I know first hand that it’s way too easy to slip into the rat race of competition and comparison. In 2016, I hit my first million-dollar year in my business...yet, I was totally miserable. At the time, I was focused on numbers and status, rather than what would actually bring me real happiness and c…

Have you ever felt bad about feeling bad? We often feel shame for feeling anything negative. We think, “If I'm not happy, that means something is wrong with me.” The truth is there's no way to avoid negative feelings in life, but there are some things you can do to help yourself understand them and even embrace them. In this episode I'm joined by Zakia Haughton, CEO and business systems extraordinaire, to talk about how getting truly in touch with your feelings can make everything in your life flow with more ease. In this episode you'll hear: How Zakia got to the place of embracing ease and flow in her own life, and why she says it's about so much more than balance [1:10] Why she says that experimentation and curiosity has played a key role in her personal journey [5:12] The ways we can use nature to guide us through our “seasons” [10:41] Specific practices Zakia uses to break feelings of discomfort, and an experience she had that showed her that no feeling is permanent [23:55] Why she has always had issues with the concept of “perfection” [40:07] A powerful gift that Zakia has been giving herself lately, and why she realized this needed to happen [45:20] A final reminder on why we shouldn't be resisting our feelings when they arise [48:22] Zakia's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/zakiahaughton Zakia's website: https://www.zakiahaughton.com
CHOCOLATE! It's one of the most popular sweet treats all over the world — And I'd be surprised if you said you didn't love to enjoy it from time to time… I know I do! But why am I talking about chocolate right now? Well, one of the main ingredients found in chocolate — cacao — has a LOT more benefits than you might think. It's actually been used in sacred ceremonial settings since ancient times to enhance our connection to Mother Earth and invoke feelings of ecstasy. In this week's episode author, founder, and “cacao goddess” Christine Hernandez shares the transformative powers of cacao and how you can incorporate this medicine into your own life. In this episode you'll hear: Why Christine says that cacao not only changed her life, but saved it [0:57] The way she came to realize that it was a big part of her ancestry and family history [4:12] What you can expect when taking the medicine, and what Christine's own ceremony process looks like [7:48] Her thoughts on mainstream cacao, plus why it matters so much where your cacao comes from [13:41] The positive changes in the younger generation that Christine is seeing in terms of their knowledge of, and respect for, the medicine [26:36] How she is now making her Maltyox Method accessible to even more people [28:49] What Christine does to connect to her sensual, feminine, and divine self [30:28] Why allowing ourselves to play more is so important for each one of us [34:21] Exciting announcements Christine has about the republishing of her book [37:02] Read the show notes: https://www.melyssagriffin.com/christine-hernandez-111/ Christine's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christineolivia_/ Christine's website: https://www.iamchristineolivia.com/ Christine's Maltyox method: https://maltyoxmethod.com/ Christine's next Maltyox event on June 12th: http://maltyoxmethod.com/events/maltyox-method/ Christine's book: https://www.amazon.com/Child-Magic-Christine-Olivia-Dargas/dp/1970124008 Christine's Online Program: https://theheartofcacao.teachable.com/ Other Books Mentioned: https://www.chickensoup.com/

Are you interested in the “spirituality thing” but not quite sure where to start? The spiritual space can feel intimidating, especially if you are just beginning to dip your toes in. There also tends to be a lot of misconstrued narratives surrounding meditation and spirituality in general. In this episode, spiritual guide, meditation teacher, transformational speaker, and international best-selling author, Sah D’Simone, shares what spirituality can look like for you and the power this practice can have. Are you ready to meet your inner child? More importantly… Do you know who they are and why they matter? Inside all of us there’s an inner child that was once wounded. And that inner child can have some pretty big effects on who we are and how we function. Inner child work, also referred to as inner child healing, is a way to address our needs that haven't been met as children and heal the attachment wounds we formed. When you do inner child work, you become open to — and aware of — an entirely new world of possibilities for yourself. In this week's episode I’m joined by speaker, coach, and entrepreneur Matt Cama to take a look at why understanding your inner child is so important and discuss how you can begin healing your inner world so you can experience emotional freedom in your life. In this episode you’ll hear: Why having empathy for ourselves and others is the foundation for the entire healing process [4:15] Who our inner child is, and two of the most powerful questions Matt asks to help. uncover it [6:48] Why he focuses on the inside game rather than the external to uncover patterns showing up in his clients’ relationships [14:41] What happens to our external world when we do the necessary inside work first [18:02] Why Matt feels so strongly that playing and having joy is everything in life and business [20:49] The key things from our childhood that are impacting and influencing our current relationship template [26:58] His process for repairing and loving parts of himself that he’s discovered through the inner work he’s done [34:09] Ways to get the courage to move from awareness to taking action [41:02] A recent relationship check-in that Matt had with his partner, and the critical lessons that he was reminded of from doing this exercise [48:56] Read the show notes: https://www.melyssagriffin.com/matt-cama-108 Matt's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/matt_cama/ Matt's Website: https://www.mattcama.com/ Matt's Inner Child Workshop: https://www.mattcama.com/inner-child-workshop Matt's Retreat: https://www.mattcama.com/deep-end-retreat Matt's Twitter: https://twitter.com/mattcama Matt’s YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnotzEfXJr-MN8kGjlUQ7Sw
