In 2020, I finally launched an idea that I'd been holding onto for years. Whole / Self Liberation was an online school supporting folks to find their unique ways of making a difference. Our first and only season of classes ran from January through May of 2021.In this episode, I have Violeta Lerma, our Director of Marketing, and Stephanie Briggs, our Community Nurturer, join me to talk about our experiences of creating, amplifying, and implementing the vision and plans that we had for WSL. We talk about our different perspectives, what was challenging for us, what we learned and what it was like creating something that we had never seen before. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Love You Give talks to Andrea Ranae Johnson, vision-led facilitator and coach, about white supremacy, making actual change at the grass roots, and about whether shame is an effective tool for change. https://www.andrearanae.com/speaking @andrearanaej

If we really want to create change in this world, it starts by looking at ourselves and the roles we play in what we’re trying to change. In the words of Andréa Ranae, “The system you wish to dismantle resides within you — and the rest of us, too.” And this week, I’m so excited to dive deeper into this perspective with you by sharing this conversation with Andréa. Andréa Ranae is a teacher, coach, and the founder of Whole/Self Liberation — an online school offering education and resources for people who are ready to make a difference in this world. She has such a powerful way of teaching — especially when it comes to her perspective on liberation and wholeness in both social justice and in creating impact in general. We all have incredible power within us to create change. And I know that what Andréa shares in this episode will get you thinking about your own power and the impact you’re already creating, whether you realize it or not. Let’s dive in. Today's interview is probably one of the most gentle conversations I've ever had about some seriously charged topics - race, social justice, boundaries, capacity, positions of power, and more. The nature of the conversation totally speaks to how our guest, Andréa Ranae Johnson shows up in the world - with tons of compassion, curiosity, and commitment to contributing to solutions and better systems. In the interview we talked about the larger system we're all part of, and all of the identities we hold. And we explored how to have our needs and wants met, to not only be OK, but to thrive. Enjoy!
