To be lost in the heart of worship is something that all Christians aspire to do. To be  moved by God's presence due to His goodness, love, and mercy, is something so strong and profound that it can't easily be put into words.Bethel Music's Jenn Johnson agrees. For the last 25 years, Johnson and Bethel Music have sought to bring music to the masses that invites listeners to take hold of their true identity and pursue intimacy with God above everything else. Fresh from winning two Dove Awards, including one for “Song of the Year”, Bethel Music has recently released a live praise and worship album called We Must Respond.. Recorded late last year at the Cascade Theater in Redding, California, its 17 songs feature the Bethel Music Collective as well as guest vocalistsBrooke Ligertwood, Abbie Gamboa, and Aodhan King.Johnson joins us to talk about the new album and how its title is a declaration of sorts. Listen as she explains why she considers each song to be a 'holy exchange' for listeners and she shares her perspective on the future of praise and worship music.

Introduction Numbers 29 is a chapter in the Old Testament that outlines the festivals and offerings to be observed during the seventh month of the Israelite calendar. These festivals the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles—were sacred times marked by rest, worship, and offerings to God. While the specific rituals may seem distant from modern life, the principles behind them remain deeply relevant for believers today. These observances were not just religious duties but powerful reminders of God's sovereignty, the need for repentance, and the joy of His presence among His people. ⸻ The Festivals and Their Significance 1. The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) – A Call to Reflection and Renewal The Feast of Trumpets, known in Hebrew as Rosh Hashanah, marks the Jewish New Year and serves as a time of reflection, prayer, and new beginnings. It is one of the Jewish High Holy Days and is also referred to as Yom Teruah (Day of Shofar Blowing). The shofar, a ram's horn, was blown as a spiritual wake-up call, urging people to reflect and repent. Historically, the shofar was used to announce the new moon, call people to gather, and signal times of war. Timothy Keller Sermons Podcast by Gospel in Life

Every week we gather for worship, and we move through the same order of service. But after a while, do we realize what we're doing? We're going to look at each of the elements of our services, so we can understand them and catch ourselves when we're going through the motions. This week let's look at the call to worship: what does it mean to be called to worship?  In Psalm 147, we can see 1) what we're called to do, 2) why we're called to do it, 3) how we're called to do it, and 4) when we're called to do it. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on August 24, 2008. Series: Liturgy: What we do in Worship. Scripture: Psalm 147:1-20. Today's podcast is brought to you by Gospel in Life, the site for all sermons, books, study guides and resources from Timothy Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Revelation 14:6-13 describes three angels delivering divine messages to the world. The first angel proclaims the everlasting gospel to every nation. The second angel announces the fall of Babylon. The third angel warns that anyone who worships the beast or receives his mark will face God's wrath and will be tormented with fire and brimstone. The passage highlights the endurance and faithfulness of the saints, who keep God's commandments and remain steadfast in their faith in Jesus. Are these angels heavenly beings or symbolic of something else? What is 'the Gospel'? What city is Babylon symbolizing? What is 'the patience of the saints', and how do we keep the commandments of God'? Send us a Text Message.Discover the profound blessings of God and the transformative power of worship in this dynamic sermon. How do we maintain a heart of worship amidst life's chaos? Join us as we explore the essential nature of worship, using David's call to "bless the Lord" as a powerful example of engaging our entire being in adoration.Reflecting on God's unwavering faithfulness, this sermon stresses how remembering His past goodness fosters trust in His future plans, transforming our worship into an act of complete surrender. This sermon highlights the comprehensive "benefit package" God provides, encouraging us to understand and utilize these spiritual benefits fully. We compare spiritual renewal to an eagle's molting process, emphasizing the need for community support during these transformative seasons. By knowing and claiming these benefits, we enrich our lives and those around us, fulfilling our roles as beneficiaries and extensions of God's grace. Finally, we confront pressing issues like the spirit of suicide and societal chaos, emphasizing the power of collective prayer and unity in restoring divine order. Today, we celebrate our students' return from an amazing mission trip to Kenya. Pastor Carey leads us through scripture as we explore our calling to worship as Christ's followers. God commands our worship, and He is the only one worthy of it. We are to declare His glory among the nations and His marvelous works among the peoples! We are made to worship Him, and it is for our good because it brings our focus back to God's presence and reminds us of our purpose. As we read in Romans, For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Remember to look back and see where he has been unfailingly faithful and look ahead and know he is able. If you have questions, we'd love to connect with you, answer them, and pray with you—so reach out today! You can always take the next step in your faith journey by visiting burnthickory.com/next.

How can you tell when God is among his people in a distinctive way? What are the marks of God's present favour? What are the indications of reviving among the saints? Using Zechariah 8:21 as his springboard, Spurgeon identifies several of the signs of God's presence among his people: their great interest in divine worship; their encouragement to one another to use the means of grace; their urgency and immediacy in using these means; their eye particularly on God in these duties; and, their personal resolve and investment in waiting upon the Lord. This preacher has a sweet talent for both cutting and binding up; he knows how to expose and clean the wound, but he also knows how to pour in the balm. He is skilled in drawing us to God in Christ, making the exercises of religion seem sweet and delightful to the awakened soul. Here is a true call to worship indeed, not lacking in rebuke for our coolness and dulness, but painting a happy portrait of a people taken up with God, knowing and seeking and enjoying his ministrations toward them.
