Shawn "Know They Think of You As a Light In the Darkness " Hey U-nity, This comes from a statement I heard, “Don’t feel badly when people only think of you when they need you. Know that they think of you as a light when they are in the darkness.” If we shift our thinking, life never has to be a burden. Imagine being grateful that people think of you as a light. Don’t let personalities come before Principle. Keep giving thanks that you are a vital force in the world and your light is the one shining for certain individuals to see. Let’s affirm together, “The Superconscious Mind is awake in me now!” Blessings, Always Blessings, Rev. Shawn

Monday Morning Memo | Most Courts Are Shutting Down For The Corona Virus But The Next Part Even Shocked Us Courts handle many legal disputes regardless of reason. But what happens when a worldwide pandemic shuts down our court systems? Coronavirus Impact On The Court System and You As of the writing of this article, the Supreme Court has been shut down. Not just that, several aspects of the federal government could follow suit. This is a major problem if you’re still owed fees from a debtor. So we’re going to break things down in this article so you’re prepared to handle what follows in the next 30 days after the courts have begun to shut down. Court Proceedings Have Been Halted for 30 Days, Possibly Longer What this means for everyone is that if you have a case against someone within the next week or so, expect the hearing to be in five weeks or more. This also affects updates with collections as you’ll have to wait an additional four weeks before you can get that update. Everything has been put in frozen animation. It’s as if they’re halting the calendar as if it doesn’t exist. Sue Someone Later Not Now We highly recommend that you put off suing someone. This is mainly because of how courts have closed their doors but also because of how an attorney will still charge you for their services even if nothing is going to happen until way later. In this case it’s going to be thirty days or more. Weaker Companies Won’t Survive The Downturn According to Wilson, if a company was having trouble before the pandemic, they’re going to be struggling even more now. Some of them may not even survive to open their doors after the thirty day court shut down. This is similar to 9/11 but in slow motion, and you’re going to see a number of already struggling companies not make it. Bankruptcy Courts and The Ninety Day Stay Bankruptcy courts have also been hit with closures. What this means is that the ninety day stay period has also been paused. This means that the previous wait of ninety days to six months is now extended to over a year. Prediction for The Future? According to Samantha, she predicts that the courts could end up closed for as long as sixty days and resume very basic operations by then. The only situation where this won’t be the case and courts can open earlier is if a cure for the coronavirus comes out soon. Everyone could end up feeling the after effects of the pandemic for the next eighteen to twenty four months. A backlog of cases will also be an issue for the courts to handle. The Silver Lining One thing that Wilson touched on is that it isn’t just doom and gloom for some businesses. The storm will be weathered and when you come out the other side, you’ll be in a much better position. This is because of how some of your weaker competitors will be out of the picture. Quotes -It’s 9/11 in slow motion, so you're gonna see companies that were in trouble not make It - Stay calm and all of that good stuff and these storms weather through and when you make it out the other side you'll be in much better position because some of your weaker competitors won't be there

Smart Agency Masterclass with Jason Swenk: Podcast for Digital Marketing Agencies
Curious how to stand out and win more clients in the crowded agency space? Wondering how the big agencies got so big? For starters, stop being a "me too" agency trying to do what everyone else is doing. Stop trying to be what everyone is... you do you. We are always working on our weaknesses, instead of focusing on our strengths. Instead, we should focus on our strengths, leverage the weaknesses, and be a little bit of a freak in order to stand out. In today's episode, we'll cover: Why your agency needs to be a reflection of you. What is your agency's freak factor? 3 reasons you should embrace your weaknesses. Today, I talked with David Rendall — professional speaker, author, entrepreneur, and freak-enthusiast. David is incredibly passionate about the big-picture agency stuff. He shares what he calls the Freak Factor and his recipe for entrepreneurial success. This week alone David has traveled around the globe -- Dublin, Paris, London, and Egypt talking to businesses and entrepreneurs about one thing -- winning through uniqueness. Why Your Agency Needs To Be a Reflection of You As digital agency owners, we're prone to looking around for the best way to do things. It's part of our DNA. We like to be on top of the latest technologies and hottest trends in digital. But, when it comes to your agency's culture, outside is the last place you need to look. David says your agency needs to be a reflection of who you are. We throw the word "culture" around a lot but, culture isn't a hidden mystery; it just takes a solid look in the mirror. Virgin Mobile started off zany because Richard Branson is definitely zany! Walmart is all about logistics, inventory, and pricing — it's super practical because Sam Walton was super practical. Leverage your personality traits to create an agency you would want to work at and that alone will attract the right people. The culture will practically create itself once the vision and tone is set by you. Don't just create another "cool agency" — create something that helps you surround yourself with a like-minded team who will be an asset is carrying out your vision. What Is Your Agency's Freak Factor? Too many agency owners want to be like the big kids. They think they need to copy the big agencies in order to be as successful as one. Listen, Snapchat didn't just create a mirror copy of Instagram. They decided to do something new. Instagram is for showcasing images, so Snapchat took a different angle and made those images disappear. If the crowd is going one direction don't follow them. You'll find more success if you let them lead you toward your own, unique solution. David's advice is to find the gap in the market and then attack it. Don't just offer another solution like everyone else. Put your own twist on it, and offer a unique strategy for getting your clients the results they desire. 