneurship.

Catch up with The Lewis Family in The Locher Room. Joining me for the hour are Rebecca Hollen (Trish), Robert Newman (Josh) and Krista Tesreau Strauss (Melinda Sue). Rebecca Hollen was the first Lewis to arrive in Springfield in August of 1981 with Robert Newman following soon after in 1981 and with Krista Tesreau joining in 1983. Rebecca made her daytime television debut on As the World Turns in the role of Tina Cornell in 1978 before joining Guiding Light in 1981. She played the role of Trish until November of 1985 and returned to the show a few times over the years. In addition to Tina and Trish, she played the part of Peggy Lazarus on Another World. Before working in daytime, Rebecca made a living working on stage and in commercials for Nabisco and Hallmark to name a few. Robert Newman played Joshua Lewis on and off the canvas for 28 years. Since Guiding Light left the air, he has appeared on stage, in primetime and on film in several high-profile roles. Some of those roles include The Amazing Spider Man 2, Homeland, House of Cards, Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU to name a few. He just took over the role of Ashland Locke on CBS' The Young and the Restless and the fans can't wait to see what trouble Robert stirs up in Genoa City.Robert's first airdate on Y&R is February 9th. Krista Tesreau Strauss played Melinda Sue Lewis for six years before departing Springfield for good in 1989. Fans were always happy to see her return over the years and were thrilled when she came back to the show at the end of the series to bring the "Four Musketeers" together one last time. Krista also returned to daytime television as Andi Klein on Santa Barbara. She assumed the role of the tantalizing Tina Roberts on One Life to Live in 1994, and played that role for three years. Kim Zimmer and Robert Newman are known by millions as daytime's Josh and Reva, supercouple of the CBS drama Guiding Light. Since GL went off the air for good in 2009 (with Robert and Kim in the very last scenes of the series), the pair moved on to new gigs on stage and TV - some of them together!Except for a couple of breaks, Robert spent 28 years on Guiding Light as Josh; Kim spent 21 years in Springfield and hauled away four Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. In this visit to The Richard Piet Show, Robert - who was nominated for two Soap Opera Digest awards and four Daytime Emmys in his role as Josh - talks about the effects of COVID-19 on the industry and what he's doing next (at least a little about it!). He and Kim also speak frankly of their feelings about Guiding Light's cancellation. At its end, GL was the longest running daytime drama on TV - having started on radio in 1937, then moving to TV in 1952.You will also hear them speak fondly of The Barn Theatre in Augusta, Michigan where summer stock audiences have enjoyed them year after - sometimes in the same production. Robert and Kim have traveled the country visiting similar stages and audiences from coast to coast.
