From Montréal to the world stage, Danièle Sauvageau has been breaking barriers in hockey for decades. She started coaching at just 17, led Team Canada to Olympic medals, and became the first woman to coach in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. She has shaped the next generation of players and paved the way for women in hockey across the country. Robert “Bobby” Kotzur of Poth is among four Texas State University alumni who will be inducted into the Texas State Hall of Honor as the four members for the 2025 Class; the honors were announced recently by the Texas State “T” Association. Kotzur joins Fred Evans, Cyril Friday, and Lynwood Wade in receiving this recognition. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, Tharpe is now widely celebrated as the Godmother of Rock and Roll. Known for her powerful voice, magnetic stage presence, and groundbreaking mastery of the electric guitar, Tharpe broke barriers as one of the first gospel artists to cross into secular music — achieving mainstream success throughout the 1930s and 1940s.

Rod Ross grew up in Pocatello, and after a decorated career as coach of Team USA Bowling and winning multiple gold medals, he will be the first Idahoan ever inducted into the USBC Hall of Fame.

Heather Tschoepe of Floresville was recently elected to membership in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. St. Louis entertainer Chuck Flowers began his musical journey in an interfaith choir, singing alongside the influential gospel duo the O'Neal Twins and Monica R. Butler, who later founded the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. This month, Flowers is being honored as an inductee into the hall of fame.
