Send us a Text Message.For the second year in a row, Donnie Vincent invited Matt and Jared out to his place in western Wisconsin to hunt Eastern Tom Turkeys.  We had a blast, literally and figuratively, with Donnie, TJ, and Forrest.  To say we are honored to call Donnie a friend would be a vast understatement.  We know how fortunate we are to have the opportunity to hunt and hang out with one of the great stewards of the hunting community.  This episode covers several stories never heard before.  We asked Donnie about his most dangerous hunts and the hunts where he was most scared for his life.  The result?  2 hours of unbelievable stories from a living legend.  We hope you enjoy this first of two episodes from our 2024 trip to hang out with Donnie Vincent.  

A podcast 2 years in the making!  Unfortunately, Covid cancelled our podcast with the Huntmaster himself, Gregg Ritz, at the ATA show in Louisville, KY.  We would say it was worth the wait though as Jared and Matt were able to meet with Gregg an hour before the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg opened.  Gregg explained his show Huntmasters is really about the people he has as guests or guides, but after talking to Gregg for just an hour, we're sure you'll agree... Gregg is a Huntmaster.  Gregg dives into what you should be doing right now to prepare to kill your next whitetail.  Gregg also shares the story of "Rover," a 7 1/2 year old buck he harvested this past year.  We could have spent hours more talking to Gregg, but we had to shut it down for his fans who were en route to the Traditions booth to meet him.

We have been so fortunate to have some amazing guests, and this guest was no exception!  Melissa Bachman of Winchester's Deadly Passion television show on the Sportsman's Channel joined Matt and Jared at the 2024 Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA.  Melissa is one of the hardest working people in the outdoor industry and her story of how she fought her way into the business is one of grit and the American Dream.  Our time with Melissa was short, but we covered her entry into the outdoor industry, her rockstar son, Jax, use of a decoy when hunting whitetails and her favorite hunt.  We hope you enjoy listening to one of the kindest souls you will ever meet anywhere, Ms. Melissa Bachman.

Following our Podcast with David Holder for Raised at Full Draw, he offered to have his boys, Warren and Easton, on for a Podcast.  We couldn't say yes fast enough!  Listen in as the Holder family recaps an amazing year of hunts from 2023.  Easton tells the story of connecting on his first Bull Elk, while Warren relives killing a buck of a lifetime named BG on their Iowa farm.  These guys are as real and down to earth as you will find and we thoroughly enjoyed their stories.  We hope you do too!

The Blueline Bowhunters was originally founded on sharing our love of the outdoors and helping others along the way.  This year we have teamed up with the awesome members of the Raised at Full Draw crew.  Raised at Full Draw (RAFD) is an organization dedicated to exposing youth and adults to archery, bowhunting and outdoor education. For the purpose of getting closer to nature, conserving and managing wildlife to help maintain healthy populations.RAFD was established to help reduce the declining participation of hunters nationwide. RAFD believes in having a direct positive impact on the future of hunting to help increase  and retain hunters.  One way for the organization to do that is with a hands on approach and interaction through the means of bowhunting. In order to meet our mission, RAFD offers hands on educational hunting camps to youth ages 12-17 in various locations across the country as well as Outdoor Retreats for Women and a newly established family camp.In this episode, Matt and Jared sit down at the ATA show in St. Louis with RAFD's creator, David Holder (Raised Hunting) and the Chief Operating Officer, Donise Peterson. 

As they are driving home from the ATA show in St. Louis, Jared and Matt recap their 2023 Hunting and Trapping seasons.  There are stories of success and some of failure.  But hey, that's why they call it hunting and not getting right?  Jared and Matt detail their Turkey hunts with Donnie Vincent.  Matt covers the legends who eluded him this year, Cornealius the Turkey and Harley the Whitetail Buck.  Jared covers the trials and tribulations of his deer season and Matt talks about this unexpected success on the trapline.  Oh, and the guys get distracted talking and miss their exit.  Hope you enjoy!

