This could mean a reopening soon. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/11/02/disneyland-quietly-reopens-big-thunder-mountain-railroad-after-two-month-closure/#more-1079934 https://youtu.be/HrqF8Q1Li5Y?si=ugIWjm-XH8Si26aY&t=186 A confidential demolition permit has been filed by the Disneyland Resort for Disney California Adventure. In S5Ep10 of the PRP, Adam symposiums with radiant force of resilience, defiant survivor, corky community catalyst and proud Detroit Machine, Sarah Nitz, who has been preparing for the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon on Sunday October 19th, 2025. Coach Bambi, founder of Machine Athletics, culture missionary, and queen of conviction returns to show to offer her signature blend of mentorship, motivation, and trademark Machine-made wisdom.Sarah & Coach dive into a moving exchange about strength, stewardship, and the evolution of self through adversity. A proud member of both Machine Athletics and WeRun313, Sarah opens up about her journey from cancer diagnosis to comeback — how running became both a refuge and a reminder that healing isn't about returning to who you once were, but embracing who you've become. Coach then ties in the power of belief — reminding us that strength starts in the mind. For Sarah, belief wasn't just mindset—it was survival. That same faith now fuels her running, her purpose, and the light she gives back to others. The squad then explores the spiritual side of sport — how faith, community, and self-compassion can coexist with grit, ambition, and the drive to grow. They talk about what it means to mourn old versions of yourself, to release what no longer serves you, and to run lighter — not just physically, but emotionally. From surviving to thriving, Sarah's story becomes a living blueprint for resilience & grace: proof that desire doesn't age, and passion doesn't need a finish line.Things get even more vulnerable when the crew unpacks mindset and attitude. What does it really mean to trust the process, embrace imperfection, and remember that rest isn't weakness, it's wisdom. Oh the places we'll go when we embody the truth that running is a luxury, a practice of gratitude, and a celebration of what it means to simply be alive and moving forward.Where my OLG's at?! Make me or break me coach! Dog aid?? Runnymoons?! Whale watching?! YOU HAVE TO GO GET IT. Puzzle pieces, self belief & tracking marathons in bars oh my! This and so much more in a deeply inspiring, joy-charged, and perspective-shifting edition of the PRP.Recorded Tuesday October 14th @ 6:00PM EST

"Fast, slow, good weather, bad weather — you are out there doing something that so many people are never going to do, and that's so cool." Caroline Moss has a dream: to run the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon. As a New Yorker, it's her favorite day of the year. The catch: Caroline has never been a runner — until now. In this series, we're following author, creator, theater producer, Saved by the Bell super-fan, proud millennial, and professional shopper Caroline Moss as she embarks on a quest to start running and run the race of her dreams. Caroline Moss Wants to Run a Marathon, Episode 1 Caroline Moss Wants to Run a Marathon, Episode 2 In Episode 3, Caroline updates us on hitting a major roadblock in her marathon dreams: a broken foot that took her off the run for the entire summer. She talks about dealing with an injury — a non-running-related one — just as she was hitting her running groove, and about how she spent her summer. She shares her unbridled enthusiasm for the New York City Marathon, and, unsurprisingly, takes us on detours including Lurlene McDaniel books, Baby-Sitters Club personality theories, and what it was like being at the Dawson's Creek reunion in New York City last month. Start with a sunrise 5K in costume, add a social 10K with better photo flow, then stir in a half marathon that put course design under the microscope. That's the arc of this Wine and Dine weekend—equal parts magic, logistics, and heart. We walk you through the expo's new rhythms , a refreshed core runDisney merch line with some questionable shirt cuts, and the small tweaks that make or break a big weekend when sleep is scarce and plans are tight. From Moana-and-Maui family fun to smart walk-run comebacks, the 5K and 10K reminded us why these miles feel so welcoming. We share how the 10K's streamlined finisher photos and steady water stops kept the vibe smooth, even without electrolytes on course. Then we get candid about the half: the narrow out-and-back to Blizzard Beach that packed two-way traffic on one side, frayed tempers, and raised safety concerns. We talk heat, hydration gaps inside the parks, and where an extra aid station near Tower of Terror could change the day. Along the way, we spotlight wins that matter—stomach issues managed with grit, an age-80 finish powered by training and belief, and PRs earned in sticky weather. What tied it all together? Community. Our Disney Springs