Being kind most, to the one that matters most -you! This concept has been such a huge part of my own experiences in churning through recent hardships. Being your own coach, your own confidant by writing in a journal or telling yourself in the mirror you love you (don't worry I am struggling with this one too) are just some ways to gain that important self worth and stepping back into your power. This one is pretty raw so make sure you too take the time whatever that may be to be kind to yourself, remember taking the step to get some professional support can be overwhelming but I can assure you it helps! There is a distinct difference between achieving and expectations. Whether it be on self, others or the world around us, this inner work on the expectation of others not meeting our own needs and wants is central to being a better version of ourselves. The act or mindset of allowing ourselves to be at the mercy of other people and situations out of our control too often, is in my view walking a tightrope of duress, stress and anxiety that we really don't need in our lives. Try setting the bar a bit lower, make the jump over a little easier on yourself and for others regardless of if they are in alignment with our own values or not. It does help! Protecting yourself, the ones you hold close and the core values that matter most in your life involve the necessity of setting boundaries. Easier said than done right? Placing boundaries in our everyday journey of life are just like most areas of our well being - hard freaking work! Be brave and courageous to start implementing a boundary for your own peace, this could be as simple as not taking a call when you are not ready or busy. It could be not checking that work email until the family time is complete, or better still in work time. If you want to start living more on your terms, you must be willing to have a difficult conversation or sit in some discomfort. This has been massive for me lately, enjoy! I've returned for a third season, a very humbling feeling to be creating in the act of helping others once more. Thanks so much yet again for your support. 2022 has been a very tough ride so far, throughout this season I will take you through some of the key learnings I have taken away from this experience. Self-worth is where it starts for me to kick off, ensuring you look within and speak to yourself with kindness, compassion and empathy always. No matter the happenings in your life to this point, you must acknowledge and reassure the person that matters most- you! A core inner mantra, is to embrace and know your worth of all that you are and aspire to be! It is awesome to be back fam, I do appreciate you greatly! The season that was, everything I pushed out for the last 2 years in this arena I am currently doubling down on in this current time. This is raw, vulnerable and the most important episode to date. The good, the bad and the ugly, it matters most when we show up and be true. Showing up for someone is sometimes as simple as a text message to connect, be someone's ears when they need it or guiding a group through adversity in challenging times. This episode is dedicated to all of you who have felt the pressure, duress and hardships of recent times. Take a moment to take some of these reflections onboard, some might work out for you some won't, but the key is to just try each and every day to be a better version of you. Bringing in acts of kindness to society that really needs it right now, is a way we can transition back to reasonable functionality. Whether it is for self, for close ones or for the greater community, this powerful way of showing compassion and good will. Is what is needed in a world engulfed with fear and uncertainty. What act of kindness can you show right now? Remember it is ultra important to look at acts of kindness for yourself, forgiveness for past happenings , taking life a little seriously or just stopping and celebrating you for being you! Again if I can add something to your approach to life out of this, then I am happy and content. Don't forget to subscribe and please leave a review.. We can all resonate with this in one way or another throughout our journey of life. This is one of the core terms I talk to when it comes to accepting what feeling, experience, situation, space or group we find ourselves in. It's not always going to be in your comfort zone. Nor should it, we cannot have it all ourway. If you have heard the saying ‘ I can't have my cake and eat it too?' That could happen, you could well get that full cake and scorf it all down for yourself. That would be satisfying right? Well I know you know that isn't sustainable or even realistic, at some points in different situations and times we find ourselves in. We soon realise that we have to be able to be comfortable in the uncomfortable. Not for everyone, but I hope you can grab some of this narrative to embed into yours. Carving the time out for yourself, when is the last time you did that? The integral core pillar for holistic wellness in mind, body and spirit, the time to do something just for you. It doesn't matter too much what that is, a walk in nature, a swim, reading a book or just breathing and being present. I divulge some key concepts of my own journey of self care, but it