RUN Bart Yasso is known as the Mayor of Running and Chief Running Officer at Runner's World until his retirement in 2017. We had the chance to talk with him in person at the Anchorage Runfest back in August. He talks about his running adventures, inspirations, and career with us. Thank you, Bart, for your “wit, wisdom, and insights!” It was so incredible to talk with you in person after the pasta luncheon that weekend. Their brewing space and kitchen are located on the lower level. The loft is on the second level and has indoor and outdoor space where you can enjoy food and beer. They have a kitchen in the space where they make some tasty food, and we recorded our “hot takes” on tasty sandwiches and amazing soup. Yum! You must come to this place for a great meal if you are in Anchorage! DRINK Midnight Sun Brewing Company's beer is also very tasty. We had several a few options from their menu and recorded our breakdown of the beverages while we were there. Midnight Sun Brewing Company has a wide array of styles and the flavors do not disappoint! We loved the “beer forward” board where, after you buy someone a beer, you can post a note telling everyone why you chose to pay it forward to that person. We left a podcast sticker and paid it forward while we were there. It will be great to find out who that beer goes to and which tasty brew that person enjoys! THAT'S A WRAP! Thank you for listening! It’s time for another Quick Bite! This is the last bite-sized bonus from our trip to the Anchorage RunFest. We had a late flight on Monday following our completion of the Half Marathon, so we decided to explore Midnight Sun Brewing Company’s loft and highly recommended beer and food. It was a short 20-minute Lyft from our hotel in downtown Anchorage to Midnight Sun Brewing Company’s loft and brewery. Their brewing space and kitchen are located on the lower level. The loft is on the second level and has indoor and outdoor space where you can enjoy food and beer. They have a kitchen in the space where they make some tasty food, and we got the “Off the Hook” Chorizo Dip. Yum! We loved the “beer forward” board where, after you buy someone a beer, you can post a note telling everyone why you chose to pay it forward to that person. In this quick bite, we talk about the flights our beer tender recommended, both a “light” and a “dark” flight. Each flight was inexpensive and had several tasty options for whatever pleases your palate. We wanted to stay longer and sample more of their beer and food menu, but alas, we had to make our way to the airport. If we get back to Anchorage, we will make a point of getting there when we can stay for a while, have a meal, and enjoy a pint or two. THAT’S A WRAP Want to reach us with a tip, trick, or recommendations? Our email is info@runeatdrink.net. Or you can call with your “runcation” tips at 941- 677-2733. Thank you for listening!
