The X-Men. A team of heroes made up of mutants, a subspecies of humans who are born with superhuman abilities, activated by the “X Gene”. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, the characters first appeared in September of 1963 in The X-Men #1. They are among the most recognizable and successful intellectual properties of Marvel Comics, appearing in numerous books, television shows, films, and video games. Inside this episode of My Big Fat Pull List, our O.G.s try to tackle the mountain that is Marvel's X-Mythology. With a lot of ground to cover the guys decide to focus on their favorite X-Moments as well as underlying themes, underrated characters, book rosters, and even creating their own fantasy X-Teams! Things get dicey on our latest episode as James takes on Nick over their differing opinions over how DC's Death Metal is going. Who wins in the war of the words? You'll have to find out, but let's just say they may need some bandages after that TKO. Before that though there's a whole episode of geekiness you don't want to miss out on. Flash Forward TPB, Batman #95, Ludocrats, X-Force Vol. 1, and Billionaire Island all get some comic love, while the guys talk Comic Con @ Home, the Eisners and more! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Character Corner - A Podcast on Your favorite Comic Book Characters
With Deadpool 2 hitting theaters this weekend we've finally recorded our Character Corner episode on Nathaniel Christopher Charles Summers, aka, Cable. Now first off, we've touched on a lot of the early years with Nathan/Cable already in some previous Character Corners. We cover Nathan's birth and being sent to the future in the Cyclops & Alex episode as well as him being genetically created specifically to be a weapon against Apocalypse in our Apocalypse & Mister Sinister episode. And if you want more on Deadpool and Cable's relationship, we covered that all the way back in our Deadpool Character Corner. Now Cable wasn't originally created to be the grown up, future Nathan Summers. Originally Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld created him to just be a military leader who was the complete opposite of Professor X and would lead the young New Mutants. Things changed rather quickly as the character became more popular and soon it was revealed he was not only Nathan Summers but his clone was Stryfe who founded the Mutant Liberation Front. It only gets stranger and weirder from here and we cover it all. From his half sister from an alternate timeline (Rachel Summers/Grey) to Cable going becoming the protector and father of Hope Summers. There's a lot going on, it can be convoluted but it's all connected. We try to make sense of it all. http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6608270 Issues: Uncanny X-Men #201 - First appearance of Nathan Summers X-Factor #68 - Infected with the Techno-Organic virus and sent to the future New Mutants #86 - First Appearance of Stryfe New Mutants #87 - First Appearance of Cable X-Force #1 Cable Volume 1 (1993) Issue #6 he's confirmed to be Nathan Summers The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix - Scott & Jean get pulled into the future by Rachel Summers to raise the young Nathan X-Cutioner's Song Uncanny X-Men #294 X-Factor #84 X-Men #14 X-Force #16 Uncanny X-Men #295 X-Factor #85 X-Men #15 X-Force #17 Uncanny X-Men #296 X-Factor #86 X-Men #16 X-Force #18 Uncanny X-Men #297 Soldier X Cable & Deadpool (2004) Messiah Complex Saga Messiah Complex Cable Vol 2 (2009) Messiah War X-Force/Cable Messiah War #1 Cable vol 2 #13 X-Force Vol 3 #14 Cable Vol 2 #14 X-Force Vol 3 #15 Cable Vol 2 #15 X-Force Vol 3 #16 X-Men Second Coming X-Men Second Coming #1 Uncanny X-Men #523 New Mutants Vol 3 #12 X-Men Legacy #235 X-Factor #204 X-Force Vol 3 #26 Uncanny X-Men #524 X-Men Hellbound #1 New Mutants Vol 3 #13 X-Men Blind Science #1 X-Men Legacy #236 X-Factor #205 X-Force Vol 3 #27 Uncanny X-Men #525 X-Men Hellbound #2 New Mutants Vol 3 #14 X-Men Legacy #237 X-Factor #206 X-Force Vol 3 #28 X-Men Hellbound #3 X-Men Second Coming #2 Avengers X-Sanction Avengers vs X-Men Cable and X-Force X-Force Volume 4 Cable Volume 3 Please take our Audience survey.
