Daily Halacha Podcast - Daily Halacha By Rabbi Eli J. Mansour
We conclude the daily Korbanot section with "Rabbi Yishmael Omer" – a Berayta (passage by a Tanna) authored by the great sage Rabbi Yishmael, listing the thirteen methods with which the Sages extracted Halachot from the text of the Torah. If one wishes to extract oil from the ground, it is not enough to know where the oil is located – he needs the right machinery to extract the oil from beneath the ground. Likewise, to deduce Halachot from the Biblical text, one needs to have the "tools," the rules by which the Halacha can be determined based on a careful analysis of the text. The first of these "tools" is Kal Va'homer, whereby a conclusion is reached through logical deduction, by noting that the Halacha applies in a less intuitive context. An analogy would be a person concluding that he can lift a certain heavy object after seeing that someone weaker than him was able to lift it. An example of a Kal Va'homer in the Torah is G-d's announcement of Miriam's punishment for speaking Lashon Ha'ra. He said that if Miriam's father had angrily scorned her, she would be ashamed for an entire week, so certainly, now that Hashem has scorned her by having her stricken with Sara'at, she should remain outside the camp for a week (Bamidbar 12:14). The second of Rabbi Yishmael's thirteen methods is Gezera Shava – extending a Halacha that applies in one context to a different context on the basis of a common word shared by these two areas of Halacha. Likely the most famous Gezera Shava is the connection drawn by the Sages between Pesach and Sukkot. The Torah establishes an obligation to eat Masa on the night of Pesach, the 15 th of Nissan, and the Sages deduced that on the first night of Sukkot one is similarly required to eat bread in the Sukka. As the Torah requires observing Pesach on "Hamisha Asar" – the "15 th " of Nissan, and it requires observing Sukkot on "Hamisha Asar" – the 15 th of Tishreh, we may infer that the obligation that applies on the night of Pesach applies also on Sukkot. Hence, one must eat bread in the Sukka on the first night of Sukkot just as one must eat Masa on the first night of Pesach. (Throughout the rest of Sukkot, although one who wishes to eat bread must do so in the Sukka, he does not have an obligation to eat bread in the Sukka; this obligation applies only on the first night.) The Tur writes that we recite this Berayta at the end of the Korbanot section between it is the introduction to Torat Kohanim – the Halachic Midrash on the Book of Vayikra, which focuses on the sacrifices, and is thus relevant to the topic of sacrifices. Furthermore, this Berayta appears in the Gemara (Yoma 33a), and thus by incorporating it as part of our daily prayer service, we ensure to learn some Gemara each day (just as reciting Ezehu Mekoman each day ensures the daily study of Mishna).

Karena memeluk agama itu sebagai hak dan pilihan individu ataukelompok, sifat natural manusiawi yang berambisi, suka promosi diri dan inginakan posisi atau jabatan sering mempengaruhi keyakinan setiap orang. Tuhan Yesus meminta kita tidak memiliki cara hidup berimanyang demikian. Yesus sendiri tidak memiliki tipe itu. Ia justru menghadirkansatu jenis hidup beriman yang berlawanan dengan ambisi, promosi dan posisi.Para pemuka agama, cendekia, ahli kitab suci dan kaum Farisi terkenal denganjenis agama ini. Menampilkan atau promosi kebaikan orang lain dan kehidupan bersamamelalui pekerjaan, pelayanan dan solidaritas daripada promosi diri sendiri.Kesempatan memakai posisi entah sipil atau keagamaan untuk pelayanan danpembaktian diri secara tulus dan tanggung jawab, daripada mencari keuntungandiri sendiri. Ketiga kecenderungan daging yang diuraikan tadi berakarpada kesombongan, yang merupakan salah satu dari 7 dosa pokok manusia. Kalauyang pokok ini dihilangkan maka dosa-dosa turunannya