Welcome to the weekly audio Podcast from Celebration Church Toronto (www.ticc.ca). Founded by Peter Youngren in 2000, Celebration Church is a vibrant and diverse church in the heart of Toronto, Canada. Celebration Church Toronto www.celebrationchurchtoronto.ca 190 Railside Road, Toronto, ON
In this teaching, Pastor Peter continues to expose the hypocrisy of religion as Paul preached in Galatia. When people try to add religion to the gospel then it appears Christ died in vain.Christ lives in and through us. We receive God's greatest gift of eternal life for free.God cannot be manipulated with rituals and ceremonies. God works miracles by the hearing of faith and trusting in Christ's righteousness. Mixing religion with the gospel leads to bewitchment.
In the book of Galatians, Paul prayed that the eyes of our understanding would be opened. Paul was very instrumental in showing people who Jesus is after He rescued Paul from systemic religion. In this teaching, Pastor Peter reminds us that the eyes of people in Toronto must be open so that they may turn to Jesus. How? - They must see Jesus in the Bible- Toronto must see Jesus in believers Listen to this highly anointed message and be blessed.
In this message, Pastor Peter continues his expository teaching on Galatians. In this study, we see Paul rebuking Simon Peter for not yielding to the true gospel concerning food: being double-minded about Jewish food and gentile food. Today, we need to preach the straightforward truth of the Gospel. Don't mix the Gospel with religion. We receive by the Grace of Jesus.Another point Pastor Peter highlights is that as believers we are included in Jesus's death and resurrection. Today we live by the faith OF the Son of God.
In this teaching, Pastor continues his expository study on Galatians.
In this teaching, Pastor Nathan teaches us to be alert, be aware, and not wave the white flag in surrender. We are reminded to always pray, and not lose heart. Our heart is central to all God's promises. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. There may be a fear to face large crowds, but don't give in. Jesus said, " Take courage, I have overcome the world"!!Let us discipline ourselves to always pray and connect to Jesus's divine nature.
In this message, Pastor Nathan teaches on our nature in Christ. Jesus does not remove the tough stuff but prays that our faith will not fail. Furthermore, we become stronger to be a blessing to others.Paul confirmed he can do the tough stuff through Christ ( Galatians 2:20 ). The only way we can be defeated is if we surrender Christs victory within us. Praying helps us to yield to Christ's victory within us.Let us ignore the roar of division but stay in unity that we are one in Jesus.
In this teaching, Pastor Nathan focusses on going through tough things - e.g. The Apostle Paul praising God at midnight in jail. Using scripture such as Philippians 4:13, he reminds us that we also can focus on the positive in tough times. Jesus endured the cross so that our joy can be full. With Christ, we can endure the tough stuff while looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of Our Faith.
Drawing from the book of Galatians, Pastor Peter teaches on how we can be seduced into a perverted gospel. Paul preached that the gospel and grace are the same. When the gospel of grace is taught we adopt God's righteousness. The inheritance we get from Jesus Christ is on the basis of our inclusion in God's love. These teachings from the Apostle Paul can help us get a revelation of Jesus the Christ in us.
In this teaching, Pastor Peter focused on the early believers mixing religion with the true gospel of Jesus. The gospel shows that Grace is the root and a good life is the fruit. God is not fair according to the rules of religion. God is just. From God's point of view we are made in His image and as such we deserve God's grace and peace - unearned and unmerited. From Grace we then step into our works that which we have been ordained to do. In Galatians 1. The Apostle Paul explained the gospel once again to the Galatians. He showed how the gospel has become diluted to include past practices in a SHOCKING SEDUCTION.
In this teaching, Pastor Nathan teaches that through major disruptions like the pandemic, God can still do great things for us. Through adversity we can ask God how to move forward.Example: Mary and Martha wanted a healing for Lazarus but Jesus wanted a resurrection. Some keys to identify divine disruptions: - They find us - They are beneficial to others. - They can move us out of our comfort zoneWhile comfort, convenience, and safety are good, God may want to enlarge us through disruptions.
In this teaching, Pastor Nathan encourages us on the benefits we have as new covenant believers. Jesus's blood is better than Abel's blood. His word gives us faith to persist in tough times. In Revelation, the resurrected Jesus, shows his care for the churches through His letters. He loves us without legalistic religion. He gently admonishes the churches showing He is alive today and He cares. The Alpha and Omega has overcome; we must not fear. We must walk by faith and live by His Better Word.
In this teaching, Pastor Peter shares some keys to stay on course, for instance . An attitude receptive to God's guidance . A heart that has compassion and is soft . A hungry and thirsty heart. From our New Covenant, we can trust in guidance from the Holy Spirit. The peace of God will then rule in our hearts.