Do you ever feel like no matter how much “work” you do on yourself, you still wind up stuck in the same patterns? Maybe you’ve read all the books, attended countless therapy sessions and done a lot of introspection — and I mean, a LOT — but the changes you want to make just aren’t happening. Maybe you feel like you know all the answers, but you can’t get out of the start and stop cycle you’re caught up in. If you’ve ever felt this way… you’re not alone. In this episode I’m joined by Dr. Nicole LePera, author, psychologist, and creator of the popular Instagram account @the.holistic.psychologist, where she shares her journey of inner healing and how we can all start to make real change in our lives. As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Nicole often found herself frustrated by the limitations of traditional psychotherapy. She wanted more for her patients—and herself— so she began developing a united philosophy of mental, physical and spiritual health that equips people with the tools necessary to heal themselves. She shares the life-changing results she discovered along her holistic psychology journey to nearly 4 million “self-healers” on Instagram, through her programs and with her new book “How to Do the Work”. In this episode you’ll hear: Why Nicole made the shift from being a therapist to creating her own protocol for healing [1:09] The first steps for taking action to stop living life on repeat [3:34] What she means when she says that we need to truly embody change for it to work [5:51] What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and why it’s so important to be aware of how our feelings live in our bodies [7:39] What’s really happening with our feelings when we’re overwhelmed [15:13] How we can start to use breathwork and other techniques to reconnect with ourselves and make sustainable changes in our lives [17:41] The impact of not being fully authentic and honest with our own self, and Nicole’s personal journey demonstrating this [33:19] Why putting yourself out there and presenting yourself to the world as an entrepreneur can bring up so many emotions [36:35] What to keep in mind about feedback and subjective interpretations of our work [38:58] How Nicole started considering herself and not just others, and the way this helped her healing process [45:22] Read the show notes: https://www.melyssagriffin.com/nicole-lapera-107 Nicole’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.holistic.psychologist/ Nicole’s Self-Healers Guide: https://yourholisticpsychologist.com/waitlist/ Nicole’s Book: https://yourholisticpsychologist.com/book/ Nicole's Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtEWTaMjqOH8J1Gy06Ey0Yg Nicole's Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/the.holistic.psychologist/ Nicole’s Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/selfhealers-soundboard/id1564136756
At some point or another you’ve probably wondered “why am I the way I am?”. And to figure it out, you may have taken some of the big personality tests like the Enneagram, Myers-Briggs or DISC -- or maybe you’ve turned to Astrology for some answers. But have you ever heard of Human Design? Human Design offers a map, or a manual, based on a combination of the I Ching, astrology, Kabbalah, Hindu-Brahmin chakra system, and quantum physics that indicates how you are unique as a person -- in other words, what makes you tick. By understanding your Human Design, you can better align yourself to your energy, intuition and the world. In this week’s episode I’m joined by Victoria Jane, Human Design expert and former Silicon Valley tech employee turned entrepreneur. Victoria spent 10 years hustling in Silicon Valley before reaching a major turning point that changed everything and led her to study Human Design and how it can help people. Today she works with growth-oriented, professional women to use Human Design to live and thrive - with less hustle and more flow. In this episode you’ll hear: A breakdown of Human Design and how it can uplevel your life [5:22] How Human Design has changed Victoria’s own life in a big way [6:58] What is “authority” in Human Design, and the different kinds that exist [11:33] The critical role that your nervous system, and your own self-care, will play in this journey [25:43] A time in my life where I didn’t feel connected to my own identity, and Victoria’s thoughts on how my Human Design could have played a part in this [29:46] The various ways you can being using Human Design in business [44:52] Read the show notes: https://www.melyssagriffin.com/victoria-jane-105 Victoria’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/victoriajane.hd Victoria’s Free “Your Human Design + Work Flow” Guide: https://victoriajane.ck.page/ Victoria’s Website: https://www.victoriajane.co/ Visit Melyssa’s Website: www.melyssagriffin.com Follow Melyssa on Instagram: www.instagram.com/melyssa_griffin Follow Limitless Life™ on Instagram: www.instagram.com/limitlesslifepodcast
There comes a point in almost every entrepreneurial journey where the need to switch things up is no longer just an option — it’s a necessity. Whether due to burn-out, a major shift in your industry, or a total loss of passion for what you built your business on in the first place, you’re going to need to pivot at some point or another. In this week’s episode I’m joined by creative entrepreneur, online educator, speaker and world-class travel blogger, Glo Atanmo to talk about how pivoting can actually end up being the best thing for you and your business. In this episode you’ll hear: How Glo knew that she needed to make a pivot in her life, and the uncomfortable place she found herself in when this was happening [1:13] What she means when she says that she’s now doing it for the “90 percent” [3:20] The intentional approach she is taking with allies in the social justice movement [7:13] What can become possible in our lives when we focus on mastery [15:35] The ways that Glo balances setting boundaries with the desire to serve others [20:41] Why she feels it’s so important to hold space for what she calls “the suck” [29:11] The reasons she recently decided to take a social media detox, and what this looked like for her [38:22] What can be so scary about creating space, plus the practices she has incorporated to allow for this in her own life [39:43] How Glo continues to maintain a sense of creativity and fun each and every day [48:08] Pivoting your business or life isn’t easy, but most of the time it’s what leads us to the next level Read the show notes: https://www.melyssagriffin.com/glo-atanmo-104 Glo’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glographics Glo’s Courses: https://learnwithglo.com/ Getaway House: https://getaway.house/ Visit Melyssa’s Website: www.melyssagriffin.com Follow Melyssa on Instagram: www.instagram.com/melyssa_griffin Follow Limitless Life™ on Instagram: www.instagram.com/limitlesslifepodcast
