Paul Azaceta, un trait vintage et percutantL'autre atout majeur du comics Les Sœurs Seasons, c'est bien sûr le dessin de Paul Azaceta.Son style vintage rappelle les comics des années 70, mais il l'actualise avec une énergie et une mise en page moderne qui rendent la lecture dynamique.Les personnages explosent littéralement sur la page, et c'est un plaisir de les suivre dans cette aventure.Ajoutons à cela le travail remarquable de Matheus Lopes aux couleurs, qui apporte une ambiance unique et magnifie chaque planche. De quoi parle Les Sœurs Seasons ?Comme son titre l'indique, la bande dessinée nous entraîne dans la vie de quatre sœurs, chacune nommée d'après une saison : Summer, starlette et actrice obsédée par la lumière des projecteurs. Winter, artiste peintre torturée et mystérieuse. Autumn, journaliste déterminée à élucider la disparition de leurs parents. Oh, and that teacher, Koro Sensei, just happens to be a tentacled creature with a giant smiley face for a head, who's already destroyed most of the moon -- and threatens to do the same thing to the planet Earth unless our hapless junior high students can assassinate him before the school year ends! This may be the silliest book we've covered on the podcast – far sillier than Ambush Bug for sure. But will that be enough to win a seat at that cool kids' table known as … The Comics Canon? In celebration of Captain America: Brave New World debuting this weekend, we discuss the passing of the torch from classic Captain America, Steve Rogers to Sam Wilson aka The Falcon. This was a significant modern impact on Captain America's continuity as a character and symbol Marvel Comics. Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn are the Season Sisters and the daughters of the world famous Seasons Detectives. Ten years ago, their parents disappeared under mysterious circumstances which brought the girls closer together. They may need those close bonds more than ever though, as something sinister is coming. Rick and Paul talk about the feel of the story they want to tell and how they are bringing something new and exciting to the visuals for this book. It's clear from the art we have seen from Paul so far, their is an air of whimsy to the story that will, perhaps, balace out the more thrilling aspects of the story.

As someone from the disability community, I'm often let down by how our community is portrayed in comics and it is rare to see our struggle reflected accurately. A month or two ago on social media that shall not be named, I saw screenwriter Peter Warren talking about his new comics project The Tin Can Society dropping right now from Image Comics on Rick Remender's Giant Generator Imprint, where he's using a sensitivity reader to help with the portrayal of the main protagonist tech mogul and superhero Johnny Moore. It has become common for writers to enlist a little help to make sure they are sensitive to the challenges of different marginalized groups, something I'm wholeheartedly in favor of, so I reached out to Peter and sensitivity reader Gianna Marie to hear more about this unique type of collaboration and what exactly it entails.
