Angela Shelton: filmmaker and public speaker on trauma and abuse
Host Angela Shelton has health expert Sean Gilder on to discuss his thoughts on "crazy women" and he said let's not call them crazy, let's call them poisoned. When you deep dive into the realities of that concept you see that indeed, we are very much poisoned in our bodies, minds, and spirits and it is intentional. It's time to wake up to that reality, get healthy and stay that way full circle, full body, full healing. Here is one of many discussions for our 101 Ways to Heal That Sh*t!! This is the man Angela calls Jesus (look at him at https://www.theoneinnashville.com/ and see why!) He created LUTE and cured himself of chronic pain after leaving the medical industry and learned about the poisoning from big pharma that is intentionally created. This is a long conversation where you can be a fly on the wall. Angela and Sean both go live on tiktok regularly: https://www.tiktok.com/@iloveangelashelton/? https://www.tiktok.com/@theoneinnashville
Angela Shelton interviews assault survivor and advocate Austine Rose Magnolia while a beaver puppet stands in for Aly! What Austine survived is the journey of the pheonix rising from the ashes. Angela makes the harsh story easier to hear with puppets and playful joy interjected. YOU are LOVED! Angela share a healing technique that you will fall in love with. She gets Aly to say she loves her, which may make Aly feel like holding onto an electric fence... From dating for food to facing being berated, feel the love!
This episode is dedicated to Nikki Paris. Angela recommends imagining yourself as the subject of cheesy love songs; possibly being serenaded by a higher power… or by yourself, or whomever you love most. Her favorite is Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd, although Aly notes that doesn’t appear to be a love song. Aly’s always had a thing for break-up songs rather than love songs, so this idea is especially challenging for her. She should probably call Better Help for assistance. Aly recommends keeping in mind that everything you hear is passed through the filters of your own experience, so try not to read too much into what you think you hear. Thanks to Leah Finkelstein and Heather Stewart for the spectacular didgeridoo performances!
In the midst of cleaning up our own sh*t, Angela and Aly discuss the incredibly valuable and profound lessons (and surprises) you get when you actually clean up your sh*t - both in the "stuff" department and ridding yourself of certain humans. One of the 101 Ways to Heal That Sh*t is to check in with your support team, those you trust, those who have your back and sometimes you have to edit that list. Aly and Angela coming at you live (well lively recorded) while renovating an RV sieve and gardening during a global pandemic and a country in crisis. It's important to check in with your support network and garden! Why garden? What if you don't have a garden? Gardening is also a metaphor for healing - because just like a garden, we are a work in progress. Aly and Angela just happen to be in their perspective garden (or future garden areas) discussing disappointment in people. You get to hear Angela's baby rooster crow for the first time, along with a bird getting into the coop - an actual bird, not a chicken - and find out how Aly's garden foundation is better than Angela's but we are all a work in progress.

This is the AUDIO version of our SPECIAL VIDEO EPISODE our Patrons get to see! Become a patron to help us share 101 episodes! https://www.patreon.com/healthatshit The mayor of Asheville, NC made April 29th Angela Shelton Day in honor of all survivors. As filmmaker Angela discovered, 70% of the Angela Sheltons she found had survived child sexual abuse, rape and/or domestic violence and they all had healed, moved on, left abusive situations, put themselves through school, got sober and she finished her film. To be an "Angela Shelton" represents those who not only survive and break the silence, but also break the cycle of abuse and heal the world. In the words of nurse Angela Shelton in Florida, "Angela Sheltons do good hard things in the world." We can all be "Angela Shelton!" Aly had the brilliant idea that we video chat Angela Sheltons for Angela Shelton Day! This was very last minute and seeing that it has been two decades, not all emails or social profiles were the same. So calling all Angela Sheltons, let's do this again! We are proud to be "Angela Sheltons."