Have you ever thought about the difference between self-care and self-love? Usually, we confuse the two. We think self-love looks like snuggling under the covers with a good book, taking a bubble bath, putting on a face mask. But really… that’s how we care for ourselves. Self-love is something so much deeper. My friend Nikia Phoenix and I discussed it on this week’s episode, and I know her perspective is going to blow your mind. Nikia is a model, writer, dream instigator, the founder of Black Girl Beautiful, and an amazing advocate for self-love. She joined me on this episode to talk about what self-love is to her, how her own self-love journey started, and the methods she uses to tap into honoring her whole truth. In this episode you’ll hear: What self-love means to Nikia and how she expresses it to the world [1:03] The way that protecting yourself first gives you space to be able to protect others [6:19] Her thoughts on cultivating honesty in relationships with the people around you [9:47] What started Nikia on this journey to self-love and grew her desire to share it with others [18:18] How you can begin to have real and honest conversations with no expectations [25:27] How Nikia uses healing modalities as a self-love practice, and what you can do to start incorporating them into your own life [33:44] What magic can happen when you do the work of love and service [44:18] Our conversation reminded me of what’s possible when we intentionally honor our wholeness in the ways we practice self-love. Instead of seeking joy or fulfillment in the things that can’t provide it, taking time to practice self-love helps us see they were in us all along. :) Read the show notes: https://www.melyssagriffin.com/nikia-phoenix-103 Nikia’s Website: https://www.blackgirlbeautiful.com Nika’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nikiaphoenix/ The Artist’s Way book Visit Melyssa’s Website: www.melyssagriffin.com Follow Melyssa on Instagram: www.instagram.com/melyssa_griffin Follow Limitless Life™ on Instagram: www.instagram.com/limitlesslifepodcast
Has anyone ever told you that you’re “too sensitive” or to “stop overthinking everything,” particularly by people who strike you as a little bit too insensitive or who you believe might benefit from some more thinking? Well, you may be what is known as a “highly sensitive person,” or HSP. Being HSP doesn’t mean you have a diagnosable condition, it’s a personality trait shared by just 20% of the population that involves increased responsiveness to both positive and negative influences. HSPs process experiences, thoughts, and feelings more deeply than non-HSPs — and with all that processing, overwhelm can happen more easily. We can all feel overstimulated from time to time, but for HSPs it's a way of life. And sometimes that can feel lonely, frustrating, and full of shame. ... But it doesn't have to! In this episode Brooke Nielsen, therapist, writer, speaker and founder of the Therapeutic Center for Highly Sensitive People, discusses what it means to be a HSP and how to appreciate the unique strengths that come along with this trait. In this episode you’ll hear: What is an “HSP” and how many people are born with this genetic trait [3:58] How Brooke is destigmatizing the negativity around being an HSP, and why it’s feels so liberating for her to do this [10:11] The way she coped with her emotions at a younger age and what was the impact of trying to do this [11:16] Her thoughts on male ESPs and how each society views them differently [14:12] What trauma really is, and the role that it plays in the lives of HSPs [22:01] Why just focusing on your mindset and positive thinking isn’t enough to overcome trauma [35:44] What research shows about people having compassion for others [41:01] Best practices for setting energetic boundaries as an HSP [49:43] What to be aware of an HSP in a relationship, and how to educate your partner in the right way [59:16] Tips for running a business as an HSP [64:15] Whether you’re a Highly Sensitive Person or think you might know someone who is, you’ll leave this episode with a deeper understanding of your emotions, empathy and the power that comes from understanding yourself. You may have heard the saying that "Your results are an exact mirror of your thoughts." It's true! In fact, roughly 95% of your choices and habits are driven entirely by your subconscious mind. What that means is that our unconscious mind is largely calling the shots, and if you're not liking the results you're seeing in some area of your life, it's likely because your subconscious beliefs and identities are not in alignment with the results you'd like to have. So...how can you befriend your subconscious mind and create better and more aligned results in your life? That's exactly what this episode is all about! I'm joined by Master Coach, Reese Evans, who is experienced in a variety of techniques -- like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), hypnotherapy, and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) -- to aid clients in reprogramming their subconscious beliefs. This episode is JAM packed with helpful and actionable information to aid you in creating the kind of life you desire. I have to say...it's one of my favorite interviews to date! Reese and I talk about... What Reese’s path to coaching has looked like, and how she realized she could integrate all the parts of her life and still be successful [0:58] How the subconscious mind differs from the conscious mind [9:58] The way that our early experiences in life can lead to lifelong patterns [14:07] How hypnosis, EFT and manifestation can be used as tools in our daily lives [17:32] Why expressing our emotions is good for us in so many different ways [37:59] Her thoughts on “rules” to live by and what to do to become aware of and shift them, if necessary [46:07] A different approach to goal setting and where most people are often going wrong with it [58:19] Some common productivity myths that just aren’t true [63:41] One big lesson (of many) that Reese’s newborn son has taught her [69:24] Links from the Episode: Reese's Company: http://yessupply.co/ Yes Supply's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yessupply/ Yes Supply on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/watchmereese Follow me (Melyssa Griffin) on Instagram for honest conversations about alignment, abundance, and my life. I think we’ve got something twisted when it comes to self love. Self love isn’t face masks or shopping sprees (though it can be!). It’s much, much deeper than that. Self love is… ...Communicating and upholding your boundaries with the people in your life (yes, even if it means they’ll be upset with you or leave). ...Being honest about your needs, both with others and with yourself. ...Gaining awareness around your fears and limiting beliefs so that you can do the work to heal. ...Following your aligned path, even if people judge you or don’t understand. Self love is a lot less about face masks and a lot more about removing the masks you wear that hide your true essence. So how do you go