juga tak akan berkembang.Ada dua cara yang kita belajar hari ini untuk menghilangkan kesombonganmanusiawi. Pertama, kita setiap saat senantiasa memuji dan bersyukurkepada Tuhan. Rasul Paulus menasihatkan muridnya Timotius untuk menyatakanpujian dan syukur itu melalui suatu sikap iman yang benar, yaitu bersabar dalampenderitaan dan melakukan tugas pelayanan dan pewartaan dalam suka cita. Kedua, kerendahan hati menjadi pilihan sikap hidup yangkita kembangkan dan pelihara. Yesus memberi contoh melalui penampilan jandamiskin yang memberi derma. Kerendahan hati itu bukan berbentuk pasif dan tenangsaja, tetapi berbuat dan mempersembahkan sesuatu materi atau rohani yangmeskipun sederhana namun berguna bagi sesama dan kepentingan bersama. Marilahkita berdoa. Dalam nama Bapa... Kuatkan dan berkatilah kami, ya Tuhan YesusKristus, supaya melalui pekerjaan dan pelayanan kami yang rutin dan biasa, kamiingin melakukan itu dalam semangat menghadirkan kebaikan bagi sesama dan hidupkami bersama. Yesus adalah keturunan Daud menurut daging,tetapi juga Tuhan yang dinantikan Daud sendiri. Yesus sebenarnya menunjukkanbahwa mengenal Allah tidak cukup hanya dengan menguasai pengetahuan agama. Paraahli Taurat memiliki banyak pengetahuan tentang Kitab Suci, tetapi mereka gagalmemahami makna terdalam Sabda Tuhan yang mereka pelajari. Mereka kagum akankebijaksanaan Yesus, namun tidak mampu menerima kebenaran yang diwartakan-Nya.Kekaguman saja tidak cukup untuk menjadi murid. Iman menuntut kerendahan diriuntuk menerima terang Allah. Raja Daud sendiri menjadi teladankerendahan hati. Walaupun ia seorang raja besar yang disegani, ia mengakuibahwa Mesias yang akan datang jauh lebih agung daripada dirinya. Daud tidak menjadikandirinya pusat, melainkan mengarahkan pandangannya kepada Tuhan yang akanmenyelamatkan umat-Nya. Sikap inilah yang membedakan hati seorang berimandengan hati yang hanya mencari hormat dan pengakuan diri. Sebaliknya, dalam surat-suratPaulus kita melihat contoh relasi yang indah antara seorang guru dan murid.Paulus membimbing Timotius bukan hanya dengan kata-kata, tetapi juga denganteladan hidup. Timotius menerima pengajaran itu dengan kesetiaan dan ketaatan.Paulus menasihatinya agar tetap berpegang pada ajaran yang telah diterimanyaserta tidak mudah terpengaruh oleh ajaran yang menyesatkan. Timotius percayakepada Tuhan yang bekerja melalui bimbingan Paulus. Relasi Paulus dan Timotius menunjukkaniman yang bertumbuh melalui pendampingan dan kesetiaan. Tidak cukup hanyamendengar Sabda Tuhan atau mengagumi pewarta-Nya. Kita dipanggil untukmenghidupi kebenaran yang telah kita terima. Timotius tidak hanya mendengarkanPaulus, tetapi juga melaksanakan apa yang diajarkan kepadanya. Hari ini Tuhan mengajak kitauntuk bertanya kepada diri sendiri: apakah kita hanya mengagumi Yesus, atausungguh mengikuti-Nya? Apakah kita hanya mengetahui ajaran-Nya, atau berusahamelaksanakannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari? Semoga kita memiliki kerendahanhati yang sesungguhnya sebagai tanda iman yang benar.Marilahkita berdoa. Dibawakan oleh Yenny dari Paroki Santo Paulus di Keuskupan Bandung, Indonesia. 2 Timotius 2: 8-15; Mazmur tg 25: 4bc-5ab.8-9.10.14; Markus 12: 28b-34.JANTUNGNYA CINTA Renungan kita pada hari ini bertema: Jantungnya Cinta.Biasanya cinta itu indah dalam kata-kata. Tetapi cinta itu menjadi sempurnajika dilakukan atau dipraktikkan. Jadi cinta yang terungkap dalam kata-kata dandiwujudkan dalam tindakan yang sesuai dengan kata-kata, sebenarnya itu adalahjantungnya cinta. Tetapi ada masalah dengan cinta di sini. Persoalannyaialah orang menjalankan cinta sebagai sebuah teori atau rumusan, jadi bentuknyaialah ide, gagasan dan norma-norma. Misalnya jangan bicara kasar, jangan nampakkotor pada orang lain, dan banyak jangan atau larangan lainnya. Itu yang dibuat oleh orang-orang Yahudi, khususnya kaumcendekia dan ahli taurat. Mereka