Pastor Nathan teaches on Jeremiah 29:11: "...for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end". To understand God's plan for us we must believe He will also guide us through the Holy Spirit. Some of the attributes Pastor Nathan expounds on which will help us to know God's plan for us are: - It is in agreement with New Covenant scriptures - God's plan brings peace - It's in line with God's timing, which we need to discern
In this teaching, Pastor Nathan used John 2 to illustrate the miracle working power of Jesus. At a wedding in Cana Jesus transformed water into wine. Pastor continues on five reasons God refuses to leave us in broken states. Jesus's miracle power: 1. Can change things. 2. Rises above what our minds can comprehend. 3. Rises above what our minds can comprehend. 4 Meets our needs in a crisis. 5. Is available to help families in crisis. Jesus is always available to help.
In this sermon Pastor Nathan used Psalm 91 in His teaching. "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty". Today, this secret place is our position in Jesus. We live in His shadow. As a church family we live in the shadow of the Almighty. As we assemble together we release exponential light and power.
In this sermon Pastor Nathan uses Luke chapters 1 - 4 to elaborate on how to leave first base - salvation. Jesus required the power of the Holy Spirit to preach and to heal. Similarly, when we are baptized of the Holy Spirit having been born of the Spirit, we will have the power of the Most High evidenced by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We can stir ourselves up with His Power on a daily basis.
Pastor Nathan preaches on the power of the Holy Spirit using Acts 8:The early church suffered persecution and the people scattered. Philip went to Samaria and the people received the gospel message well. The apostles, having received the Holy Spirit, went about proclaiming Christ first in Samaria also. People heard them and saw signs miracles and and wonders with healing and deliverance. Pastor explained that salvation and Baptism of the Holy Spirit are different. (i) God's personal answer to our problems is salvation through Jesus Christ. (ii) Baptism in the Holy Spirit gives us special secret strength where signs miracle and wonders follow. It is a great overcoming power for this time. Hear more about this in the episode.
In this message, Pastor Nathan focuses on Psalm 103 to give reasons to bless the Lord. David chooses to bless the Lord and forget not his benefits: (i) forgives all our iniquities (ii) heals all our diseases (iii) Redeems our life from destruction (iv) crowns us with loving kindness and compassion (v) satisfies our mouths with all good things so our youths are renewed (vi) delivers and strengthen us from oppression (Luke 22: 44) (vii) makes known His ways and directs the steps of His children. Hear more about this teaching from the episode.
Pastor Peter continues the teaching using Proverb's 10:22 - "Blessings of the Lord makes us rich and he adds no sorrow to it. God's blessings is expressed in words: words of favour have been spoken over us so negative words from others cannot harm us. Only we can stop God's blessings by turning off our connection. E.g. Num:25, 1-3 King Balak to let the Moabite women entice the Israelite men and so cause them to stumble. Is there something we ourselves are doing to cause us to stumble in our connection to God? E.g. by speaking curses over ourselves or giving in to temptation. Let us do what is within our hands to do and water that seed and let it grow and flourish. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Cor: 1:1:18 All promises of God in Him are yes and in Him Amen.
Pastor Peter continues his teaching using Eph 1:3 - God our father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Pastor uses the old testament example of King Balak and the Prophet Balaam. The prophet understood that no one can curse who God has blessed. King Balak tried tempting Balaam to curse the Israelites passing through his land. Although he was somewhat willing, Balaam, however he tried, only spoke blessings over the Israelites (Num: 22) Similarly, today, God sees the Christ in us. We are in the covenant of Jesus Christ. God's blessing in our lives is unstoppable. Step into the fullness of this blessing.
Pastor Peter continues his message on blessings. He used Numbers 22: 5 - 7 to illustrate his message. King Balak, King of the Moabites understood the power of God's blessings over the Israelites. He knew he could not curse what God has blessed. We are the only ones who can prevent God's blessings on us by putting up walls of unbelief or through what we say and do. Hear more about this in this episode.
Pastor Peter preached on God's covenant of blessings for us. As seen in Genesis 1:22-28, God's original plan was for permanent blessings, working through natural laws. Abraham was blessed to be a blessing. His blessing was by God's Grace not works. The more we believe in God's blessings, the more we receive. The blessings of Abraham are for us also through Jesus Christ. Listen to the sermon for more.
On Sunday September 12th Pastor Nathan preached a sermon on how our breakthrough is guaranteed through Jesus. He said in his sermon listen to the ministry of righteousness and not condemnation and Jesus leads you by his goodness.
This Sunday Pastor Nathan's sermon continues on Prayer. Jesus promises us to ask anything in his name from the father. We can do this in confidence because our past is sealed in the blood of the Christ. Our perspective must be that the father wants to give us what we ask for. We must trust that God knows what is best for us.
In this third instalment on the Lord's prayer, Pastor Nathan expresses how God the father wants you to be bold, and ask with confidence. When you pray start with father. Exalt Him as your father. Begin to worship Him and give Him thanks. If you feel guilty, you can't come to Him as Father and rest in confidence knowing Him as provider. Instead, we are to be in awe of God. We are forgiven and righteous.