about creating self awareness so that you can embody self love? What practices will help bring you back to your center so you can live life from a place of alignment and wholeness? This is just what my friend, Koya Webb, and I are discussing on this episode of Limitless Life™. Koya is an internationally recognized yoga teacher, celebrity holistic health coach, author, speaker, and vegan activist whose core mission is to promote daily self-care, oneness and eco friendly living to combat some of the some of the world’s biggest challenges including mental health, social injustices and global warming. In this episode, Koya shares how… Self-love isn’t a destination; it’s a journey on which you need to be gentle with yourself and acknowledge it takes practice Fear is feedback that when used to tune into what we need, it shifts our energy back to love Freedom is found when we show up and love without expectation When you come from a place of wholeness, you can give so much more fully to every relationship Specific ways you can find daily self-love within yourself It might feel easy to go through each day and use distractions to cover up or bury how we feel. But if you take time to ask yourself what you really need, you can start to come home to yourself, and use that inner love to create lasting change and love in the world around you. Bottom line: love is the root of who we are and why we’re here. It’s the energy that weaves us all together, so we’ve got to start giving it the attention it deserves. Roughly 6 months ago, I co-created a 1-Year Anti-Racism Action Plan for myself and my company. It was created in June 2020, about a month after George Floyd's tragic murder, as a way to truly pledge my commitment to this work beyond half-hearted promises. Social Justice and white supremacy have been topics I've personally been learning about for about a decade, yet as I looked around my life and business, I saw plenty of unconscious bias and room for improvement (and even things that kind of embarrassed me to admit...more on that in this post!). To me this means that, especially as a white womxn, learning how to dismantle systems of oppression and cause less harm is a lifelong journey. It's a language I can't learn from reading a single book or taking one class, as social justice is an ever-expanding process of self-examination, education, and action. Now that my company and I have had half a year to implement this plan, I wanted to give you a FULL 6-month update to share where we've succeeded, what we're still working on, and what's next. And since Black History Month is kicking off right now, it seems like the perfect time to share this and keep the momentum moving. Let’s dive in. I used to feel my period was something to hide. It was something we just didn’t talk about. So, the day a friend handed me a tampon - out in the open - was a turning point for me. Raven (a member of my Aligned Abundance Mastermind) specializes in helping others find relief from pain experienced when out of alignment and loves to teach the benefits of herbal therapy. I’ve been on a personal journey learning more about my sexual energy, and the ways it’s been repressed, in an effort to deeply connect with myself even more. What I’ve learned is that there is so much more than physical acts when it comes to sexuality and sensuality. It’s really about the energy we have within us. If we’re closed-off or out of balance with that energy, it can actually hold us back from feeling free to live fully in who we are. What would it mean for you to learn to fully embrace and love every part of you? How much could you learn by reconnecting with the sides of yourself you deny? Today’s guest is here to guide you towards reclaiming your sexual power and - as a result - power in every other area of your life. Lacey Haynes is the founder of School of Whole, an amazing feminine empowerment and self-development program, and the co-founder of Everybody Elevated, which has enriched the sexual experience and lives of over a quarter of a million people. For the last decade, she has been committed to teaching women how to lovingly embrace their bodies, and become the fullest, boldest, truest version of themselves. If you’re ready to reconnect to the pieces of you that you haven’t been embracing and begin to embody what’s true to you, get ready and let’s dive on in. There’s a design of perfect balance within each one of us that is unique to our spirit and, with it comes a purpose that is our birthright. Through life, that balance can be disrupted, lowering our frequency and leading us to become stagnant. What do you do when that happens? That’s what Sahara Rose is sharing on this episode of Limitless Life™. The best-selling author of Eat Feel Fresh, Idiot’s Guide to Ayurveda, A Yogic Path, and soon Discover Your Dharma, Sahara has been referred to as “an ancient soul in a modern body.” When she found herself dealing with multiple symptoms that kept her from being the full expression of who she is, she started learning about Ayurvedic medicine in an effort to heal her own imbalances — and it changed everything. Do you ever sense that there’s an inner battle between who you truly are and this perfect version of you that you’ve been conditioned to show up as in the world? Maybe inside you feel creative, expressive, and free. But, on the outside, you’ve had to silence that “messy” part to present a more professional you to be accepted by others. Somewhere along the way, you were taught you had to choose: will I be creative or will I be organized? Will I be laid back or will I be professional? Somewhere, that divide happened and you felt you couldn’t be this AND that. But, the truth is, in this gray area, is you. All of you. The fullness of you. In this coaching episode, I explore this topic with Beth - a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion educator who recently decided to pivot her business from working with larger corporations to working with smaller, more creative businesses. But, once she made this decision, even more corporate opportunities came knocking at her door, which left her wondering if she’d made the right choice. Is the Universe leading her away from her newly discovered creative self and back to the corporate version? Together, we discover just how living in the gray area can be an integration of both versions of herself. Let’s dive in. There are so many experiences throughout life that can slowly (and quietly) build a strong system of beliefs that drives your thoughts, actions, and feelings… without you even realizing it. Thoughts like, “What if it’s not good enough? What if I mess up? What will they think about me?” But what if you could reprogram those beliefs? What if you could open yourself up to experiencing ALL you are meant to because nothing would stand in your