Yeremia 7: 23-28; Mazmur tg 95: 1-2.6-7.8-9; Lukas 11: 14-23.TUHAN MENETAPKAN BATAS Renungan kita pada hari inibertema: Tuhan Menetapkan Batas. “Apakah Tuhan Allah memiliki batas?” tanyaseorang remaja kepada Pastor Parokinya. Jawab sang Pastor, “Ya, Tuhanmenetapkan batas-batas tertentu, ketika sejak manusia pertama, syaratsyaratditetapkan supaya manusia yang memiliki kebebasan itu harus bertanggung jawabatas kepercayaan yang Tuhan berikan. “Terus kenapa Tuhan dikatakan jugaselama-lamanya”? sangga remaja itu. Pastor lebih mendekatinya dan menjelaskan. “Jadi bagi Tuhan sendiri, Iatidak terbatas dalam kehendak, kemurahan, dan keberadaannya. Ia kekal dan tidakterikat oleh tempat dan waktu. Tetapi dalam memberikan ajaran dan perintahkepada manusia, Tuhan menetapkan batas-batas. Maka kita memiliki sejumlah batasberupa perintah-perintah-Nya seperti: jangan berbohong, jangan mencuri, janganberbuat cabul, jangan malas, dan seterusnya.” Setelah ia pahami penjelasanPastor dan kembali ke rumahnya, ia mulai menulis sejumlah perintah Tuhan yangharus diikutinya dalam bertingkah laku. Karena ia sering lupa akan tugas-tugasutamanya, ia menetapkan batas-batas keinginannya, yaitu bermain hp satu jam disore hari dan satu jam lagi di malam hari. Waktu yang lain ia pakai untukkerjakan apa yang diminta orang tuanya dan belajar mengulangi pelajaran sertamengerjakan tugas-tugas dari sekolah. Di dalam masa Pra Paskah ini,remaja tadi memiliki beberapa daftar berupa batas-batas yang mengontrolnya didalam bertingkah laku. Ia benar-benar mengikuti arahan dan nasihat dari PastorParoki dan orang tuanya. Secara umum kita sebagai pengikut Kristus dan anggotaGereja, Tuhan Allah menetapkan batas-batas umum untuk kita ikuti dan patuhi.Batas-batas umum tersebut berlaku bagi semua orang, setiap tempat dan segalazaman. Pada hari ini, melalui inspirasibacaan-bacaan liturgis, kita diingatkan tentang diri kita pribadi dan sebagaikomunitas umat yang beriman kepada Kristus, yang membentuk Gereja yang satu dankudus, sebagai orang-orang-Nya Yesus Kristus. Kita adalah bagian dari Yesus danbukan Setan. Identitas kita sebagai orang Kristen, yaitu orang-orang-NyaKristus merupakan batas umum yang kita jaga, banggakan dan pelihara. Dua seruan yang penting bagikita untuk hari ini ialah: kita menjaga batas ini dengan menjadi bangsa ataukomunitas orang-orang yang selalu mendengarkan Tuhan. Kodrat manusia menurut Allah Pencipta, yang membuat kita lebihunggul dibandingkan makhluk hidup yang lain ialah karena kita memiliki akalbudi dan kebebasan. Penggunaan kedua elemen kodrati ini dipercayakan Tuhansecara penuh kepada kita. Hasilnya selalu ada dua macam, yaitu manusia memilihuntuk memenuhi kemauannya sendiri yang pasti mengakibatkan dosa danpenderitaan, atau memilih untuk mengikuti ajaran dan hukum Tuhan. Untuk pilihan yang kedua, akal budi dan kebebasan kitamengenal batasnya ketika mereka harus berkolaborasi dengan kehendak Tuhan.Manusia sepintar apa pun, ia akhirnya menyadari kalau kepandaian Tuhan melebihdirinya. Demikian juga sebebasnya dia untuk berkata atau berbuat apa saja,akhirnya diakui juga bahwa Tuhan lebih berkuasa dari pada dirinya. Sampai padabatas ini, sebenarnya iman yang berperan untuk menjelaskan kebesaran dankemahakuasaan Allah untuk dapat diterima oleh akal budi dan kebebasan kita. Pada hari ini, kita belajar bagaimana dengan kepandaiandan kebebasan itu, kita melakukan apa yang diajarkan oleh Tuhan. Tujuannyaialah supaya kemampuan kodrati kita dapat berkolaborasi dengan penyelenggaraanTuhan. Bacaan pertama dari kitab Ulangan menguraikan tentang ajaran ketetapandan peraturan. Musa meminta umat Allah untuk selalu menaati dan setia pada apayang ditetapkan oleh Tuhan dan yang menjadi aturannya. Ketaatan dan kesetiaan ini tidak mengurangi akal budi dankebebasan kita, tetapi mendapatkan nilai plus yaitu kebijaksanaan Ilahi. Fungsiakal budi untuk ini ialah mengingat, memahami, dan membahasakan apa yang Tuhanajarkan secara benar dan tepat. Fungsi kebebasan ialah