memiliki 600 lebih rumusan aturan agar orang-orang menjadi lebih baik dan beriman. Tapi ternyatajantung cinta atau inti cintanya tidak mereka miliki. Terlalu larut dalam teoridan rumusan, mereka lupa untuk menghidupi cinta itu. Dan Yesus sendiri yangmengajarkan mereka: jantung cinta ialah mencintai Allah dan sesama, keduanyasama penting dan sama sejatinya. Maka syarat fundamental ialah jangan berbuat ekstrem yaitufanatik untuk yang satu, sementara melupakan atau membenci yang lain. RasulPaulus menasihatkan Timotius di dalam suratnya yang kedua bahwa pewartaan danpendalaman keyakinan tentang kematian dan kebangkitan Kristus adalah metodedasar dalam pertumbuhan iman. Isi pewartaan itu sudah dimulai oleh Rasul Petruspada hari-hari pertama setelah Yesus bangkit. Ia berkotbah di hadapan semuaorang yang percaya dan yang belum. Aspek lain yang juga sangat penting ialah menghidupikeyakinan dan pemahaman iman tersebut. Rasul Paulus melanjutkan nasihatnya itu,bahwa muridnya itu dan kita semua pengikut Kristus hendaknya mati juga bersamaKristus supaya kita nanti hidup bersama Dia. Kita hendaknya bertekun agar kitaikut memerintah bersama Dia. Jika kita menyangkal Dia, Dia akan menyangkalkita. Jika kita tidak setia, Dia tetap setia, sebab Yesus tidak dapatmenyangkal diri-Nya sendiri. Mungkin hidup kita saat ini berlebur dalam urusan cintaberupa kata-kata, ilusi, gambar, janji, teori, rumusan, aturan, mimpi, ambisipribadi, uang, karir dan semua kaitan dengan kebutuhan duniawi. Bisa jadijantung cintanya, yaitu perbuatan mencintai sesama dan Tuhan yang nyata,langsung, dan berguna jauh dari perhitungan. Batin terasa sedang mencarijantung cinta yang kabur atau hilang. Apakah jantung cinta sekarang bersamamuatau jauh darimu? Marilahkita berdoa. Dalam nama Bapa ... Ya Tuhan Yesus Kristus, semoga kami tetapdalam bimbingan Roh-Mu dalam kesetiaan dan ketaatan mencintai Dikau dan sesamakami, sebab dengan demikian kami sanggup menunjukkan diri sebagaimurid-murid-Mu yang sesungguhnya. Seorang pemuda menaksir seorang gadis yang sudah ia kenal beberapa bulanlamanya. Gadis itu lebih muda sepuluh tahun darinya. Sang pemuda selalumenyempatkan diri untuk bertemu dengan gadis pilihannya itu. Pada suatu ketikaia menyatakan secara langsung cintanya kepada gadis cantik itu. Pemuda itu berkata: "Saya jatuh cinta padamu. Apakahkamu dapat menerima saya, mengingat perbedaan usia kita 10 tahun. Selama inisaya kuatir untuk berbicara karena faktor perbedaan usia ini." Gadis itumenjawab: "Tidak apa-apa. Saya terima kok. Yang penting harus terpenuhisatu syaratnya." "Syarat apa?" tanya si pemuda. "Syaratnyaialah, kamu menunggu saja sampai usia saya sama dengan usiamu." Selama kita sebagai manusia di dunia ini kita akanmengalami banyak salah paham. Cerita di atas adalah salah satu contohnya. Salahpaham umumnya terjadi karena di antara kita tidak ada satu pemahaman ataupemikiran yang sama. Jika kita tidak berusaha mengatasinya, ini akan berpotensimenjadi konflik dan pemicu perpecahan di antara kita. Kita hendaknyamenghindari contoh-contoh salah paham yang kita temukan di dalam kitab suci. Kisah tentang Tobit yang ditunjukkan dalam Perjanjian Lamamenggambarkan salah paham orang tentang penderitaan sebagai orang beriman.Penderitaan karena Yesus jangan dianggap sebagai kutukan dan nasib yang sangatmemalukan. Justru penderitaan adalah kesempatan mendapatkan rahmat dan berkatTuhan. Salah paham yang kedua ialah pandangan bahwa kebaikan dan panggilankudus didapatkan adalah semata-semata karena perbuatan manusia. Tuhan dipandangtidak berperan apa-apa. Seharusnya, ini adalah karena maksud dan kasih TuhanAllah sendiri yang memilih dan memberikan kita martabat yang tinggi. Orang-orang Saduki salah paham bahwa nanti di dalam hidupabadi suami-istri biologis akan melanjutkan lagi perkawinan mereka di sana.Mereka berpikir bahwa manusia hanya akan pindah alamat tempat tinggal ketikananti memasuki kehidupan di alam baka. Yesus menegaskan bahwa mereka sungguhsalah paham dan itu membuat arah hidup mereka menjadi salah. Jika terjadi salah paham, apa yang mesti kita lakukan?Hendaklah kita sadar bahwa Tuhan adalah tempat kita mendapatkan terang, nasihatdan jalan untuk berbalik ke paham yang benar. Hendaklah kita juga salingmengingatkan supaya salah paham itu jangan diteruskan dan berpeluang untukmenjadi besar. Konflik sudah siap menyerang jika salah paham ini tidakdihentikan. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Selasa, 26 Mei 2026Bacaan: "...aku melupakan apa yang telah di belakangku dan mengarahkan diri kepada apa yang di hadapanku, dan berlari-lari kepada tujuan untuk memperoleh hadiah..." (Filipi 3:13-14)Renungan: Pernahkah memperhatikan katak setiap melompat? Dalam setiap gerakannya itu, ia selalu fokus menatap ke depan, berpindah dari satu tempat ke tempat lain. Hewan, yang dapat hidup di darat dan air tawar, tidak pernah menoleh ke belakang dan terus saja menjelajah, menemukan tempat-tempat baru, seolah tidak memusingkan hal-hal di sekelilingnya. Tidak peduli cuaca apapun, pandangannya selalu lurus sehingga dapat dengan lincah ia melompat maju dan cepat pula berkelit dari serangan musuhnya ketika dirinya sedang terancam. Paulus juga tidak mengingat-ingat masa lalunya yang kelam sebagai penganiaya para jemaat Tuhan. Ia menyerahkan dirinya kepada panggilan-Nya untuk memberitakan Injil. Masa lalu yang kelam seringkali memang membuat kita kehilangan tujuan hidup. Rasanya tidak bersemangat untuk menatap hari. Namun, kalau kita mendekat kepada Tuhan, kegelapan tidak akan menaungi kita selamanya, tetapi Roh-Nya akan membangkitkan semangat kita yang telah patah. Seberat apapun masalah kita, Tuhan sungguh mengasihi kita sehingga harapan baru akan muncul kembali yang kemudian membuat kita semangat menjalani hidup ini. Sekarang bukan saatnya lagi bagi kita untuk terus menjalani hari dengan tatapan kosong akibat kegagalan masa lalu atau luka batin apapun yang membuat kita kecewa berat. Kita punya harapan dalam Tuhan yang mau berkarya dengan indahnya di sisa hidup kita. Bangunlah dari "tidur panjang" yang telah menggerogoti tahun-tahun kita sehingga kita tidak dapat meraih hal-hal manis dalam hidup yang telah Tuhan janjikan untuk kita. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, masa depanku indah bersama-Mu. Bantulah aku untuk tidak mengingat lagi masa laluku yang kelam, tapi arahkan hati dan pikiran ku ke masa depanku yang cerah bersama-Mu. Amin. (Dod).

He plans to activate parks for POTA using FT8 and Ham2kPortable Logger. CP – Bolivia - Team CP7DX has released some details of the upcoming DXpedition. They plan to be QRV from Tarija May 26 to June 6, including the CQ WW WPX CW weekend. The rest of the time they will do SSB, CW and FT8, 160-6M and EME on 144 and 432 MHz. The 4K0T“DXpedition and Contest Team” is going, joined by the ARAS, the Azerbaijan Radio Amateurs Society. They say the park is remarkable, on the Caspian Sea. It is grid LN50eg. They plan HF SSB and will have live updates, photos, logs and QSL info as things unfold.

He plans real time log uploads and also Club Log livestream. T8 – Palau - T88IL, T88JH and T88KY will be an operation May 21-24, ops JF3PLF, JR3QFB and JA1MFR, from Koror. Masa, Yoshi, and Masa will be on 160-6M SSB, CW and digital. QSL details are on QRZ.com. ET – Ethiopia - DL9WVM, Ulli, says he has two more weeks in Addis, and is QRV on CW from ET3AA as time permits. He is there visiting family. W9XY, Bob, say he may do some remote operating from that station, when DL9WVM is not operating. K4ZW, Ken, will also be there, next weekend. QSLs for K4ZW operations will go to N2OO as usual. ZC4 - UK Sovereign Base Areas on Cyprus - G4WXJ, Dave, will operate as ZC4RH from Dhekelia (KM64ux) between May 24 and 30, using 100 watts with Yaesu 857D and Xiegu X6100 radios.