way? To me, that sounds like freedom. Freedom to be everything you were created to be. As someone who spent a lot of time in my life trying to do what felt “expected” (saying the right things, wearing the right clothing, etc.), I can tell you that deciding to replace beliefs that don’t serve you with the truths that bring personal freedom allows you to be unapologetically you and it changes everything. That’s why I’m so excited to share with you this conversation with Jessica on uncovering the roots of beliefs that keep us from stepping into our fullest potential. Let’s dive in. Do you ever feel like you hold yourself back from your fullest potential in your business? So many entrepreneurs struggle with fears around showing up authentically in their business, especially when it comes to launching. But the truth is, when you hide, your audience hides. And when you show up boldly, you encourage your audience to do the same. If you want to disrupt the status quo, share authentically, and create an impact with the amazing transformation you know you can provide… it’s going to take addressing the underlying beliefs that prevent you from doing so right now. That’s exactly what Karolina does in this coaching episode of Limitless Life™. Karolina is an Alcohol-Free Life Coach who helps dreamers and doers drop alcohol to uplevel their lives. During this conversation, we uncover how fear of criticism leads her to use “acceptable” messaging (and feel wishy-washy in her content) and how working from a place of total alignment with the spirit of her course can completely change her level of confidence in her business and release her from that fear of criticism and judgment. If we really want to create change in this world, it starts by looking at ourselves and the roles we play in what we’re trying to change. In the words of Andréa Ranae, “The system you wish to dismantle resides within you — and the rest of us, too.” And this week, I’m so excited to dive deeper into this perspective with you by sharing this conversation with Andréa. Andréa Ranae is a teacher, coach, and the founder of Whole/Self Liberation — an online school offering education and resources for people who are ready to make a difference in this world. She has such a powerful way of teaching — especially when it comes to her perspective on liberation and wholeness in both social justice and in creating impact in general. We all have incredible power within us to create change. And I know that what Andréa shares in this episode will get you thinking about your own power and the impact you’re already creating, whether you realize it or not. Let’s dive in. Do your finances inspire fear or freedom? When you hear the words “Rich Life,” does your mind go to all the things society says you *should* spend your money on? Do you start thinking of restrictions, like how you *have* to save 10% every single month? Or do you think about the places where you would love to spend more money, like joyously grabbing your favorite daily latte? Our rules and stories around money are so fascinating. We all have them, but very rarely do we dive into the “why” behind how we truly feel about money. In this episode of Limitless Life™, Ramit Sethi -- New York Times bestseller and founder of I Will Teach You to Be Rich -- shares the ins and outs of creating a Rich Life on *your* terms. Millions of monthly readers dive into Ramit’s material on money, business, and psychology to better understand their deeply-ingrained money stories. Today, he’s sharing his personal money stories and teaching you just how to rewrite your invisible money scripts to design your own conscious money rules based on what you truly value. Today on Limitless Life™, I sat down with the amazing Kate Northrup to talk about how doing less actually produces better work. Kate is an entrepreneur, best-selling author, and mom, and recently wrote a book called "Do Less: A Revolutionary Approach to Time and Energy Management for Ambitious Women". This episode we get deep into talking about women's menstrual cycles, and how they can help dictate when you should be doing certain tasks in your business. We also talk about how to feel like you're not being enough when doing less. This is something that I can deeply relate to. Ever since I was 15, I was one of the biggest "doers" you've ever met. An emotion I didn't want to feel? I started a club at school. A fear of being unworthy? I started a company. Sound familiar? Of course, none of this was conscious. I convinced myself that this was just who I was -- a high achiever. A leader. It took over a decade to finally realize that I was using achievement to mask the fear that always simmered just below the surface "maybe all this doing is just covering up my fear of truly being". In this episode, Kate will help you bust through the fears of what happens when you truly rest, and how to reframe previous views on busyness and productivity. I am so excited to hear your takeaways from Kate!
Have you ever come across somebody whose work just speaks to you on a soul level, and you feel like everything they say and teach resonates with you? That’s what happened for me when I found the work of today’s guest. Jasmine from Moondust Our Mother is an energy healer and Human Design expert and she fuses spirituality with Human Design, with talking about money (which happen to be some of my favorite things to talk about). Human Design is something that you’ll learn all about today, and I’ve used it to help me understand myself and my team, as it’s a great tool for entrepreneurs. If you haven’t gotten your Human Design chart I recommend that you start there (the link to one is in the show notes!) and I’m going to be going more in-depth on this topic next week in my solo episode. But today, you’ll get to learn the foundations from Jasmine, as well as her thoughts on abundance, money, “hustle” and a whole lot more!
If you listened to last week’s episode, you heard Tiffany Aliche (who is known as “The Budgetnista”) share her wisdom how to invest your money, build wealth and why it’s so important to empower and education women with their finances. I thought it would be fun to continue to conversation today by sharing with you my story with my finances and investing, as it’s been an ongoing journey for me too to learn more about these critical topics. My journey really began about 4 years ago, and the reason I waited so long to start investing was because to be honest it all just seem so complicated. This episode is a deep dive into all of the things that I’ve done to educate myself since then – the good, the bad and the ugly! Please note that I’m not a financial expert and this episode is just about sharing my personal experiences, but hopefully the information I talk about here can help you on your own journey to build wealth!