3 Reasons You Should Embrace Your Weaknesses If you walk away from this podcast with one lesson, it should be this: work on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Fixing your weaknesses may destroy your strengths. It's true! David likes to use the Walmart and Target analogy. Walmart is known for cheap prices and crappy service. Target has great service and a little higher pricing. If Walmart improves its customer service with added training and increased employee pay, it cuts into their margins and costs go up. Ditto for Target. They both eliminate their strength if they focus on improving their weakness. Your weaknesses might be your strengths. Is your agency small? That's not a weakness! That's a poorly positioned strength. You're not small; you're personal, nimble and agile. You can tell clients, "Yes, we're small and that means you can talk directly to me and won't get lost or forgotten." Think about your weak points and figure out how to leverage them as strong points. Strengths can get even stronger. Even if you can't find a way to turn your weaknesses into strengths, don't worry - you don't need to. Disregard your weaknesses and instead, focus on improving the things you're great at. Hone your craft and be the best damn {fill in the blank} the market has ever seen. What came first? The runner or the track? Do we create our environment, or does our environment shape us? These questions fall under the category of social cognitive determinants. I know, big words. In other words, how our thoughts affect our actions and surroundings, and vice-versa. Being aware of what we are thinking, feeling, and doing and how they interconnect is a great way to practice mindfulness, a specifically important exercise in an ever-demanding world. Today we spoke with sport psychologist Carla Meijen to discuss ways to prepare for a race three months out, a few days out, the morning of the race and everything in between. We chatted about the popular topic of living in the moment, the real effects of positive self-talk, and a completely new approach to setting running goals. These topics are sure to inspire change that will improve your mental health and toughness. Discover What Running Can Give to You As a new or a longtime runner, it is easy to see all the things you give to running. For many people like Carla, running came as an afterthought, a necessary evil to train for a sport she already enjoyed. Carla’s first love was basketball and choosing to run for running’s sake wasn’t an option for her. This is a common theme for a variety of runners. Consider a new runner simply trying to find a way to lose weight, or a professional runner that needs to do well in order to maintain a decent living. The pain and pressure that come from running can be terrifying. Of course, Carla eventually came around to the thought of enjoying a run. Like many, she had an opportunity to run without the pressures of getting in her hard, cardio workout. She found a love for running when she was able to run without a watch (although she does now and loves it). When running felt like a choice, rather than a necessity, it was easier to look at it differently. We often overlook the many positive things that running gives us and decide to be narrow-minded by focusing on the pain. Take a moment to think of all the things running has or can give to you: A friendship, a routine, a reason to get out in nature, increased energy, strength and health, a goal, time alone with your thoughts, a way to be in touch with your body, a challenge, a reason to buy new sportswear, a community. The list can go on and on. When you take ownership of your choices and realize you are deciding to work hard and struggle through difficult training sessions, it becomes easier to see what running gives you. Find those things and use them to your advantage when times get tough. Developing a Personal Mantra Another great way to get through the hills, side aches, and disparaging thoughts is to create your own mantra. A few great options might be, “Run Strong,” “I Can Do This,” or “Light and Easy.” Some prefer to think of a person that they love or someone that inspires them. Having a few mantras or thoughts prepared can be useful during different parts of the race as well. Plan on saying something at the start line that keeps you fresh and steady while saving your most motivating thoughts for the end of the race. In addition to personal mantras there are unlimited visual aids you can practice to find a competitive edge. Sometimes just distracting yourself can be enough. Try singing your favorite song in your head or rebuilding/redecorating your house in your mind. One of my favorites that Carla suggests in “The Lasso.” During a race imagine throwing a rope over the person in front of you and pulling yourself closer to them. You may be surprised at the amount of actually energy you receive from incorporating fun mental visuals. You’re in Good Company The wonderful thing about life on earth is that we are all doing this together. Don’t forget it! Your thoughts and feelings are completely your own, unique to you. At the same time, there are so many feelings that all of us experience. For example, Carla tells us that 95 percent of people have some type of negative thought during a race—ranging from “Why did I do this?” to strategizing a worthy reason for dropping out. The simple truth is, you are not alone. Newbies and elites both get butterflies. It’s deciding what to do with these feelings that creates our path. Know that you are in good company, that you have just as many problems and opportunities as the people around you, and then choose to do the thing that will make you happy. Musical Magic with Elfy Jo Radio Show Instant Harmony David has written a book entitled "Release Your Shackles: A Concise Guide to Living a Freer Life" which is available from Amazon around the world. He views all pain—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—as coming from shackles, which weaken or block your energy. Figurative shackles, that is, unless you are actually in jail…. Shackles generally come from your family, your schooling, your religious institutions, and your society, who all support you but at the same time try to influence you into being how THEY want you to be. But who are YOU? As you release the influence of others that is no longer serving you, you can begin to discover who you really are and what will serve you better in every moment. Then you can have a new life, free and authentic. This show will cover anything that arises about music, healing and authentic living. There might be musical improvising as well..... We encourage listeners to submit questions and comments. David Lasocki retired in 2011 as reference librarian in the Cook Music Library at Indiana University, the largest academic music library in the world. There he helped countless people learn how to research and write about music. He himself is a leading researcher on the history of woodwind instruments, especially the flute and recorder. He has also written a series of books on the New Orleans modern-jazz group Astral Project, which plays spiritually funky (or perhaps funkily spiritual) music. Whether studying classical music or jazz, David has a particular interest in improvisation. He also publishes his own books and music editions under the company name Instant Harmony. For over twenty years, he has also developed a parallel track as an energy healer, also under Instant Harmony, a name that works for both music and healing. Since learning several "modalities" such as BodyTalk, Matrix Energetics, Yuen Mastery, Magnified Healing, and the Completion Process, he has developed his own synthesis. That includes techniques that have come to him spontaneously during healing sessions, especially concerning morphic fields, while being open to the possibilities of the moment. www.instantharmony.net david@instantharmony.net ~ More about Musical Magic with Elfy Jo ~ Do you enjoy music?