is just as important for you to search, reconnect or continue the internal work you do for you to be a better version of yourself. Make the commitment to do something that gives you purpose and fulfilment, at least 20 minutes of the day or 2 hours if you can. It all helps and grounds us back into feeling some enjoyment and working on being kind to ourselves once again. Don't forget to subscribe and please leave a review.. Can you rise above to really see the situation from all angles? Today I take on the beastly last few months of what has been my lens of life throughout the recent lockdowns in the country they call Australia. If we can try our best to vibrate higher, along with using that time to grow and adapt then that is all very useful for us. An inward look at the learnings and reflections we've experienced can go a long way to making us better versions of ourselves and our journey's in life. Just taking a zoomed out view of it all, especially in these times of uncertainty just helps even if it is only subtly. I hope you enjoy my deep dive into it all, hold on it's a little rocky but I hope there is something there for you to take. Don't forget to subscribe and please leave a review.. This one is an epic tale of a man who walks the walk for the greater good! Josh has an uncanny resemblance to my journey of identity, that was a moment we both bounced off with this yarn. The energy, focus and application of this man is incredible, traveling to communities sharing leadership, positivity, fun, culture and of course wellness. Identity II Who do you think you are? Take a moment and sit with that, do you know where your values sit? When we dive into our identity of searching within ourselves it takes courage, time and growth. My inner child is a deep wound within myself that carries a powerful trauma, but at the same time that inner child is a hero that demonstrates strength, determination and leadership. I often reflect on the child version of myself to help feel the pain, playfulness and energy of who I once was. I haven't lost that, it will always stay within me. Honour, cherish and celebrate that inner child as he/she is now a central essence of who you are, good, bad or ugly. Perspective of the otherside, the situation , the conversation or viewpoint. All of this needs to be taken into account to ensure we can make a considered decision or action. Never easy, especially in times like the present with the societal change that is occurring for us all. The virtue of perspective again is being in compromise, uncertainty or uncomfortable feelings, can you journey to the other side of the equation to see it from a different angle? I take on a few aspects of what has helped me get through these difficult times, but just ensure you can take the key messages of positive learnings or reflections of it all to consider. Ethan's story is one to savor when it comes to turning 180 degrees to get back on track. Listen for the pinnacle moment, it comes true and deep to the core. It is a moment that many ignore, dismiss or turn away from due to the unknown and having to have the toughest view of all looking at self. Now helping other men on the road to recovery, Ethan is mobilising healing journeys and creating pathways for better social emotional wellbeing outcomes by sharing his life experience. This is ultra powerful as it comes from a place of understanding the real struggle of the work on self. Taking a look into the accountability mirror each and everyday helps us be inline with our truth and how we approach life. Acceptance right now may be really hard to find some perspective around, I feel ya and so many others too. Left, right or somewhere in between where are you sitting? Remember it's ok to question things internally in order to find a space of medium neutrality. So much black and white, this and that or you versus us is not good for us. Looking for balance in a current time of severe imbalance and bias is not comfortable to many. Despite the obvious, we should do whatever we can to connect and listen to the natural laws and be sovereign, humble and find an understanding within ourselves. Right now there are many in the middle of the left and the right of society trauma. Even if we are in positions of duress and difference of opinion, it is important to hold respect for one another and find a compromise. Some of us encounter compromise more than others, the reaction or response to this situation should come from a place of integrity more than fear or uncertainty. The energy of feeling uncomfortable to be comfortable is foreign to many of us, however if we can continue to build resilience around compromise we can be better versions of ourselves. Stepping out another 42.2km was an incredible process that I will long remember, throughout the chaos of the current times of the second lockdowns I got it done. After a setback of what would have been my first official event, I got serious kick in the ass the day after I was supposed to run and nearly gave in altogether. But within a few days I was back grinding out the steps once again, to take on the milestone of what they call a marathon. Having faith in the process Letting go and allow the process to just take place, something that is in most cases a lot easier said than done. Here