In this episode of The Impostor Syndrome Files, we explore what it takes to lead through change. My guest this week is Erin Herman, keynote speaker, writer and consultant, whose mission is to help people lead with more humanity. Drawing on her experiences in both the private and public sectors, Erin shares why courage, empathy and a growth mindset are essential for navigating change. Here we talk about what gets in the way of leading change effectively, including outdated workplace systems and cultural resistance to vulnerability. Erin offers powerful insights into the difference between confidence and self-assurance, and how a strong personal value system can be a grounding force when self-doubt or impostor syndrome creep in. We also discuss how to influence our environments at every level, not just from the top.About My GuestFor over 20 years, Erin Herman has worked with executive teams across the globe, including Fortune 500 companies, to lead change that actually sticks. Her leadership career has taken her from the boardrooms of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to the global halls of the United Nations. Along the way, she's built partnerships that created lasting impact—like securing a $300 million commitment to support pediatric research, one of the largest gifts ever made to a children's hospital. One of the projects she's most proud of is the Learning Passport—a digital education platform she co-created with Microsoft and Cambridge University. It now reaches children in more than 40 countries and was named one of TIME's 100 Best Inventions. It's also been ranked the third most influential project in the world by PMI.Erin has spoken at the UN General Assembly, led global initiatives across China, Finland, Italy, and South Africa, and been featured by organizations like the University of Missouri's Bloch School of Business. But at the heart of everything she does is a single goal: helping people lead with more humanity.Whether she's working with C-suite leaders navigating change or high-achieving women ready to stop shrinking and start leading, her work is about creating the kind of transformation that resonates—long after the keynote ends.~Connect with Erin:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/erin-herman-97832217/ Instagram: @eebherm Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/erin.beaton.18 Podvantage Page: https://erin.podvantage.ai/ Website: https://theerinherman.com/~Connect with Kim and The Impostor Syndrome Files:Join the free Impostor Syndrome Challenge:https://www.kimmeninger.com/challengeLearn more about the Leading Humans discussion group:https://www.kimmeninger.com/leadinghumansgroupJoin the Slack channel to learn from, connect with and support other professionals: https://forms.gle/Ts4Vg4Nx4HDnTVUC6Join the Facebook group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/leadinghumansSchedule time to speak with Kim Meninger directly about your questions/challenges: https://bookme.name/ExecCareer/strategy-sessionConnect on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/kimmeninger/Website:https://kimmeninger.com

And I understand the cultural differences, but people were trying to make me palatable to a country music audience.” - Mickey Guyton “Country music literally fell into my lap. “It was a God thing. It was a spiritual thing. It chose me.” - Mickey Guyton “I was like, ‘Why do you think country music isn’t working for me?’ And my husband was like, ‘Because you’re running away from everything that makes you different. Country music is three chords and the truth. Why aren’t you leaning into that?’” - Mickey Guyton “I’m not only pursuing a career for myself, but pursuing a career for people that come after me. How can I help them? This may never happen for me, but how can I help the people that are coming up after me?” – Mickey Guyton “I would say to anyone out there who is struggling to change either physically or mentally or emotionally that you really need to dig deep and find what your “why” is. You are going to have to rely on that every single day when it’s hard.” - Lea Hurley “I’m a major dessert person, so I figured out that I can make nut butter taste like the desserts that I was missing, but still have all the things that I was allowed to have.” - Lea Hurley “I feel like you just have to be plugged into Him, plugged into the Word all the time, so that you can receive what He’s trying to tell you and to be open to where it might come from.” - Lea Hurley ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! You know Patrick Warburton as Putty from Seinfeld, the voice of Joe on Family Guy, or maybe as that very jerky Ken in Bee Movie. In this bite-sized episode, Patrick talks to Dan about what Jerry Seinfeld taught him about leadership, how to survive the highs and lows of a creative career, and why happiness shouldn't wait for success. Last year, Patrick stepped behind the camera to executive produce Suburban Fury, a documentary about the attempted assassination of President Gerald Ford. And if that wasn't enough, he's raised over $26 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through his annual celebrity golf tournament. Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode of On AIRR, Dr. Paul Thomas, reviews advances in the field of TCR sequencing. Dr. Thomas is a faculty member in the Department of Immunology of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. His work has advanced our understanding of innate and adaptive immune responses and TCR specificity with a focus on responses to viral infections. In Episode 18 of On AIRR, Dr. Thomas shares his journey from immunoparasitology to pioneering TCR repertoire sequencing. He began his scientific career studying innate immune responses to parasites during his graduate work in immunoparasitology. Motivated by a desire to use advanced molecular techniques, he moved to St. Jude for his postdoctoral research, where he contributed to the development of TCR repertoire sequencing methods. The discussion covers the evolution from single-chain TCR sequencing to the development of high-throughput paired sequencing methods, culminating in the TIRTL-seq approach. Dr. Thomas explains the technical and computational challenges in TCR pairing, the innovations that made large-scale studies possible, and the importance of data quality and curation in the field. The episode highlights the impact of these advances on understanding immune responses and the future of AIRR-based diagnostics. Marianna Williamson is a mom ,mental health advocate, nonprofit professional, and former elite gymnast who brings both personal experience and professional expertise to supporting athletes through difficult transitions.Starting gymnastics in her hometown of Joplin, Missouri, Marianna's athletic journey took her to the U.S. National Gymnastics Team in the mid-90s, where she proudly represented her country at international competitions including the Goodwill Games in Russia and the Pacific Alliance Games in New Zealand. When injuries in 1995 and 1996 abruptly ended her competitive career and Division I plans, Marianna faced the profound challenges of identity loss and depression—struggles that had few resources available at the time. The support she received from the UNC-Chapel Hill gymnastics program, where she transitioned to coaching, became the foundation for her life's work.Today, Marianna is passionate about ensuring athletes have access to the mental health resources she wished had been available during her own transition. With over 20 years of nonprofit experience at organizations including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis, she volunteers with Athletes for Hope and serves on the Coalition of Athletic Communities for Mental Health. in the 1960's, The Bee Gees became a top draw commercially in both Europe and America. Their sound was similar in vocal style to The Beatles, and they later became one of the best-selling groups of all time. Though the 1970s Disco era gave the band a second life, it's the symphonic pop sounds of the 1960s that first established the band as an important entity.
