Evil Island have announced their debut album, Terraform The Afterlife, arriving August 14 via Blowed Out Records. Born from the creative firestorm that followed The Blood Brothers' 2024 reunion tour, the record finds Johnny Whitney, Cody Votolato, Mark Gajadhar and Autry Fulbright pushing their collective chemistry into bold new territory. In this episode, Johnny and Cody explain the story behind Evil Island, how The Blood Brothers 2024 tour was the springboard for the new band and why it feels like they are operating at the height of their songwriting. The two share their views on the importance of a good producer/band relationship and why longtime friend Ross Robinson was not only a perfect fit for the record, but more like a 5th member. Johnny shares his experience of relearning to sing after a 9-year break, why he was motivated to become a singer again and why he feels like he's reached his best singer and lyricist self. The two explain how creating uncomfortable space in the studio led to a deeper comradery, more reliance on instincts and yielded better performance. They discuss how their songwriting has developed from their younger selves, how that allows more freedom of expression, and we hear some new songs from Terraform The Afterlife.Evil Island Blowed Out RecordsTour Stories supported by Kingston Union who is having their Summer Slip On sale now. On this week's rerun episode of Artist Friendly, Joel Madden is joined by Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach. More than 20 years since their inception, Papa Roach continue to thrive. Their 2000 album Infest seems to grow bigger every year as new people discover songs like “Last Resort” and “Blood Brothers.” They also remain on the road in support of their 2022 LP Ego Trip, including wrapping the second leg of their own Rockzilla tour and supporting Shinedown across the U.S. last year. “I'm not good when shit's just calm, quiet, still — I need some chaos,” Shaddix told Alternative Press in 2022. “I've got too much energy inside, and if I just sit stagnant, it drives me fucking mad. I need that release — that's why I go run all the time. That's why I go to the gym, because I'm an energetic being. So performing is such a healthy experience for me. I get to explode, physically and emotionally.” ------- Listen to their Artist Friendly conversation on Spotify. ------- Follow Artist Friendly! (4) James Tabor challenges the tradition that John the fisherman was the "beloved disciple" at the crucifixion, arguing instead that it was James, Jesus' blood brother. He positions James as the legitimate successor and leader of the "Nazarene movement" in Jerusalem, citing the Gospel of Thomas and James' authoritative role at the Council of Jerusalem in 50 CE. By emphasizing the role of biological brothers like James, Jude, and Simon, Tabor highlights the central importance of the Jesus family in maintaining the movement's leadership and integrity until James' martyrdom in 62 CE.

To begin to understand the machinations and methods of the Hennessy organised crime outfit, you turn to a grim and unforgettable image: that of Barry Moore, who was lured to a house, brutally tortured, and branded with the word ‘rat'. That incident was the result of a series of violent events that created an atmosphere of intense paranoia within the Hennessy gang. With key members now in prison, do their surprisingly light sentences mean a temporary solution to an alarming long-term problem? Host: Dave Hanratty Guest: Nicola Tallant For more on this story, listeners can check out Blood Brothers, a new five-part podcast series hosted by Nicola Tallant and Niall Donald, exclusively for subscribers and available now at CrimeWorld.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On episode 21 of the Flex Your Head special episodes, host Jason Schreurs welcomes back his friend Donald Kennedy. Together, they try to make sense of The Blood Brothers' 'Burn, Piano Island, Burn'. This truly bizarre album was poised for something big, yet was too unapproachable and downright oddball to be appreciated by "normal" people. That spark becomes the thread that pulls the whole sweater apart, because nothing complicates a valley feud like a man of the cloth who doesn't yet know he's family. From there, we dig into the episode's moral pivot: an eyewitness named O'Neill upends the decades-old story of a fatal blaze. No cigarette. Gasoline in the stairwell. The revelation reshapes Angela's strategy and puts Anna and Cassandra's revenge plan under a harsher light. Enter Peter Stavros, a globe-trotting billionaire who does due diligence like other men breathe. He drifts into town, makes an indecently smart offer, and turns a resort pitch into a hostile chess move with a smile—proof that on Falcon Crest, wealth is just a quieter kind of warfare. Meanwhile, Maggie goes straight to the source and asks Richard what really happened the day her memory vanished. He tells the truth about a kiss and a catastrophe, and that honesty builds a bridge stronger than any triangle trope. Chase, now in his bad-boy era, can't compete with clarity, and the marriage fractures on the real fault line: resentment that predates the blast. As Robin's pregnancy turns from plan to person, the household buckles under a different kind of pressure, reminding us that surrogate promises collapse when biology speaks. Then comes dinner. Angela gathers the family and calmly detonates a secret that rearranges every relationship in the room: Father Christopher is Julia's son, Angela's grandson, and Lance's half-brother. The fallout is devastating and controlled—faith shaken, identity split, desire caught in the crossfire—culminating in a final embrace that hints at choices none of them are ready to own. Layered through it all, Richard engineers a public trap to flush out his would‑be killer, because in Tuscany Valley, survival is performance and the stage is always set .If you loved the twists, share this episode with a friend who thrives on elegant scheming, hit follow, and drop your take: whose move was smartest this week—Angela, Peter, or Richard? Your reviews and shares keep the drama coming.