untuk menyebarkankebenaran supaya dapat menguasai dan mengarahkan kehidupan ini di dalam jalanTuhan untuk sampai kepada Tuhan sendiri. Umat Tuhan yang setia dan taat memiliki suatu tugas yangpenting selanjutnya dalam melakukan apa yang diajarkan Tuhan. Rahmatpembaptisan dan keanggotaannya di dalam Gereja memandatkan mereka tanggungjawab untuk mengajarkan itu kepada orang lain, entah saudara entah teman,bahkan mereka yang tidak dikenalnya. Tanggung jawab dalam ketaatan dankesetiaan untuk melakukan ketetapan dan peraturan dari Tuhan mungkin lebihbersifat personal dan terbatas pada lingkup terbatas. Namun demi menjadipengikut Kristus yang berguna dan bermartabat, ada tanggung jawab sosial danpublik yaitu mengajarkan itu kepada sesama. Bahasa kitab sucinya ialah sebuahtanggung jawab sebagai garam dan terang dunia. Hidup setiap pengikut Kristusadalah sebuah kenyataan belajar dan mengajar. Marilahkita berdoa. Dalam nama Bapa... Ya Bapa yang bijaksana dan murah hati,penuhilah diri kami dengan kebijaksanaan dan kemurahan-Mu, agar kami dapatmenjadi garam dan terang dunia yang sesungguhnya. T.Daniel 3: 25.34-43; Mazmur tg 25: 4b-5b.6.7c.8-9; Matthew 18: 21-35.SYARATPENGAMPUNAN Tema renungan kita pada hari ini ialah: SyaratPengampunan. Meskipun Tuhan maha pengampun, dan karunia itu adalah cuma-cuma,tidak berarti kalau pengampunan dari-Nya langsung beres. Iman kita mengajarkanbahwa untuk mendapatkan pengampunan atas dosa-dosa itu, Gereja menyediakansakramen tobat. Di dalamnya ada elemen materialnya ialah dosa-dosa nyata yangdiakukan oleh si pendosa, dan elemen formalnya ialah formula absolusi yangdisampaikan bapak pengakuan, yang menyatakan pembebasan seseorang dari dosa-dosanya. Khususnya untuk elemen materialnya, ada syarat-syaratuntuk mendukung pengungkapan dosa-dosa pada kesempatan pengakuan dosa itu.Syarat-syarat tersebut menunjuk pada sikap dan cara orang mempersiapkan dirinyauntuk melakukan sebuah pengakuan dosa. Syarat-syarat resmi Gereja biasanyaterkait dengan bimbingan atau pedoman untuk diikuti oleh umat yangmempersiapkan diri menerima sakramen ini. Di samping itu, ada syarat-syaratpribadi yang penting sekali menjadi tanggung jawab setiap pribadi sehinggadapat menggambarkan iman dan penghayatannya akan sakramen ini. Untuk sikap-sikap pribadi, kedua bacaan pada hari ini,masing-masingnya memberikan petunjuk bagaimana pentingnya persiapan pengakuandosa itu. Nubuat Daniel dalam bacaan pertama menekankan tentang peran sikapmenyesal si pendosa. Penyesalan merupakan syarat yang sangat penting untukmemberikan kualitas pengakuan dosa sebagai sikap negatif dan tegas terhadapdosa-dosa. Jiwa yang remuk redam dan roh yang rendah menandakan kalau sipendosa sedih sekaligus marah atas kehinaan dirinya. Ia kasihan dengan dirinya yangbernasib jelek. Dengan demikian Tuhan yang maha rahim dapat berpaling perhatiandan kasih-Nya kepadanya. Orang yang tidak menampakkan penyesalan, biasanyamencari kambing hitam dari dosa-dosanya atau bangga dan senang karena denganberdosa ia dapat memenuhi niatnya. Injil Matius mengatakan bahwa jika kita tidak maumengampuni orang yang telah bersalah kepada kita, Bapa di surga tidakmengampuni kita. Doa “Bapa Kami” menekankan hal ini, karena ini adalah tindakanTuhan sendiri. Itu berarti bahwa sebelum mendapatkan tindakan formalpengampunan saat melakukan pengakuan dosa, kita mesti lebih dahulu mengampunimereka yang telah bersalah kepada kita. Oleh karena itu selain menyampaikanelemen-elemen material yaitu dosa-dosa nyata, si pendosa perlu jujurmenyampaikan juga bahwa ia telah mengampuni orang-orang yang ia sebutkan didalam pengakuannya. Suatu pengakuan dosa yang efektif dan berbuah terjadikarena adanya pengampunan terhadap si pendosa yang bersalah kepada kita,sebelum kita mendapatkan pengampunan dari Tuhan melalui Gereja. Marilahkita berdoa. Dalam nama Bapa... Ya Tuhan Yesus Kristus, ajarkanlah dansemangatilah kami untuk tidak malu dan takut untuk mengampuni. Bapa kami yangada di surga ... Dalam nama Bapa ....