is a deep dive into the micro of having faith in a process, this can be an application to anything in your life work, self healing or decision making. When we are connected to something higher than us, we have to listen and abide by the universal truth laws of living. When we try to force, rush or make things happen they tend to not have the appropriate energy or perhaps leave something really important out of the equation. I was prodded into accountability by 2 members of the BBTW tribe to record this episode. It was a really important reflection. Hope you can get something out of this. Join in on a reflection of the season that was, I really relished this podcast on so many levels. I found it healing to be able to get right into the act of service and giving back to the community. I am joined by the two brothers that helped me kick start this journey Jamie Thomas (Episode 4 - Man in the arena) & Jack Bulman (Episode 6- Creating safe space) this was a great opportunity to hear their thoughts on the season, the key moments for them & also some thoughts on the year that was 2020. My final solo podcast for the season, I take you into a raw and relevant teaching from another brother that I had to take on recently. Jeff Hardy is a man who just keeps on giving, a former NRL player with a stellar and lengthy career. But it doesn't stop there for Jeff he has continued his strong application to his purpose into coaching and now mentoring young Indigenous boys through the Clontarf Foundation. Through guiding young fallas through the journey of life, encouraging them to get educated in both worlds and pursue their love of sport and fitness Jeff has helped establish a formula that works. Connection to culture is no doubt a key feature in his approach to learning, listen in for his words around turning up, doing the work and always focusing on your ‘response’! PTR- Patience, Tolerance & Respect, the value system I have embraced to move forward in life. To achieve, to grow and be a better version of myself. Accountability, vulnerability & reflection of our own behaviours is an important facet of self healing, remembering that those around us will also benefit from the work we do on ourselves. As a whole people have not had all the knowledge, guidance and nurturing to lean into this kind of awareness however in this time now we all have the opportunity. We can make the small steps to encourage and make the change as a community and society at large, if the world is going to be a better place than for me it all starts with learning how to embody Patience, Tolerance & Respect! All the concepts of becoming a leader and knowing what our roles are in our community is mostly an ongoing continuum. Today I double down on how to define our roles, look at self & understand that helping other leaders prosper is the true definition of leadership. It can be an overwhelming feeling out the front leading the charge or calling the shots, but never forget the person next to you that is helping you along and taking the leap of faith as they are also so crucial. When we strive to become better versions of ourselves, we not only heal individually we also heal collectively. Soak this one up and make sure you observe, give gratitude & always be in the act of helping others grow, because in turn that will create the change for the generations to come. Peace! It goes without saying that the balance with a healthy lifestyle on all levels is of great importance for us to get the most out of our lives. I take on another aspect of the concept to shed some insight into my own wellness journey, what I have learnt, the not so great choices, the onus on complacency and continue the key message of balancing our wellness into the physical, emotional and spiritual areas of our wellbeing. I have made a tone of not so good decisions in my journey thus far, we are human beings after all. But that is where the growth is in those moments of learnings, realities and testers in our life as we progress. If we continue to embrace change, evolve and unlearn we will create better energy for ourselves, families, communities and greater society. It’s all about connection! Join in yet another yarn with another brother that’s done the pilgrimage! Staying grounded in his cultural connection from childhood of working on the land, there is not much Clarence hasn’t achieved when he applies himself. One of the most genuinely humble and generous men I have met along the way. Enjoy this one, it is another piece of the puzzle of bringing back the warrior within. jiwah.com.au Don’t forget to subscribe and please leave a review.. The ebbs and flows of maintaining relationships to each other, families, values, societies and self are all so important to maintain and work at. Join me for another raw and very unpolished episode (listen for the doorbell ring near the end) where I take a dip into describing some insight into the relationships we hold from many angles. I also take the opportunity to have a little half season check in (it doesn't quite cover it all)- it’s been an incredible ride so far and I have had a blast putting some of my work on this platform. Enjoy this one it is a little bouncy but I get some points- see ya next time hey! Don’t forget to subscribe and please leave a review..
