Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours, and since the end of the Second World War that's exactly what the US and Canada have been. They've enjoyed free trade agreements, close knit economic ties - and not so friendly ice hockey matches. But recently this relationship has soured, with President Trump calling them “one of the nastiest countries to deal with”. It looks like the era of mostly free trade is over, with a raft of tariffs set to come into force on April the 2nd, or “liberation day” a Donald Trump calls it. But is President Trump right about the trading relationship between the two countries? What does he mean when he claims that “the US subsidises Canada $200 billion a year”? On February 4th, President Donald Trump said that all Palestinians in Gaza should leave the coastal enclave and go to other Arab countries such as Egypt or Jordan—a move that, if actualized, would mark a drastic chapter in the Palestinians' history of being ethnically cleansed. Israel immediately embraced the idea, with the country's war minister ordering the military to draft plans to facilitate a mass exodus of Palestinians from Gaza. Palestinian groups as well as Egypt, Jordan, and many other countries have roundly rejected the idea, but Trump and his foreign policy team continue to insist that they will carry out the plan which would end in a US takeover of Gaza.On this episode of On the Nose, Jewish Currents senior reporter Alex Kane spoke to Mouin Rabbani, a co-editor of Jadaliyya, and Tariq Kenney-Shawa, US policy fellow at Al-Shabaka, about situating this moment in the long history of Palestinians displacement, whether and how a Trump ethnic cleansing plan is likely to unfold, and how it will impact the ceasefire in Gaza. Thanks to Jesse Brenneman for producing and to Nathan Salsburg for the use of his song “VIII (All That Were Calculated Have Passed).”Further Reading“With No Buy-in From Egypt or Jordan, Trump Appears to Back Away From His Gaza Plan,” Michael Shear, The New York Times“‘Trump Gaza is finally here!': US president promotes Gaza plan in AI video,” Mick Krever and Mostafa Salem, CNN“Palestinians in Paraguay,” Hadeel Assali, London Review of Books“Trump Revives Biden's Failed Proposal To Remove Palestinians From Gaza,” Matthew Petti, Reason“Netanyahu's Goal for Gaza: ‘Thin' Population ‘to a Minimum,'” Ryan Grim, The Intercept“WikiLeaks: Israel Intentionally Kept Gaza on Brink of Economic Collapse,” Joshua Norman, CBS News“Exclusive: Egypt's alternative to Trump's 'Gaza Riviera' aims to sideline Hamas,” Andrew Mills, Reuters“Trump wants Palestinians out of Gaza. They have worked with dozens of villages in Thailand to get them ready before “opening up” to tourists. During this process, which can take months or even years, they help locals identify the meals, activities and sights that will interest visitors, and they bring in outside investment to improve the village. Then they help establish a fair stream of revenue for the community. We travel with Somsak Boonkam, the founder of Local Alike, as he faces his toughest challenge yet: to work with his own home town as it prepares for tourists.Presenter: Myra Anubi Producer/reporter: William Kremer Series Producer: Jon Bithrey Editor: Tom Bigwood Sound mix: Andrew Mills

One of the most common cancers our dogs face is mast cell cancers. These can result in surgery and sometimes even amputation. There is a new drug called Stelfonta that recently came to market that can help some cases avoid those outcomes. Dr. Andrew Mills is a veterinarian in Indiana who has had a chance to use the product and he'll tell us about the results he has found. As the end of year holidays approach you might be doing more traveling with your pets. That can mean more stress for them - and that means more stress for you! Veterinary Behaviorist Dr. Theresa DePorter joins Steve to talk about ways you can help your pets be less stressed when visiting friends and family for the holidays. Steve has holiday safety tips and helps listeners by phone and email.