Live from the 2024 ATA Show in St. Louis, MO.  Jared and Matt stop in at the Trophyline Tree Saddle booth and check in with Weston Schrank and Nick Betts to see what's new at Trophyline.  Weston and Nick detail the launch of their new Hyperlite climbing sticks and platform.  Several years in the making, you can see why Trophyline is excited about their launch of the Hyperlite.  Oh and it won 3rd place at the ATA show for Best New Product.

This episode was recorded while Jared and Matt were driving home from the 2024 Archery Trade Association (ATA) Show in St. Louis, Missouri.  Jared and Matt cover the highlights of this years show and divulge the new people they met and the new podcasts they recorded.  There is also some exciting news shared from the guys!  Hope you enjoy!

A once in a lifetime opportunity.  We say this all too often.  But in the case of Matt and Jared, their 2023 has been full of them.  October 29, 2023, was no different.  Matt and Jared had the opportunity to meet a legend in the outdoor industry while he was on his book tour, Mr. Jim Shockey.  Jim has just released his first novel, Call Me Hunter.  Matt messaged Jim about getting together to discuss the book on a podcast, to which Jim said, "Easy as pie."  Matt and Jared read the novel in less than a week so they would be able to discuss the book with Jim.  Fair warning, Call Me Hunter is not an autobiography of Jim's life.  Or is it?  Jim used many of his life events, historical facts and a little bit of fiction to create this thriller.  Jim flips many of the stereotypes we have come to expect from Hollywood and the New York Times Best Seller list.  Jim's hope?  Call Me Hunter will open a dialogue between those of "our world" as hunters and those who are not.  We hope you enjoy this one, and do yourself a favor and grab a copy of Call Me Hunter.

This episode was a collaboration with our friend from Nock Performance, Tyler Geiger.  Tyler and Jared had developed a friendship over the past year and Tyler asked the Blueline guys to be on his podcast.  Tyler used to be a police officer himself and made the leap to his new niche, the Nock Performance Podcast.  Our guy Tyler is killing it too!  Tyler interviewed Jared and Matt but agreed to let us share the podcast with our listeners too.  This is a cool listen as we dive deeper into how we got here and a lot more into our "9 to 5" of being State Troopers.  Hope you guys enjoy this one!

The part of starting the Blueline Bowhunters has been the people we have met and the friendships we have made.  One of our first friendships was with Scott Bakken who worked at a bow sight company.  Scott and his business partners had a desire to create a better bow sight.  Together the created Dialed Archery, bow sights designed on purpose.  Creating a business during Covid was not an easy task, but Scott and the boys made it through with a piece of art we can all now enjoy.  Join us to hear about the Dialed Archery sight in our whirlwind podcast with Scott at the Total Archery Challenge in Seven Springs, PA.

We hope you are just as excited for Part 2 of our Donnie Vincent podcast as we are!  In the first podcast with Donnie we learned about who Donnie is and how he became the influencer he is today.  In this episode we learn about where Donnie is trying to lead the outdoor and hunting community.  Donnie shows us that maybe it isn't nonhunters who are ruining our way of life, but hunters ourselves who are "shooting ourselves in the foot."  Donnie has a ton of passion when talking about hunting as a way of life and even more passion when he speaks of protecting that right.  We hope you enjoy the conclusion to our Donnie Vincent series.

They say you should never meet your hero as it is sure to lead to disappointment.  Whoever said this obviously didn't consider Donnie Vincent to be their hero because they would not have been disappointed.  This story starts out 7 months ago when Donnie liked a picture on the Blueline Bowhunters Instagram page.  Matt and the rest of the BLBH crew are huge fans of Donnie.  When Donnie liked the picture Matt commented how awesome it would be to have Donnie on his podcast.  Well, 7 months, 47 emails, and several cancelled plans by both sides led to Donnie inviting Matt and Jared on a 3 day trip of a lifetime.  Matt and Jared hunted Turkey's with Donnie resulting in two longbeards, one of which was Jared's first, two podcasts, a million laughs and the start of several unexpected friendships.  This first episode covers who Donnie is, where he came from, and where he is going.   Donnie is a biologist, adventurer, conservationist, and a hunter.