I wish I had come across today’s guest 3 or 4 years ago when I had no idea how to manage my finances and how to get involved in investing! Tiffany Aliche is also known as “The Budgetnista”, and she’s an absolute wiz when it comes to helping others understand finances, and how to use your finances to create a limitless life for yourself and your loved ones. In this episode we also cover a lot of topics and not just finances, including the impact of community, mentors and peers seeing you beyond where you are right now, and how to start thinking in abundance rather than scarcity and lack. Since starting her business, Tiffany has helped over 1 million women save and manage their money, as well as pay off millions of dollars in debt. She now runs an 8-figure company, and this amazing entrepreneur even helped pass a law in New Jersey that brings financial education to kids in school. Tiffany is a natural teacher and it really comes through in this interview, so I hope this episode inspires you as much as it has inspired me!
This coaching episode with Courtney is a special one, and it gets pretty emotional as we dig deep into a lot of different aspects of being an entrepreneur, mom and human being. Courtney feels a resistance to earning more money and having a bigger impact, and she’s not alone because this is something that I hear a lot from others. Courtney can see the vision and she knows that it’s possible for her to create a life and business that she wants, but something is standing in the way. She initially thought It was perfectionism, but there are hidden things tripping her and holding her back. It’s actually a fear of success, and what will happen if she did increase her impact and level of success. This is a big concept about success that entrepreneurs ignore, which we look at here. What will happen if you play bigger, and who will you leave behind? Can you be a successful entrepreneur, all while being an amazing partner and parent? These are the questions I help Courtney answer today, and I think you too will get a lot from this coaching episode.
Today’s coaching call with Brie is packed with so many powerful insights. Brie has a blog and is now working on a book, which is essentially a memoir about her life, and she explains how she noticed everything falling apart as soon as she started working on this book. Brie stopped blogging for the past couple of months and she even stopped working on the book, as well as neglecting a lot of other practices in her life that used to be valuable to her. Brie is wondering how she can stop sabotaging herself, and we go really deep in this conversation about why this could be happening (and how I think she may be actually afraid of success). We look at scarcity and the feeling that there’s “never enough”, upper limit problems and what practices you could use to come back to yourself - even if you’re feeling afraid. What did I tell you, this episode with Brie is packed with lessons that a lot of us could use in our own lives!
Today I have another coaching episode with a mastermind member of mine, and again, we go deep in this one! This conversation with Mariah centers mainly around anxiety, and what she’s going through at this moment of her life. Mariah is a graphic designer who is transitioning from offering services to clients to selling courses. She’s had a lot of success already with this pivot, but there is anxiety popping up for her around the fact that she is letting go of clients that were paying her thousands of dollars each month. Mariah has also had a lot of transition in her personal life recently, and we talk about the anxiety coming up around these things too. If you are someone who has a fear of disappointing people, have lost alignment with your true self or are nervous about making a big transition in your life too, listen in because Mariah’s story will inspire you as you navigate change. If you are interested in learning more about my mastermind too, you can go to http://boldabundancemastermind.com/, and a group is open for applications right now! If you’re feeling like you need community, support and strategy to get to your next level, then listen in on this conversation with Mariah because we are diving deep into a lot of amazing topics today!
Today’s topic is all about masterminds, and specifically how they have helped me grow my business over the years. I’ve been a part of six different masterminds over the past four years, so I’ve gotten to see a medley of ways to run them, as well as getting to know some incredible leaders and mentors. I’ve witnessed incredible results from fellow participants, and today I wanted to share with you the results I’ve achieved, as well as my biggest takeaways, from the masterminds I’ve been fortunate enough to take part in. If you are interested in learning more about my mastermind, you can go to http://boldabundancemastermind.com/, and a group is open for applications right now (but hurry, applications close August 7th, 2020)! If you’re feeling like you need community, support and strategy to get to your next level, then listen in on this episode today because I go deep into the ways that being a part of masterminds has leveled up my business!
Have you ever met someone that you just think is totally incredible and unstoppable? That is how I feel about today’s guest, Caley, who I’ve gotten to know over the past 6 months as a member of my mastermind program. When March of this year hit and the fear of the global pandemic was rising, Caley lost 80% of her business within a 5-hour span. Rightfully so, she was pretty scared about this situation, but she learned one key strategy in the mastermind that changed everything for her. Only one week after she lost the majority of her clients, Caley not only matched her previous revenue – but she 3x’d it! The strategy and mindset shift she used to do this is going to be helpful for you too, regardless of what you’re going through in your business right now. You’re also going to hear about the painful experience of Caley’s father passing, and how she was feeling running a business at this difficult time. She has some beautiful wisdom and perspective to share around this, as well as the vital role that community can play in your life and your business. If you are interested in learning more about my mastermind too, you can go to http://boldabundancemastermind.com/, and a group is open for applications right now! If you’re feeling like you need community, support and strategy to get to your next level, then listen in on this conversation with Caley because we are diving deep into a lot of amazing topics today!
I’ve got a quick little coaching episode for you today, where I’m speaking with one of my mastermind members Elena. Elena is a photographer and educator for other photographers, and she has grown a thriving multi 6-figure business in the process. I’ve worked with Elena for about 6 months now, and I’ve really noticed her ability to lead others, as she now has a growing team of people supporting and expanding her vision. When we first started working together, Elena did have a fear around paying for support though, and this conversation is partially about that. Another thing she speaks about is this idea that success can be more challenging as you progress from just starting up, and what doesn’t get talked about a lot is the fear that comes when you have more to lose. More success often brings more pressure, but wherever you are in your business, you’ve got to allow how you feel because it’s normal. I hope this conversation with Elena helps you build awareness around your own feelings, and whether or not you are living in fear or in alignment with your true values.
