Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 founder and Chairman of the Board Ron Romero visited with Wake Up Princeton host Paul Bomleny recently. The museum is a nonprofit organization preserving the history of musicians and bands with Illinois ties while educating visitors about the state's rich music history. The museum is located in downtown Joliet as they bought the historic three-story building in September and are currently in the process of renovating it. Ron says he got the idea for the museum in 2013 but it really became a full time job for him beginning this year. You can donate or become a charter member by going to roadtorock.org. You can also find details there on this year’s inaugural Illinois Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees. They include iconic performers like REO Speedwagon, Chicago and Cheap Trick. A store on the website offers collectible t-shirts in addition to mugs, pins, magnets and other items.