It's spooky season, so the gang takes a trip back to 1683, when the devil arrived in Country Durham and commanded a farm hand named Andrew Mills to murder three children with an axe in a crime described as “the most horrid and barbarous murder that was ever heard in the North”.And if you so wish, you can try and summon the killer at midnight on Halloween - although you will have to go to the fancy hotel built on the site of the murder these days.Look, we never said we were growing up terrified in the nineteen eighties. We also take a look at the poisoned baby food scare of 1988, when – without the excuse of demonic possession – Rodney Whitchelo put five babies in hospital by spiking their food with acid and razor blades in an attempt to blackmail Heinz. John is “desperately trying to be Victoria Coren Mitchell”. Jane is “perfectly memorable”. Gareth makes the devil sound like Rylan standing in your kitchen trying to bully you into getting a vasectomy. Harry's get some free advertising they could probably do without. Along the way: The strange direction taken by the Air Bud franchise! Judith Kerr's odder children's books! Murderous Come Dine With Me! And if you want to recreate the urban myth of the Ferryhill Demon even though the buildings aren't there anymore  the what three words is “sprinter.saloons.sulk”You can reach us on email everyonediesinsunderland@gmail.com, on Twitter at @everyonediespod, on Facebook and Instagram. Our theme music is the song “Steady Away” by Pete Dilley and can be found on his album Half-truths and Hearsay which you can/should buy/stream here: https://petedilley.bandcamp.com/album/half-truths-and-hearsaySome dogs are threatened with poisoned Pedigree Chum in this podcast.“When you punish a person for dreaming his dream, don't expect him to thank you or forgive you, the Best Ever Death Metal Band out of Denton will in time both outpace and outlive you/ Hail Satan! Andrew is a 25 year old keeper originally from Liverpool, England. He grew up in the Liverpool Academy before moving to play at Macclesfield Town, where he signed his first pro contract. Unfortunately, he was released from Macclesfield when his 18 month contract ran out. After that at 18, he thought it was his time to hang up his boots. Eventually he found out about an opportunity in Sweden through the League Football Education program in Sweden. 3 weeks after being released from Macclesfield, he was on a plane to Sweden. He signed a contract in the sixth tier of Swedish football to get the love back for the game. After 3 months with the team, he made a move to Friska Viljor in the fifth tier of Sweden. After helping them to promotion, he made a move to the fourth tier club IFK Östersund. Luckily enough for him, he got an opportunity with the premier league team in the same city (Östersunds FK) to join them for a 1 month loan after one of their keepers' got injured. He was then named on the bench for several of Östersunds' Europa League qualifying matches (against clubs like Galatasaray & Arsenal). After impressing on his loan spell, Andrew secures a permanent deal with the club. He went front training 2-3 times per week to being back to full-time. As you will clearly here in the podcast, Andrew talks several times about being ready for the opportunity when it comes, and no matter what League you are in, you need to be training and have the mindset like you are in the first League. As he clearly states, football is a 24/7 job and you can not expect to make big moves if you don't treat it as such. If you want to get in touch with Andrew; shoot him a message on Instagram @andrewmills2.

Don't call it a comeback! Call it a show that we recorded at Antenna in Nottingham on Thursday 25th April with multiple Super-Special Guests and the first recorded appearance of our FOTS badges-back.It's a little teaser to remind you of our show before we're officially back, Back, BACK in September. So what do you learn in this episode? Well, aside from hearing about why Ann has put Prince Harry on the EOTS list and why Simon has been signed up by the ECB as a Gary Pratt-esque sub fielder, you mostly hear from our amazing SSGs and the equally amazing stuff that they're working on.We have Neil Jones who despite being Australian doesn't start all of his sentences with "Aw look", Owen the House DJ explains how to best use a Tenori-on, Stefan Morris gives us a good excuse to touch people bums without having to sing the Cheeky Girls. We also hear about how to make game guide from Andrew Mills and Graham Spence teaches us about Swirling (which sounds a lot dodgier than it actually is).And that's not all. We also sign up Sam Kay as a FOTS and Charlotte joins our ever increasing band of lawyers. OTHER PODCASTS BEWARE.See you again in September!Cheerio!Team OLL x
