This weekend's UFC 305 card is shaping into an exciting night of fights, headlined by the highly anticipated rematch between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis for the UFC Middleweight Championship. If you're looking for a detailed betting preview and expert predictions, the Ringside Report MMA crew—Dave Simon, Fred Garcia, and AJ D'Alesio—have you covered. In this article, we'll break down the hosts' views on the main event, the undercard, and the key matchups to watch while sharing the thoughts and comments from the live-viewing audience. Don't forget to watch the full episode replay on YouTube, Rumble, Twitch, or Kick, and listen to the audio podcast wherever you get your podcasts. https://www.youtube.com/live/XcUUXgFZJuo UFC 305 Main Event: Israel Adesanya vs. Dricus Du Plessis The main event of UFC 305 features a thrilling middleweight championship rematch between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis. The hosts had much to say about this fight, with all three leaning towards Du Plessis's victory. Dave Simon: Dave highlighted the wear and tear on Adesanya's body from years of high-level competition. He doubted Adesanya's ability to bounce back after his recent losses and the extended layoff. Dave emphasized that while Adesanya is a highly skilled striker, Du Plessis's relentless pressure and grappling ability could pose significant challenges for him. Dave Simon: "Adesanya has been through the grind of the UFC. I just don't see a lot of guys at 35 years old, after losing the championship, coming back to beat a guy like Du Plessis who's younger and in his prime." Fred Garcia: Fred agreed with Dave's assessment and pointed out that Du Plessis could follow the blueprint Sean Strickland laid out in his upset victory over Adesanya. Fred Garcia: "The way Strickland really caused problems for Adesanya made me wonder if Strickland put the blueprint out there. I think Du Plessis could do the same thing with his relentless pressure." AJ D'Alesio: AJ also picked Du Plessis, focusing on his relentless pace and ability to close the distance, which could neutralize Adesanya's striking. AJ D'Alesio: "Du Plessis is a freight train. If he can close the gap and use his grappling, it's going to be a tough night for Adesanya." Co-Main Event: Kai Kara-France vs. Steve Erceg The co-main event features a flyweight clash between Kai Kara-France and Steve Erceg. The hosts were split on their predictions for this fight, with some concerns raised about Kara-France's long layoff. Fred Garcia: Fred was leaning towards Erceg due to Kara-France's recent inactivity and the momentum Erceg has built. Fred Garcia: "I'm picking Erceg, but I'm not putting him on my parlay. Kara-France's inactivity worries me." AJ D'Alesio: AJ also favoured Erceg, noting his superior striking and questioning Kara-France's readiness after such a long break. AJ D'Alesio: "Erceg has been active and sharp, while Kara-France has been off for 437 days. That's a big concern." Placing your bets? Use our link at bet99.ringsidereport.net Parlays and Betting Picks Dave, Fred, and AJ also shared their parlays and picks for the rest of the card, each offering a slightly different approach to the night's action. Dave Simon's Parlay: Dricus Du Plessis Jairzinho Rozenstruik Mateusz Gamrot Fred Garcia's Parlay: Dricus Du Plessis Mateusz Gamrot AJ D'Alesio's Picks: Khalil Rountree over Jiří Procházka Jairzinho Rozenstruik Mateusz Gamrot The hosts were generally aligned in their confidence in Du Plessis, Gamrot, and Rozenstruik, with AJ adding a few underdogs to his picks to spice things up. Viewer Comments and Reactions The live audience was highly engaged throughout the episode, with many viewers sharing their thoughts and predictions for UFC 305. Viewer Angelo: "Du Plessis by TKO in the 4th. Adesanya has taken too much damage."

