WAIT CONFERENCE'26 | Day 8 |Theme: Worship – The Highest Expression of Love | CHIMDI OHAHUNA Scripture Focus: Matthew 22:37–38 | Mark 12:30 | Luke 10:27 In this soul-stirring session of WAIT CONFERENCE'26, we journey into the heart of worship, not merely as a ritual, but as the very essence and highest calling of humanity. Drawing from the words of Jesus in the synoptic Gospels, we are reminded that worship is not confined to melodies or moments, but is the full-bodied, all-consuming love of God with our spirit, soul, mind, and strength. We reflect on the profound image of God forming man from the dust, glory stooping to soil itself in love. This divine act reveals that grace is not abstract; it is glory guiding dust into destiny. Worship, then, is our ascent in love, a response to the God who first descended in love to meet us. As 1 Corinthians 13 teaches, love is not just a virtue, it is the atmosphere of true worship. This episode explores: - Worship as Love in Action: Loving God is not passive, it stretches the body, challenges the soul, and renews the mind. True worship demands all of us. - The Inner Struggle: The soul and mind often resist the demands of love, preferring comfort over consecration. Yet the spirit of the New Creation delights in loving the Lord. - The Role of the Body: Mark 12:30 reminds us that strength, our physical being, is part of the worship equation. When the soul is aligned in love, the body follows in strength. - Love for Neighbor as Worship: Luke 10:27 completes the picture. Worship is incomplete without love for others. We love God by loving people. - The Posture of a Worshipper: Worshippers don't pass blame, they take responsibility. They lead by love, kneel in intercession, and seek to serve rather than be served. This session calls us to a deeper, fuller worship, one that transcends songs and enters the realm of sacrificial love, responsible leadership, and unbroken fellowship. When love is present, worship is alive. When fellowship is absent, love is lacking. Tune in and be transformed as we rediscover worship as the highest expression of love. Jesus is Lord.
For believers, Christmas is more than a season of tradition or time with family — it is an opportunity for us to reflect on the incarnation of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we look at the birth narrative in Luke 2, we see the shepherds believe the announcement of the angels, seek out the Christ child, and worship Him. In this we are also reminded to believe the Word of God, seek Christ, and worship. This sermon was preached at Legacy Reformed Baptist Church in East Grand Forks, MN. Message Us!Struggling to strike a balance between work and worship? You are not alone. Step into this enlightening discourse as I, Pastor Chris May from the Real Life Community Church, unravel the biblical narrative of Mary and Martha. We'll discuss how their story from Luke 10:38-42 underscores the critical equilibrium between diligence in our earthly endeavors and a personal relationship with God. We'll also celebrate Mary's fervor for Jesus' teachings, a remarkable testament to the value of His word in our lives, especially in a time when women were often marginalised.Moving on, we'll turn the spotlight on the compelling subject of workaholism, peeling back the layers of motivations ranging from service to others, cost of living pressures to pride, identity, technology, and love of money and possessions. Let's explore the emotional, physical, and spiritual costs of overworking and arm ourselves with wisdom to prevent missed opportunities. We'll draw from God's example of resting on the seventh day and ponder on its implications for our lives. Together, we'll learn how appreciating our accomplishments can help stave off workaholism, and why contentment is a virtue to be prized. As I share my journey towards a healthier relationship with work, I invite you all to join me in reassessing your own work-life balance.Support the show
Preacher: Kathy Maskell Scripture: Luke 10:38-42 38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Weekly sermon from Trinity Church Denver
Sermon podcast from the Sunday, 10-23-22 worship service - St. Paul's UCC in Downers Grove, IL. Luke 18:9-14Sermon preview"Worship" podcastThe whole worship service
What is true worship? Is it just singing songs? Or is it much more than that? In this study from Luke chapter 23, Pastor Bunjee Garrett examines what it means to worship God in spirit and in truth. The post What Is Worship? – Luke 23:44-56 appeared first on Calvary South Austin.
What is worship? Who is it for? And, why should we even bother? These are questions that came up for a lot of folks over the course of the last couple of years. Jesus spent a lot of time in worship – teaching, preaching, praying, and being in community with some folks he agreed with and a lot of folks he didn't. But, it was less about whether or not he agreed than it was about the people: People who struggled to discover and embody a life worth living in a world determined to make that as difficult as possible. People who he knew were fearfully and wonderfully made. Why do you worship? Maybe it's the opportunity, if only for a moment, to confront the ways that we are broken and fearful and anxious and self-obsessed… to exchange all of these pennies of human frailty for the currency of God's love and grace and transformative restoration. . urbanvillagechurch.org . . .
