This event marked the promotion's second "Noche UFC" edition celebrating Mexican independence day after holding UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2 the year prior.[4] It was also the first time the UFC has allowed a sponsor to have title partner status, officially rebranding it as "Riyadh Season Noche UFC", after a partnership with Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority.[3] The event told the history of combat in Mexico from the past to the future.[5] UFC chief content officer Craig Borsasi discussed the six 90-second film clips about Mexico's contribution to combat sports playing between bouts on the main card and that they were produced by film director Carlos López Estrada.[6][7] Each bout took place in a different world with images on the LED screens inside the arena.[7] White said that the budget for the production of the one-time only event exceeded $20 million compared to the approximate $2 million that is used at regular pay-per-view events.[7] Also, all but one of the fights on the card (the main event) featured a Mexican-born or Mexican-American fighter.[8] In addition, eight ring girls of Mexican descent were brought in for this event.[9] A UFC Bantamweight Championship bout between current champion Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili headlined the event.[10] A UFC Women's Flyweight Championship trilogy bout between current champion Alexa Grasso and former champion Valentina Shevchenko took place at the event.[11] The pairing first met at UFC 285 in March 2023, where Grasso won the title by fourth round submission upset.[12] Their second meeting took place at UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2 in September 2023, which the bout ended by split draw.[13] The pairing previously coached on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Grasso vs. Team Shevchenko against each other.[14] Manon Fiorot is expected to serve as backup and potential replacement for this fight.[15] A featherweight bout between former UFC Featherweight Championship challenger Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes took place at the event.[16] The pair was previously expected to meet at UFC 303, but Ortega withdrew just hours before the bout due to illness.[17] A middleweight bout between former LFA Middleweight Champion Anthony Hernandez and Michel Pereira was scheduled for this event.[18] However, the bout was moved to UFC Fight Night: Pereira vs. Hernandez to serve as the main event.[19] A flyweight bout between Édgar Cháirez and Kevin Borjas was scheduled for this event.[20] However, Borjas withdrew from the fight for unknown reasons and was replaced by Joshua Van.[21]
A welterweight bout between former UFC Welterweight Championship challenger Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady served as the main event.[2] A featherweight bout between Calvin Kattar and Kyle Nelson was scheduled for this event.[3] However, Kattar withdrew from the fight for unknown reasons and was replaced by Steve Garcia.[4] A bantamweight bout between Aiemann Zahabi and Marcus McGhee was scheduled for this event.[5] However, the bout was removed from the card for unknown reasons.[6] A featherweight bout between Žygimantas Ramaška and Nathan Fletcher was scheduled to take place at UFC on ESPN: Cannonier vs. Borralho.[7] Despite both men successfully weighing in, it was announced that the fight was canceled due to an undisclosed medical issue on Fletcher's part and was re-scheduled to take place at this event.[8] A flyweight bout between Matt Schnell and Alessandro Costa was expected to take place at the event.[9] However, Costa withdrew from the bout due to a shoulder injury and was replaced by Cody Durden in a bantamweight bout.[10] A light heavyweight bout between former interim UFC Light Heavyweight Championship challenger Ovince Saint Preux and former LFA Light Heavyweight Champion Ryan Spann was scheduled for this event.[11] However, Saint Preux withdrew from the fight due to an illness and the bout was moved to UFC 307 as a result.[12][13] At the weigh-ins, Dylan Budka and Kyle Nelson missed weight. Budka weighed in at 188.5 pounds, two and a half pounds over the middleweight non-title fight limit. Nelson weighed in at 148.5 pounds, two and a half pounds over the featherweight non-title fight limit. Both bouts proceeded at catchweight with both fighters forfeiting 20% of their purses, which went to their opponents Andre Petroski and Steve Garcia, respectively.[14]

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has terminated the wrestler and employment agreements between Phillip Brooks (CM Punk) and AEW with cause, effective immediately. The termination was confirmed today by Tony Khan, CEO, General Manager and Head of Creative of AEW. The termination follows a weeklong internal investigation of an incident occurring back stage at AEW – All In London on Sunday, August 27. Following the investigation, the AEW Discipline Committee met and later convened with outside legal counsel before making a unanimous recommendation to Khan that CM Punk be terminated with cause. Khan offered the following statement: “Phil played an important role within AEW and I thank him for his contributions. The termination of his AEW contracts with cause is ultimately my decision, and mine alone. Of course, I wish I didn't have to share this news, which may come as a disappointment to many of our fans. Nevertheless, I am making the decision in the best interests of the many amazing people who make AEW possible every week – our talent, staff, venue operators and many others whose efforts are unsung but essential to bringing our fans great shows on television and at arenas and stadiums throughout the world.”