meetup turned buttons and cookies into new friendships, and Myra's legendary bus energy somehow wrangled a flawless group photo. Out on the course, familiar cheers, shared pacing, and quick humor turned long miles into memorable ones. If you care about runDisney tips, course strategy, expo intel, and how to build a better race weekend, you'll find plenty here to steal for your next start line. Also Emily from hollarhype is back on the podcast and brought along two Friendly Randos, Debbie and Troy. In this episode we are joined by Izzi Batt-Doyle. Izzi is a two-time Olympian, the current Australian record holder in the Half Marathon (67:17) and 10km road (31:12), and the third fastest Australian woman ever over the marathon (2:22:59). But Izzi's story is about much more than fast times. From growing up in Adelaide, to chasing opportunity through college running in the U.S., to competing at two Olympic Games, Izzi's path has been shaped by something deeper than performance: a commitment to living an extraordinary and authentic life. In this conversation, Izzi shares: The experience that changed everything — a trip to India at 16 that opened her eyes to a bigger world and sparked the belief that her life could be more. Why her definition of success has nothing to do with comparison — and everything to do with attitude, effort, and joy. How passion fuels resilience — and why loving the process matters more than the result. How she has developed the confidence to run to her strengths and find out what's possible. How three core values she wrote down almost ten years ago continue to shape her running and life. The exciting opportunities that await. With an honours degree in Psychology, Izzi blends science with lived experience. Her approach is a masterclass in staying grounded while pursuing personal excellence. If you care about performance, fulfilment, and doing what you love with authenticity, this episode will stay with you.

Daniel opens the show recounting Adam's disastrous Whataburger delivery that turned into a Grubhub fiasco, before giving an anxious update on his upcoming Disney half marathon. He's been struggling with calf cramps late in training runs and worries he may not finish the race. The conversation detours into jokes about “sacrificial calves” and then “crabs,” prompting Adam to share his own college-era experience with them and an unfortunate roommate story.Adam announces on-air that his solo show The Geeky Gay will scale back from five days a week to one, citing stress, workload, and life balance. Daniel reacts with mock concern over how he'll fill the void in his podcast listening. They then discuss listener engagement, why podcasters thrive on feedback, and the art of keeping stories fresh between multiple shows. Daniel later recounts his positive experience with a new gay-friendly medical practice called Pineapple Healthcare, his new provider “Derek,” and the awkwardness of self-administered medical swabs. This leads to an extended tangent about cotton, bodily discomfort, and AI chatbots in their live chat.Adam follows with his own medical confession—dealing with a hemorrhoid—and his fear of going to doctors. The two spiral into a hilarious yet informative chat about hemorrhoids, healthcare phobias, and the absurdities of the American medical system. They pivot to discuss Big Fatty Online's AI podcast experiment, Vegas trips, and Daniel's fandom of Critical Role, leading to Adam's bemusement over Dungeons & Dragons as “community theater fantasy.”The Contact segment features voicemails mourning the deaths of Diane Keaton and Ace Frehley, a discussion about spam calls after refinancing, and Kathy Bacon's tech question about how data brokers instantly spread personal info after a credit pull. Daniel explains data brokers and public credit reports, while Adam reacts with disbelief at the scale of legal data sharing. The show closes with The News Game, a messy round of questions ranging from Devo concerts to Chicago's “rat hole,” followed by Birthdays, featuring Eminem, Alan Jackson, Michael McKean, and George Wendt. They end laughing about aging, Google photo memories, and the show's long history together.Email: Contact@MixMinusPodcast.comVoice/SMS: 707-613-3284

Doug welcomes Frank McGillin from the Nantucket Athletic Association to talk about one of the island's favorite fall traditions…..the 14th Annual Nantucket Half Marathon. Recognized by Runner's World as one of North America's top coastal courses, the event showcases Nantucket's beauty and community spirit, starting and finishing at Bartlett's Farm. Frank shares how the race has grown over 14 years into a signature island event, the local programs it helps support, and the fun traditions like the Kids Race and the friendly Scallop Cup rivalry between the Nantucket Police Department and U.S. Coast Guard Station Nantucket. While registration is closed, they look ahead to next year and how islanders can get involved through the Monument Running Group's weekly runs.