For over a year Matt and Andy have worked together a Pennsylvania State Troopers.  Both Matt and Andy have a love for hunting and a place in the outdoor industry.  Like most things in life the two of them talked about doing a podcast together and it never happened.  Finally, they made the time and it happened.  In this episode Matt and Andy talk about Andy taking over Matt's former position in PSP, Andy's pursuit of the Grand Slam, Royal Slam, and harvesting a turkey in every state you legally can.  They also talk about Andy's business, Honey Hole Game Calls, and Andy's great diaphragm turkey calls.

In this episode we get everyone involved!  We share our adventures through great week outside of Meeker, Colorado with Rivers Bend Outfitters.  In this episode Matt, Lance, and Duell talk with their guides Tel, Ray and Ben about the week that was.  Some cool stories, a few laughs, and we even let Tel have the mic for a bit to share his opinions on hunting in the state of Colorado and where it's future.  The audio isn't our best, but come on... our studio is a canvas tent at 8,900 feet in a rain storm!  It's like your right there with us having a glass of Old Elk whiskey.  Enjoy! 

     In this episode we come to you live from our Elk Hunt Base Camp tucked in the Rocky Mountains.  Lance, Duell, and Matt go on a 5 day guided elk hunt in National Forest with River's Bend Outfitters.  This episode isn't about the Blueline Bowhunters though as Matt's dad, Big Dave, also made the trip and made a memory of a lifetime. We had a quarter of the technology we normally have, but for some reason this podcast sounds sweet from 8,900 feet.

Matt meets up with the "Coffee Viking" at the 7 Springs Total Archery Challenge.  AJ Kazmierczak talks about his Coffee business and tells the story about how a 111 yard bow shot literally changed his life.  In a world full of bad guys like the Blueline guys see daily, AJ's positive/upbeat attitude is a breath of fresh air.  Enjoy the listen and keep your eye out for Jennings Java near you!

Matt travels to the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA to discuss his Elk hunt this September in Meeker, Colorado.  Years in the making, Matt has developed a long standing friendship with Tel Gates and his guides.  Finally, Matt, along with Lance and Duell will make the trip to Colorado to be guided by the great people of River's Bend Outfitters!  If you have ever wanted to go on an elk hunt, this podcast is worth the listen.

Bruno and Matt sit down and talk to a former Brother in Blue, Johnny Utah.  Johnny spent 16 years on the force, specializing in narcotics.  Now, Johnny is a respected content creator, consultant, call maker and hunting film producer in the outdoor industry.  This one is worth a listen.

In this episode the crew of the Blueline Bowhunters found themselves in Louisville, Kentucky for the 2022 Archery Trade Association Show! In this episode, Matt and Jared sit down with Casey Vandergrift of Prime Archery and his friend Jonah Bell of "New Grounds"!  They discuss what's new in 22' with Prime, G5, and the exciting hunts that the New Grounds crew will be going on this year.  Also, ignore Matt at the beginning saying its the 2021 ATA show, he had too much of that Kentucky Bourbon! As a follow up to Episode 5, Jared and Lance go over your camera settings for photos and video and what they mean.  Are we experts? Not at all.  In fact, we are primarily self taught.  But, we have tried a ton of different things and screwed up a lot.  This episode is about what we have learned on our journey and hopefully you can learn something too!

     With today's cancel culture it is even more important for the hunting industry to stick together.  However, there are still some issues that seem to still divide hunters apart.  In today's episode we'll look at Public vs. Private Land, the use of Trail Cameras, the size of buck you shoot, Compound vs. Traditional vs. Crossbow, and Baiting vs. Food Plots.  These are some of the biggest issues that upset hunters.  We discuss these issues, but ultimately, do what makes you happy.
