2026 has been an interesting year for us and so far, all the episodes, we've done have had a real world echo to something happening in our world right now. This was unplanned and this week continues that trend as we discuss the Pruitt-Igoe Housing Project. An attempt in Saint Louis to create a new type of housing for the urban poor was met with removal of any communal or public space, to maximize efficiency, segregation, patrols to keep 'able bodied men' from getting free rent by living with their families, and no funding for maintenance which instead of lifting up the urban poor, just pointed them at a life of crime in this episode where we discuss the history of this Saint Louis housing project, what the idea or originally was versus what it becoame and then how instead of spending billions for corporate welfare, we could instead spend those same billions actually helping people and stimulating the economy. We get more than a little political and more than tired of the status quo in this episode of the Family Plot Podcast! #AbolishIceBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/family-plot--4670465/support.

The transfer portal does not open until January 2nd, but you would not have known that by looking at the news coming from the college football world on Monday. Athletes continue to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal, and some top quarterbacks will be on the move in a couple of weeks. Florida's DJ Lagway, Nebraska's Dylan Raiola and Cincinnati's Brendan Sorsby all announced they will be playing for a different school next season. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss who the top available quarterback is and where some of these guys might land. They also discuss NIL's impact on all of this. A common thought is that players are transferring for more money, but are some quarterbacks transferring because they are being forced out of their current NIL contracts? Then, the guys chat about a judge granting Jeremy Pruitt a preliminary injunction against the NCAA. This blocks the six-year show-cause order against Pruitt and moves him one step closer to returning to the sidelines. Jesse Minter also has a show-cause from his time at Michigan, and Pruitt's ruling makes the crew wonder if his show-cause order could get overturned should Michigan look to hire him as their next head coach. In the latest news from the Michigan coaching search, Kalen DeBoer has now said multiple times that he is not leaving Alabama. Although part of the crew is not convinced, the guys discuss who else the Wolverines may look to.Later, Godfrey finally makes his case to save the bowls. The bowl season is a time that used to be cherished by many, but the creation of the College Football Playoff, among other issues, has caused a decline in anticipation and excitement for bowl games. Steven Godfrey turns the bowl season on its head and makes his pitch for how the bowls could be revitalized.Stay caught up on all things college football with College Football Enquirer.0:00 - Top QBs entering transfer portal11:36 - How NIL could be forcing transfers25:24 - Jeremy Pruitt wins big court ruling33:45 - Michigan's coaching search42:56 - Steven Godfrey saves the bowls Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

In the latest episode of the Nomad Futurist Podcast, co-hosts Nabeel Mahmood and Phillip Koblence sit down with Chris Pruitt, Senior Director of Data Center Operations at CoreSite, and a seasoned veteran of the digital infrastructure world whose personal journey offers a masterclass in resilience, curiosity, and transformation. Once a behind-the-scenes part of the tech ecosystem, data centers are now in the spotlight, sparking conversations in local communities and capturing public interest like never before. As Chris puts it: "Our worlds have officially collided with the rest of the outside world, more acutely, I think, in the last 12 months than in the previous 29 years.” Chris's story begins in Tennessee, marked by early manual labor, a detour in college, and a pivotal turn through the U.S. Navy. Instead of letting early setbacks define him, he turned them into stepping stones, propelled by strong mentorship and relentless drive. His advice to anyone finding their way in tech rings clear: “Look for a mentor. If you find something you're passionate about, a mentor can help guide you." And it's not just talk. Chris's career proves that failure isn't final, but rather often the foundation of future success: “Just because you failed doesn't mean you can't make it.” For newcomers curious about the industry, Chris offers one of the simplest — and most powerful — pieces of advice: ask questions. "If you want to ask [an industry veteran] something, they're more than happy to tell you all you want to know... That's the thing kids, you got to start asking. Start probing.” Whether you're a student, a career changer, or a technologist looking to deepen your impact, Chris Pruitt's story is a blueprint for building a meaningful career in digital infrastructure. His message is timeless: resilience, mentorship, curiosity, and openness are the keys to thriving in an industry that's evolving faster, and mattering more, than ever. It Happened To Me: A Rare Disease and Medical Challenges Podcast
In this episode of It Happened To Me, we share a story of love, loss, and advocacy in the rare disease community. We are joined by Jordan Kruse, whose son, Pruitt, was born with ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) deficiency, and Dr. Susan Berry, a geneticist at M Health Fairview and professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School, who specializes in rare metabolic disorders like OTC deficiency and helped Pruitt. OTC deficiency is a rare urea cycle disorder (UCD) that prevents the body from properly removing ammonia from the blood. This dangerous buildup can cause severe complications, and in Pruitt's case, tragically ended his life at only six months old. Through her grief, Jordan founded The Brave Little One Foundation, honoring Pruitt's legacy by supporting families facing medical hardship and raising awareness about rare genetic conditions. Together, she and Dr. Berry shed light on: What OTC deficiency is and how it affects the body Why newborn screening doesn't always catch the condition The role of geneticists and medications in diagnosing and managing OTC deficiency Jordan's experience advocating for Pruitt's care in a complex medical system The importance of foundations and rare disease organizations in offering resources and hope What families and healthcare providers need to know about navigating rare disease diagnoses Resources: The Brave Little One Foundation National Urea Cycle Disorders Foundation (NUCDF) The Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN Consortia) The Future of Personalized Medicine is Here: Baby KJ received a first-of-its-kind personalized gene editing therapy at CHOP to treat his urea cycle disorder Ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency explained by MedlinePlus Stay tuned for the next new episode of “It Happened To Me”! The Phenomenal Sasquatch is a comprehensive exploration of one of the most intriguing mysteries of modern times. Is the sasquatch an undiscovered animal or a product of the imagination? Author Matt Pruitt takes a multidisciplinary approach to this question, drawing on insights from biology, psychology, anthropology, and other fields. Examining the fossil record, indigenous knowledge, historical records, eyewitness accounts, and physical evidence, Pruitt takes the reader on a journey into the heart of the sasquatch phenomenon. He explores the possibility that sasquatches are simply large, rare primates, and delves into the psychological factors that may be at play during people's encounters with these creatures. Alternatively, he considers the hypothesis that the sasquatch is merely a construct of the human mind that exists only in stories and art. In this thought-provoking work, Pruitt presents a balanced and rigorous analysis, providing readers with an in-depth look into the search for the natural origins of this cultural icon. Whether you are a skeptic or a believer, The Phenomenal Sasquatch will challenge your assumptions and deepen your understanding of this enduring mystery. Check out his book here: The Phenomenal Sasquatch: Seeking the Natural Origins of a Cultural Icon