Today’s topic is something I wish I knew about years ago. I remember feeling upset about something, triggered, emotional or jealous, and I just didn’t know how to come back to myself. I would hope time would make me feel better, which it did, but I wish I had known how to feel right and better, sooner. So this episode is dedicated to helping you feel better with some practices that are designed to help you come back to yourself when you’re feeling upset about something. I think that this episode should be required listening for pretty much everyone on the planet!
We’ve got another coaching episode for you today featuring one of my mastermind members, Kate. Kate is a phenomenal woman and therapist who helps new moms navigate motherhood and all the things that come with it. We dig really deep in this conversation, going back to her early days when she adopted certain stories about success (and herself) that is now holding her back in her business. If you’ve created the story that success needs to be really hard work, or if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to ask for help, or if you’ve felt the need to be “perfect” in order to be successful, then you will probably resonate with Kate’s journey. There is a lot of juicy stuff that comes out of today’s coaching call, and I can’t wait for you to hear all of it. I hope it helps you realize how business can be easier, more fun, more collaborative, and less complex!
On this episode I’m talking about burnout, and if you know my story you’ve heard how it was a significant turning point in my life as an entrepreneur, and human. I went through this period of burnout about two years ago, where I took a full 6 months away from my company. That feeling had been building for quite some time before I took my sabbatical, resulting in serious physical manifestations for me. This topic of burnout is not only really important to me, it’s something that I hear about so often from the people that I work with, which is why I felt that I really needed to dedicate an episode of the podcast to talking about it. Today I am going to move you through a three-pronged process to bounce back from burnout by becoming aware, aligned and then taking action! Are you ready?
I’ve got another coaching call for you today, this time with a wonderful woman named Saige who is a hypnotherapist and a spiritual guide. Saige came to me because she was feeling like there’s a “next level” to the work that she does, but she was feeling really unclear about what this looked like in her life (and how she would even get there). A lot of Saige’s uncertainty has come from her fear of raising her prices, among other things, and if you’ve ever felt this way then I think you’re really going to resonate with what we talk about in this episode. This conversation will help you witness the compromises you’ve made that have been holding you back from your truth. I think you’ll also be able to see the opportunity that you have to really discover your direction and to get to that next level in a way that feels really good and exciting to you.
Welcome back to Limitless Life™! I adore all of the coaching episodes I do on this podcast, but it’s really helpful when I know the person who I’m coaching. It makes it so much easier to go deeper faster, and today’s guest is somebody who I’ve gotten to know pretty darn well. Beck is a member of my Level I Mastermind and I’ve gotten to know her in person (even hugging her pre-Covid!), as well as interacting with her often on our group calls. This episode is juicy because we dive into the heart of what is going on in Beck’s life that brought her to this coaching call. She has a company that has made huge strides and achieved things she didn’t think was even possible just a few months ago, but she’s noticing a scarcity mindset creeping in. You’ll hear how Beck has great weeks with a lot of sales, and then some weeks with nothing, so she is wondering how she can feel better about her entrepreneurial journey. We talk about scarcity, how our partners influence our business, the evidence we can look for to determine if we’re successful or not (and what “success” even means), and so much more. Spoiler alert, but business can be easy, simple and beautiful, and Beck brings up a lot of universal themes in this call that I’m sure you can relate to as well.
Today’s topic is a question I get all the time on Instagram, by email and from people in my mastermind groups, which is why I really wanted to record a podcast episode about it. In fact, this very thing may be holding you back in your business and in the ways that you can impact people. I’m going to talk about the desire to make your work accessible, and as a result, you underpricing your products or services to so that your ideal customers can afford them. Have you been stuck in the same pricing structure you’ve been at for awhile now? If this sounds like you, then you’re going to want to listen to this episode. As always, I thank you for listening and I would love to hear your thoughts. DM me on Instagram, @melyssa_griffin, and let me know the impact that you’re going to be able to create from this new place of true generosity in your business!
Today I have an amazing interview with Sylvester McNutt, who I actually met through Instagram where he has a half a million followers (or more)! I was so struck by a video that he posted on healing and how to be with people who are in pain, that I just knew I had to invite Sylvester to be a guest on this podcast. In this conversation we cover a lot of different things, including why having boundaries is so valuable for healing, how to truly feel your feelings without just bypassing them, and the way to start questioning things in order to develop your own mindset on the world. If you haven’t heard of Sylvester, he’s an author of many books, a creator of online courses and all the things to help you heal yourself, and he is someone who does all this from a place that feels relatable and easy to digest (and understand)!
The past month has felt like a pivotal turning point in the fight for racial justice, especially for Black lives. But hey, I don't have to tell you that, right? You've seen anti-racism authors topping the New York Times Bestseller lists for weeks. You saw your Instagram feed decked out in black squares for #BlackoutTuesday. And you might have even made it to a protest in your city. But roughly one month after George Floyd's murder, my company and I are asking ourselves, what else? How do we keep this movement going after social media has moved on? While buying an anti-racism book or sharing a post on Instagram is moving in the right direction, it is decidedly not enough. This episode will outline our commitment to social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement, and will detail actionable ways that we will prioritize anti-racism moving forward. You're welcome to use this plan within your own company or for your personal use. Let's dive in!
When I do coaching calls, I tend to notice that people will come to me with a specific problem that they think is holding them back. However, through some talking and coaching, it often ends up being something totally different that is holding them back (which I think is fascinating). Today’s coaching call with Ali is an example of this, and I wanted to share our conversation with you in this episode. Ali came to me believing that she was having a hard time staying driven, especially during the pandemic and time in isolation. She really just wanted to connect more to the motivated and productive side of herself. What’s interesting is that as we got into our conversation, we found out it really wasn’t about this at all. Ali has the motivation, but she needed something that I think is going to be so relatable to listeners of this podcast. You’ll hear us talk about what it feels like to ask for support, and why it’s so much more comfortable to take care of everyone else around you instead of doing this. We dig deep and get to the core of this issue for Ali, and we come up with a plan so that she can live more in alignment with her values, instead of her fears.