Andreas Almgren returns to the show, this time fresh off a bronze in the 10,000 meters at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo. This marked Sweden's first World Championships medal in a long-distance track event—and the nation's first ever in the 10,000m. For Almgren, it was the culmination of a journey from middle-distance prodigy to one of Europe's most versatile runners. He burst onto the scene with a World U20 bronze in the 800m in 2014, followed by a 1:45.59 personal best in 2015 after setting the Swedish U20 record (1:45.65) in 2014.In January 2025, Almgren became the first European to break 27 minutes for 10,000m on the road, clocking 26:53 in Valencia. Months later, he ran 12:44.27 in Stockholm to break the European 5,000m record. He also holds Swedish records of 13:05 in the 5,000m on the road and 59:23 for the half marathon. His Tokyo bronze now sits alongside these marks, proof he can pair records with championship hardware. As of September 2025, Almgren is preparing for Valencia again, this time to chase the European half marathon record of 59:13. At 30, he stands at the peak of his powers, showing how patience and adaptability can redefine both an athlete and the record books.Tap into the Andreas Almgren Special. Episode 208 transports us to the heart of Amish country as we dive deep into the Bird in Hand Half Marathon weekend. "It's like running through a postcard," our friend, Ryan, commented. From camel selfies to cornfield runs, our special guests Ellie, Carrie, Tracy, and Kim capture the pastoral magic that makes this event unlike any other running experience. You'll feel like you're right alongside them as they describe the horse-drawn buggy pacers, the challenge of the rolling hills, and the remarkable community spirit that draws runners from across the country. And the legendary post-race chicken dinner? Our guests can't stop raving about it—a culinary highlight that rivals the scenic course itself. Before our main feature, we introduce an exciting new collaboration with Hannah from The Start Line Co, who's created a collection of running-themed temporary tattoos specifically for the Rise and Run community. These sweat-resistant designs—including "fueled by plastic cheese" and the Rise and Run logo—add a fun dimension to race day preparation. We also check in on training schedules as Wine and Dine Weekend approaches in just five weeks, with Marathon Weekend following 16 weeks later. The hosts acknowledge this challenging middle point of training where motivation wanes but dedication becomes crucial. As Alysha beautifully expresses in her moving piece "I Am a Runner," this sport connects us through shared experiences and determination despite the challenges. This episode delivers equal parts practical insights and heartwarming community connection. Take a run with The Human Potential Running Series podcast. For Episode 71, HPRS Race Director John Lacroix and co-hosts Thomas Stott and Megan Storms reveal an exciting project spearheaded by Tommy. In this episode, we crack open a big idea: the future Human Potential documentary. Not a highlight reel. Not a brag piece. But a raw, honest exploration of what it really means to show up on trails, in all your humanness, and become something more. John shares the deeper vision behind the project and how it connects to our core belief in Human Potential. They discuss a 10-part docuseries unfolding across the 2026 season, from RegFest to finish lines and the messy middle in between, which has now morphed into a feature film. We talk about the “why” behind it: To show the human side of trail adventures, not just the triumphs To explore what people find out there when they're willing to go all in To give outsiders a real answer to “Why would anyone do this?” To help our own community reflect on what their journey means We're starting to gather footage now, and we're looking for folks in the HPRS community who are willing to be part of it. You don't need to be fast. You don't need to be flashy. We're looking for: Grit Vulnerability People who are willing to go deep And your real, natural self on camera If that sounds like you, or someone you know, reach out. This is a story we're telling together.