Santo Efraim dari Siria yang hidup pada abad ke-4 Masehi,menulis begini tentang sembuhnya Naaman, tentara Siria, karena karunia Allahmelalui nabi Elisa: “Karena itu Naaman diutus ke Sungai Yordan dengan tujuanpenyembuhannya karena air itu dapat memulihkan manusia. Sesungguhnya, dosamerupakan kusta pada jiwa, yang tidak dapat diinderai, tetapi inteligensi dapatmembuktikannya. Kodrat manusia harus dibebaskan dari penyakit ini oleh kuasaKristus yang tersembunyi di dalam pembaptisan. Penting sekali bagi Naaman,supaya sembuh dari dua penyakit, tubuh dan jiwanya. Ini tepat sekali untukmewakili suatu rahmat pemurnian dan pengudusan segala bangsa dalam pemandianyang terus berlangsung, yang permulaannya di Sungai Yordan, ibu dan pemulapembaptisan.” Naaman seorang dari luar lingkup Yahudi yang beriman dantentu dianggap kafir. Namun ia tanpa halangan yakin bahwa ada kuasa Tuhan yangdapat memberikan kesembuhan atas sakit kustanya. Itu ia peroleh informasinyadari hamba Israel yang bekerja kepadanya. Orang-orang dalam kategori ini cepatterbuka dan menanggapi pesan berharga soal keyakinan iman, karena mereka padaprinsipnya memerlukan Tuhan. Naaman mewakili banyak orang saat ini yang jauh dari Tuhanyang belum mengenal-Nya. Mereka ingin masuk ke dalam iman kepada Tuhan melaluisuatu proses penyembuhan jiwa dan raga mereka. Raga mereka memiliki kekuranganbahkan sakit karena berada jauh dan terlepas dari kedekatan dan terjangkau olehsuatu hidup dalam persekutuan iman. Jiwa mereka terlebih-lebih belum memilikipokok untuk memberikan kebenaran mutlak tentang kehidupan dan menggantungkanharapan untuk keselamatan sesudah kematian. Proses ini tersedia di dalam jalanYesus Kristus melalui pembaptisan. Setelah Naaman, sudah begitu banyak orang diluar Yahudi yang menerima pembaptisan dan menjadi anggota Gereja sampai saatini. Tindakan Naaman tersebut berlawanan dengan orang-orang disekeliling Yesus bahkan dari tempat asalnya yang sezaman dengan Naaman. Merekasudah kuat dengan keyakinan sendiri, apalagi Yesus dianggapnya tidak lebihtidak kurang sebagai seorang yang sama dengan mereka. Mereka tahu betulkesederhanaan keluarga biologis Yesus, maka menjadi tidak mungkin bagi merekauntuk percaya kalau Ia memiliki kemampuan yang melebihi mereka. Tuhan Yesusingin supaya kita sebagai pengikut-Nya yang pertama dan penuh tanggung jawabmenerima Dia. Dengan menerima dan memiliki Dia, di mana dan kapan punkeberadaan kita, Ia hadir melalui kita dalam berbuat baik dan menciptakanpembaharuan. Marilahkita berdoa. Dalam nama Bapa... Ya Allah maha kuasa, kuatkanlah iman kami untukdapat menjadi saksi-saksi-Mu yang benar. Bapa kami... Dalam nama...