Welcome back to Limitless Life™! I know it’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve last chatted, but I decided to take two weeks off from promoting our podcast and sharing new episodes because I really wanted to give voice to the black educators and creators, especially during a time like this. This week won’t be the last time you hear me talk about Black Lives Matter, and you’ll hear how we as a team iare ncorporating anti-racism in our business moving forward (stay tuned for an episode coming next week to hear more on what we’ll be doing). Today I’ve got a really special episode for you, which is an interview with a dear friend of mine named Allyson Byrd. We recorded this talk a couple of months ago now, but I’m really excited to share her wisdom with you, because Allyson is someone who has such a way with words and communication that she motivates the heck out of those who hear her! If you haven’t heard of Allyson, she is also known as the “Profit Accelerator™,” and she is the first and only small business owner to create an international production house for thought leaders to be executive produced in publication, online platform expansion, and offline sales strategies. In the past 8 years of her being in business, Allyson has worked with over 3,000 entrepreneurial thought leaders, helping them create over $105 million in new revenue. Our conversation here really centers around her thoughts and wisdom as it pertains to money and wealth, and as always, I was blown away by Allyson’s insights and expertise. I have feeling you are going to love what she has to say.
Hey, Limitless Life™ family! So I gotta be honest, today's coaching call might be one of my favorites. Maybe it's because I know today's coachee on a more personal level as someone in my mastermind. Over the past few months, I've been able to really see her blossom even more into her beautiful, bold self as a business owner, a mom, a woman, all the things. She's just an incredible person, and her name is Kelli. Kelli was noticing that this fear kept creeping up that was holding her back, and she wanted to get some more support around how to move past this once and for all. This fear that was coming up, as you'll discover in today's coaching call, is that she would get tons of amazing comments from people on social media. Then every once in a while, Kelli would get a comment from somebody who she'd never even heard of telling her that she was a fraud or questioning whether what she's selling is a scam. Often these are complete strangers on the internet who don't know her at all, and they're mixed in with tons of comments from people who absolutely love her work. But she was really letting these comments get to her head. Kelli revealed to me that in her family dynamic growing up, she got a lot of messages about needing to look like you have it all together. Needing to look perfect to everyone else out there, to not shine too brightly, to not take up too much space. So as we navigate through today's coaching conversation, you'll get a glimpse into how your family dynamics and programming growing up (and even to this day) might be affecting your results in your business, causing you to hold yourself back in a really tragic way. We create some solutions in today's episode so that you don't have to do that anymore. So that you can actually remove the programming and the conditioning that you learned a long, long time ago. So that you can really let yourself be seen for the imperfect but whole person that you are. Stay tuned because this conversation is going to change you. Let's dive in.
What is up, Limitless Life™ family? Today I’m sharing a really amazing conversation with someone named Lauren who, as you'll learn in this coaching call, has quite an inspiring story. She decided on a whim one day to pack up her bags and move from the United States to Brazil. And in Brazil, she found a partner and had a baby, all while making a lot of headway on her career and her online business. Now, she's finding herself in this place where she feels stuck. See, she's got this website where she creates resources to support teachers. She does have a day job that she goes to as a teacher, which she loves. She also creates resources that she sells in order to help teachers, but she notices that she's constantly jumping from one thing to the next and not really finishing things. She's always starting over. And so inside of this #LimitlessCoaching call, we're going to dig into what that means and why that might be happening behind the scenes. We're also going to be talking about control, comparisonitis and reconnecting to a deeper part of ourselves. This episode is going to be a really powerful one for you if you are a new parent where you feel like you're losing yourself as you give all you have to your children, or it's going to be an amazing episode for you if you feel like you start things and don't finish them. Or if you feel like you're taking care of everyone else around you except yourself. Or if you just feel like you're losing control over certain parts of your life and you want to know how do I gain control over my life and business again? How do I step into my biggest, most aligned self? How do I create a business that truly speaks to my soul? Well, this conversation is for you.
What is up Limitless Lifers?! Today, I've got a new coaching episode for you. This one is really special because I was actually doing a coaching call inside one of my online courses when one of my students spoke up and had this profound question. She had a radio interview coming up, but she was terrified of people hearing what her voice sounded like. Now, this was a typed question during our group coaching call. I wasn’t able to hear her voice but I already knew there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. We talked about this as a group and worked to really understand what was underneath the fear. Today’s conversation is a deep dive into this powerful topic. Throughout our conversation in this coaching call, it becomes a beautifully profound metaphor for anyone who is afraid of people hearing their voice, people seeing their fullest expression, people witnessing them in who they really are and watching their growth, and what it might feel like for you to ask for more in your life to speak up about who you are and what you want. I think you're going to really love this conversation with one of my students, Tiffiny. She has some incredible insights and uncovers so much depth beneath her fear of people hearing her voice. So let's dive into the conversation with Tiffiny!
The ethos of the Limitless Life™ podcast is all about doing business your way, instead of following the crowd. I know, from personal experience, that sometimes we’re so conditioned to follow instead of lead that we’re not even sure what our own way looks like. Today’s episode is all about getting into alignment with who you truly are, and living in a way that serves you and your dream to its fullest potential. I can't wait for you to listen!