The UFC showcased ‘One of the best strikers in MMA', Israel ‘The Last Stylebender' Adesanya, fighting for the undisputed UFC Middleweight Championship, his first bout since defeating Marvin Vettori at UFC 263. The Nigerian-born, New Zealand based professional mixed martial artist, kickboxer, and former boxer (with multiple championships in all three disciplines), currently ranked #3 in the men's overall pound-for-pound rankings at the time. He squared-up against New Zealand-born, Australian professional mixed martial artist, Robert ‘The Reaper' Whittaker, currently sitting at #14 in those rankings. This bout was their rematch, the first event having occurred at UFC 243 on Oct 5th of 2019. Just to refresh your memory, Whittaker lost that fight via a Counter Left Hook delivered by Adesanya at 3:33 of Round 2 of 5. Meanwhile, the co-main event featured our HW competitors, Derrick ‘The Black Beast' Lewis & Tai ‘Bam Bam' Tuivasa. Lewis currently holds the record for most knockouts in UFC history and is ranked #3 in their division, & had a 26-8 record heading into the Octagon tonight. ‘Shoeyvasa' held a record of 14-3, currently ranked #13 in the division. Also on the PPV card, we had a MW match between Jared ‘Killa Gorilla' Cannonier & Derek Brunson, who was currently on a 5-fight win streak. As well as a matchup between LWs, Alexander ‘The Great Ape' Hernandez & Renato Moicano, not to mention a thrilling LW scrap in our main card opener between Nasrat Haqparast & Bobby ‘King' Green. This week’s conversation is with Georges "Rush" St-Pierre, also known as “GSP,” a Canadian professional mixed martial artist and UFC world champion who holds black belts in both Kyokushin karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.Georges is recognized as one of the planet's best pound-for-pound MMA fighters and all around athlete. He retired from the sport on December 13, 2013, holding the UFC record for most wins in title bouts.Georges then returned to the octagon after a four-year layoff, on November 4, 2017 at UFC 217 in New York City, where he defeated Michael Bisping by submission in the third round to win the UFC Middleweight Championship title, becoming the fourth fighter in the history of the organization to be a multi-division champion. On December 7, 2017, after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, Georges vacated his UFC middleweight title and officially announced his retirement from professional MMA competition on February 21, 2019.I found this conversation fascinating and I think you’ll be surprised to learn that while Georges may arguably be the greatest MMA fighter of all time, he actually doesn’t really like to fight.Wild.Georges also shares why the key to his sustained success is also the same thing that drove him into retirement.--------------Please support our partners! We're able to keep growing and creating content for YOU because of their support. Episode #50 is finally here! What a milestone! What a privilege and an honour to be joined AGAIN by Canadian Strength Coach and Nutritionist, Dan Garner! Hardcore followers of this show will remember Dan Garner's first appearance as a guest back on episode #19 of the Fight Strength Podcast! This time around, we had the opportunity to get Dan in the studio in-person during his Australian Seminar tour. Unfortunately due to that pesky little thing called timezone difference, we were not able to sync availabilty between Phil Daru in Florida with the boys in Melbourne, Australia. So to make up for Phil's absence, Macgregor enlisted the help of our old friend, Dan Howard, to round out the interview. Some of the topics covered in this incredibly entertaining and informative episode are: * Dan's background and career achievements (including coaching Michael Bisping to the UFC Middleweight Championship, coaching Ronda Rousey as well as many others) * Common myths which need busting, i.e: "should fighters drop carbs during camp to cut weight?" * Energy balance and weight loss for fighters * Using Carbs to help with weight cutting * Pre/Intra/Post workout nutrition for fighters * Hydration and electrolyte balance * Meal frequency for fighters * Testosterone replacement therapy for older trainees * Getting the basics right, i.e: "tried and proven always beats new and improved" ** Please remember to subscribe to this podcast so that you get notified as soon as we put out more new content ** Check out the Fight Strength Podcast on YouTube!!! As it's a rare weekend with no upcoming UFC or Bellator events, we spend some time this episode discussing the current state of the major MMA promotions. We touch on the growing competition between UFC and Bellator, the volume and presentation of televised fight cards, possible market oversaturation, and more. Then we get into more of the week's news including newly signed UFC fights, the Roufusport controversy, and Vitor Belfort passing his first random drug test leading up to his UFC Middleweight Championship fight. Finally we take a look back at last weekend's UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs. Swanson, a night in which Frankie Edgar made a statement, Bobby Green confused us, and Paige Van Zant quietly stole the entire show. Listen to us Wednesday nights at 6:30pm on CFMU 93.3 FM, and online at http://www.thehammermma.com, Last Word On Sports, The Itunes Store, Stitcher, find @SteveJeffery on Twitter, or just email us.
